@TravelingCouple Yes, I hope we all get Thanksgiving babies!!! Also, I hope the reference range on the AMH makes you feel a little better. I mean if your RE thinks it's high, it's worth following up, but mine said he only thinks PCOS above 11. You may be in the clear and just have lithe young ovaries ;)

  • Options
@adirat thanks!! I'm setting up a call with my gyn to discuss whether or not she thinks an AMH test is warrented at this point. I'm happy to hear your appointment went well and that your RE was prepared to discuss your genetic testing. I hope you get it soon for your other test! Oh, what lifestyle changes did you make to increase your AMH?

@wabash15 and others, I came across this article and it helped me a bit. Granted I haven't had the other tests, but still...

@BertieMeetsGertie Primarily, I followed the directions out of It Starts with the Egg -- eliminated BPA tupperware, got rid of most of my toiletries and makeup with phthalates, parabens, and other endocrine disruptor chemicals, etc. I switched from regular CoQ10 to ubiquinol and added zinc to my daily vitamins. I also did some kind of crunchy stuff I read about online like dry body brushing (which actually feels nice hence I kept doing it). Of course, I can't directly attribute any of these things to the increase (from 1.7 to 2.9) but it finally feels like *something* made a difference! He said that with my AMH up in the normal range, our chances with a medicated cycle should be the 20% per cycle average you read about.

I had an antral follicle count at my first RE appt. I think @wabash15 you did too? @TravelingCouple this should reveal any likelihood of PCOS.

Sheesh! And you have to avoid soy too?! Hats off to you, my lady! That takes quite the dedication.

@BertieMeetsGertie Haha. The soy thing is the worst part. To be honest, once you replace your plastic stuff with glass stuff, it's no work at all. It took me a little while to find replacement products (especially for conditioner and makeup) but once you find replacements you like, that isn't too big a deal either.

  • Options
@adirat since my dr said my estradiol was on the lower end, I'm contemplating eating more soy but I'm not sure if that's the best move.

Yes it does thank you. I'm going to be asking about it tomorrow definitely. And I did have an ultrasound at CD 3, if that's what you mean by follicle count. I had 7 in one ovary, 12 in the other. Still unsure if that's an issue, another question for tomorrow.
  • Options
@TravelingCouple My understanding is that if you have PCOS, it's clear on the ultrasound -- "string of pearl" ovaries is what I've heard. I hope it goes well tomorrow and you get ALL your questions answered!

    RE: AMH

Make sure you read the units of measurement as there are TWO UOM for AMH. When I had my AMH done the first time I got my results in the portal before meeting with the RE. I looked at the wrong scale and had a stroke because I thought I had zero eggs. Turns out I was normal.

I had something called an OAR done with is a Ovarian Assessment Report.

@kyersten Oh I wonder if you and I are close! Even though they obviously have a ton of locations... Sometimes I wonder if any of the other women in the waiting room are on here  ;)

  • Options
@hartmich @kyersten I just looked at the site briefly and it looks like they take Kaiser insurance (with a referral of course). I think my insurance covers IUIs with like a $75 copay so I wasn't sure if they did them with their own doctors or if you go out of Kaiser for that.

@BertieMeetsGertie  ah I'm not familiar with Kaiser at all - but if you're interested in going there, they were amazing at running my insurance and printing out everything about what things would cost etc.

@BertieMeetsGertie what @hartmich said - I'm not familiar with Kaiser. I always wonder if I see Bump people at the office too! Especially when I start IVF and will be there all the time. It's a sort of comforting thought as I look at people waiting without looking like I'm looking
