I was watching a show on Hulu last night and Hulu likes to show you the same commercial on repeat throughout your show. By the third time I watched a Clear Blue pregnancy test commercial I nearly threw something at the tv. It depicts several women revealing their pregnancy to friends and family and they all receive completely over the top emotional sobbing reactions. Just STFU.
My head hurts, I'm tired of this cold, and I'm just ready to have my husband home since I haven't seen him in over a week. But then when he gets home, he'll just make a big melodramatic deal of trying to avoid my germs. Oh yeah, and I'm kind of over this job. *TW* I really wish I was 1.5 months from maternity leave like I was supposed to be.

I just remembered that I should go to another community's annual economic development meeting this evening. Uuuuuuuugh and I was looking forward to a chill night at home. I don't HAVE to go, but I SHOULD go...
At least my coworker is out of the office today, so I can watch VPR on Hulu until I have to leave for said meeting.
My boss, who sprang a meeting on me halfway through my run at lunch with a new Director who now probably thinks I am an unorganized, sweaty, smelly person. Cool.
Not actually upset about anything other than the usual AF sadness today but I had to comment on some of these.

It drives me crazy when I'm in traffic, in a long line of cars on an off ramp or waiting to make a turn, and while I'm "following the rules" waiting my turn I see some d-bag speeding up on the lane next to me all the way to the front of the line where they put their blinker on and switch lanes to get in the front of the long line, effectively cutting the line. And it slows down traffic, the line gets moving, then slows when the cutter jumps in and cars slow/stop to let it happen. It makes the wait even longer for those of us that have been patiently waiting in line! What makes you so special that you don't have to wait like the rest of us??? Ughhhh it drives me up the wall, I'm always yelling at both the person cutting the line and the person that lets them cut in front of them and get into the line. (I can understand if it's an emergency or someone who isn't familiar with the roads and didn't realize they were in the wrong lane, but most of the time it looks so deliberately done that I think it's just someone being rude.)
*TW* My mom told me yesterday that her friend (who is 53) thinks she might be pregnant. WHY the eff would she tell me that?! Then, she tells me that the friend only had sex once and proceeds to say how her boobs hurt and blah blah blah. I told her that if she was pregnant enough to have symptoms she was pregnant enough to turn a test, but apparently this lady just wants to give it a few days to see if it's just her period (which are very rare). **eyeroll** why the eff would my mom think I would enjoy that story?! After I got pissed she goes on to say how if she is pregnant she will probably miscarry because she is old.

I am so sick of DH not really helping around the house. He does the remodeling stuff (which we haven't gotten supplies for in a while) but none of the chores. When I work until 7 I don't get home until 8 and he gets home at 4:30 unless it's the weekend which means he doesn't work at all. The same freaking dishes will be sitting in the sink and strainer until I do them same for laundry. I never ever ask him to do anything except maybe go feed and water the chickens (the containers are too heavy for me) and put away the towels since I can't reach where they go. NOPE. I ask for days and days and look and behold the same damn towels are still in a stack where I folded them. I don't even care if he does the dishes because I like doing them actually I think it's relaxing to turn on my music and do them but he could at least freaking put the ones in the strainer away since he knows I have a hard time reaching the cupboards and have to climb on the counters and shit like a damn monkey to do it. He also never ever cooks anymore. If I'm not home to cook at a suitable time we go out or order out and we could save so much if he would just cook with the food we spent hundreds on at the grocery store.....sorry for the book and rant. My hormones and emotions are running really high lately and I'm just so frustrated over everything.
I find it very rich that my principal would have us sit through an hour PD on bullying, yet not attend herself when she's the biggest bully in the school.
I'm on my way to the treat and release. I've had a headache since Thursday, plus congestion and temperature fluctuations. I'm starting to think I have pneumonia. But I will be at work tomorrow because aforementioned principal is a psycho and is out for blood this week.
DH is on a new base for a month and his cell phone gets no reception there. My Saturday (which was my birthday) was miserable and all I want to do is vent to him about it but we haven't been able to talk for more than a minute or two the past two days. He did send me 18 Facebook messages trying to encourage me, which was sweet. But I miss my husband's voice. This deployment is a misery. I wish I could hibernate until he comes home.

@ktcakes87 That reminds me of the movie Real Women Have Curves because the elderly mother is convinced she is pregnant because she hasn't had a period in months and her doctor tells her she's starting menopause. It's great because the mother was using this "pregnancy" to get attention and she's so let down she's just old. Tell your mom her friend is just going through "the change."

Thanks, everyone. It's the flu- apparently I've had it since Thursday and my GP totally misdiagnosed me on Friday. The treat and release did a swab and the doctor's reaction was "Holy cow! How did you not know you had the flu?" They recommended me not going back into work until Friday, but my principal will flip out, so I'll be back and just quarantined in my room.
Totally gonna be me tomorrow:

@jsnakehole I know you said your boss sucks, but I can't imagine them wanting the flu going around. *TW* As someone who gets sick easily and has an very possible autoimmune disorder, I absolutely have to avoid being sick. I think there is a strong possibility I MC because I got sick and my immune system attacked. */TW* You may also have coworkers who are parents whose kids can't be vaccinated yet and if they bring it home, it could be trouble. If there is any way you can stay home, please do.

@NYTino24 I totally agree with you, and I really really wish I could stay home. A friend of mine was out for three days because she was hooked up to a heart monitor because my principal was being so cruel to her that she was having chest pains. My principal is now moving to terminate her for 'professional misconduct' for excessive absences. She's taken five days total this year, but she at least has tenure to protect her.
I'm going to quarantine myself in my room- no interacting with other staff or students outside of my class. I'm also at the end of the contagious period (I've been sick for four days, and tomorrow will be day five and the flu is only contagious for up to five days after the onset of symptoms). I would kill to just stay home and rest up, but I can't risk being brought up for excessive absences (I've already missed four days this year).
