Apparently blood sugar fluctuations and insulin problems -- even if measures like your A1C are in the high end of normal range -- have a huge negative effect on fertility and on your egg quality. I'm going to try this, but ugh I am so sad. Just looking at the list online of high glycemic index foods is depressing.

We moved a lot. The cool thing was that our school colors were maroon in 2/4 of them and right after I picked a college, they switched from red to maroon. I ended up buying a house a town over (really two streets) from the place I considered home. Funny thing, though... my other 4 sisters consider where we went to HS their hometown.
@adirat Tell me about it with the sugar / carbs. Here's what I can and can't eat before my SIBO test. I have to check all of the vitamins and not take any starting last week. Oops, too late since they took five days to get back to me.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@adirat I know, what a "diet" to follow. I fall into the 2-3 day category at times and not at others. Luckily my test is on Presidents Day, so I can handle not eating much on the Saturday and Sunday before it because I can lay around and don't need energy. I don't think I will be very pleasant though.

@heatherdubrow That's tiny! The school I teach at is grades 3-5 and we share land with the PK-2 building. We have more than 1,500 kids just in that tiny area!!! R/R: I've come to terms with my chart. At this point, it's possible that I may have O'd on Friday. It's also possible that this cycle is an-O. O could even be on its way even later. Just need to breathe.
CS/Q: Am I wrong to be hopeful for Friday O? This is the first time I've had 2 consecutive temps over 97.3. I know anything can change. I guess I'm also freaking because my last cycle was 26 days. My chart.
GTKY: What is something unique or interesting about the city/town where you grew up?
I grew up in the home town of the Booth family. As in John Wilkes Booth. Who assassinated Lincoln. The Booth family was actually a very prominent and influential family in the town. You can still visit their house and go on tours. We just try not to mention that pesky moody son who is possibly one of the greatest villains in American history.
@LoveinDC it's hard to tell, but if you don't know your normal coverline, then that also makes it tough. What are your normal postO temps? Many people hit 98 and above after O. When do you normally O? OPKs would help.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@NYTino24 This is my first cycle temping, so im really blind at this point. I'm noticing that it's really hard for me to get at or above 97.5, so I'm thinking that's around my cover line. If I don't get above 97.6, I'm going to consider this cycle an-O. I don't know my cycle very well yet because this is only cycle 3 off BCP. I'm going to do OPKs next cycle along with CP. Between all of it, something has got to give.
@bertiemeetsgertie I have family in Marinette County so I understand your type of town -- what a place to grow up.
@heatherdubrow Wow, that sounds amazing! I would love to go to Hong Kong.
@loveindc Hugs -- unreadable charts blow. FWIW my coverlines are always 97.0 or 97.1 so it's very much possible to see post-O temps in this range. I just don't see the definitive spike yet. I hope a couple more days will make it clearer. In the meantime, just keep telling yourself
@adirat yay for O day! Tell me more about this diet...where can I see the full list of foods? I am intrigued. Eta:words @BertieMeetsGertie whoo hoo for O!

The general rule of thumb is don't eat anything processed or anything white (flour + bread products, sugar, potatoes). The book also recommends eating lower-sugar fruits, for instance, replacing mangoes with berries. There's also some evidence that a Mediterranean diet helps women who have ovulatory dysfunction but it isn't clear how generalizable that impact is to other women. I suspect I'll end up doing a low potato, low flour version of a Mediterranean diet myself. But part of it is that we both love Mediterranean diet staples (olive oil, beans, fish, Mediterranean vegetables) and I know it won't be a hard sell for DH like a straight low-glycemic diet would be. (Minus pasta. I'm certain he'll still be eating a lot of pasta, and I'll use zucchini noodles.)
R/R: Just normal Sunday stuff...laundry,cleaning, lazy day otherwise. Had a great bday! Although we had some major a-holes sitting behind us at the hockey game last might. Not sure if I'd be strong enough to do it though! @NYTino24 Hugs to you and you have every right to be emotional. @BertieMeetsGertie Yay for CH! I may not get to post tomorrow so GL in the tww! @LoveInDC I don't see a definite spike yet but if your temp goes even higher tomorrow then it may be Friday. Welcome back @letyourheartbeyourguide!! @jess0211 Sorry O wasn't earlier. Still have my FX for that it's before the surgery! I also grew up very close to the Canadian boarder like @jess0211 but I was right next to Windsor. So my senior year of HS my friends and I would drive over at least 1-2 times a month to go to the bar because the drinking age was 18! We would all go in on a hotel room together and pack like 6-7 of us in one room. lol
@BertieMeetsGertie it's basically who gets to pick names. Basically if he wins I have no say, he can pick whatever names he wants. If I win (which would be basically if we need help) then I pick whatever name I want with no arguement from him. This basically stemmed from an arguement about seeing the RE. He is convinced nothing is wrong and we just need more time. I'm convinced we will need help. His bet was that it would happen this or my last cycle so this is his last chance lol.
@safire3 I hope you both win and get a take home baby soon!

@NYTino24 I'm really sorry about the dress. I know it sucks.
@jess0211 I wouldn't say that ED is frowned upon, it's more like if ED isn't working, try EOD a cycle to let him build up a bit. In this situation, since you've been doing EOD and you're on a deadline, I'd go Monday & Tuesday.
@safire3 I can't say that I give the Yono rave reviews. I thought it would help since I tend to have middle insomnia so it's hard to wake up at the right time and to have had the three hours of sleep. For me, I think it makes me uncomfortable so I sleep even worse. A number of times it hasn't come up with a BBT for me, just a graph of my temps through the night and it's kind of a 'figure it out yourself' situation. Plus their app pales in comparison to FF. It might be useful eventually but I don't think it is right now.

@sailing_mama I made your lotion bars today! I didn't add any essential oils because I used cocoa butter and I wanted to see if I would like the cocoa/coconut scent alone. Also I put them in muffin wrappers so DH asked me if they were food.

I suppose it'd be how diverse it was. When I went to college so many of my classmates talked about how they had one black kid or one Asian kid in their class. I didn't have that experience. There was so much diversity that I never thought twice about it. On top of that, in that little town in the middle of nowhere, I went to an excellent public school system. The town over from mine was very wealthy, I thank those parents for their money that helped not only their children but all the children in the district! I've learned that's very important for me to have for my future children.

@NYTino24 I'm in my SILs wedding this summer and I originally was holding off on buying a dress, hoping that I'd be KTFU but doesn't look like it's happening. Hormones and emotions are hard. I think waiting a bit to have it altered is a good idea. Mine is still in the box from when I got it in November. Also I think my entire school district growing (1-12) up was like 1,500 kids.

@BertieMeetsGertie whoo hoo for O!

I grew up in NYC. My favorite spot was the 91st street garden in Riverside Park - it's where they filmed the last scene in You've Got Mail.

When I say major, I mean MAJOR. I practiced serious self-control...
Totally off subject, but anyone recommend places to look for a nice entertainment center? Rustic style...
Rant: was hoping I would O early but still flashing smilet in CB OPK. We've been hio eod this past week. His surgery is Tuesday so my plan is to hio tomorrow and maybe the morning of his surgery.
CS/Q: Is ED sex really frowned upon for ttc? I am tempted to hio today, mon and tuesday given after Tuesday we're benched for 4-6 weeks.

I grew up in a town 30 mins from Canadian border and a reservation in rural NY. We often went to Canada for dinner and skating competitions. My Dad lived in the town over which has a huge life-saver statue in the middle of the town to acknowledge the guy who founded the life-saver co. Weird, right?

@BertieMeetsGertie Yay for CH! I may not get to post tomorrow so GL in the tww!
@LoveInDC I don't see a definite spike yet but if your temp goes even higher tomorrow then it may be Friday. This is probably bad advice but sometimes I play around with FF to see how high of a temp I would need next to get CH. Also I second OPKs. That would give you another piece of the puzzle.
Welcome back @letyourheartbeyourguide!!
@jess0211 Sorry O wasn't earlier. Still have my FX for that it's before the surgery! Also from what I've read unless there is a problem with sperm quality there is nothing wrong with ED.

R/R: Had a good but busy day yesterday. In-laws came to visit (and DH cooked for them which is awesome!), went bowling, went to a movie last night and DH insisted on HIO x 2 yesterday since we have a bet going and if I don't get KU this cycle he loses . I tried to bring up the sperm quality argument and got nowhere. I hope I O soon and all his efforts are not wasted. So far very negative OPKs.
Looking forward to relaxing today before work tomorrow.
CS/Q: Nope but my mabis is still giving trouble. I want to try the yono ear piece next but DH won't let me spend that kind of money until after this cycle.

I also grew up very close to the Canadian boarder like @jess0211 but I was right next to Windsor. So my senior year of HS my friends and I would drive over at least 1-2 times a month to go to the bar because the drinking age was 18! We would all go in on a hotel room together and pack like 6-7 of us in one room. lol

GTKY: What is something unique or interesting about the city/town where you grew up? (If you don't identify with having a hometown, pick anywhere you lived as a kid.) We've got potatoes. Miles and miles of potatoes. We also provide a lot of the grain to Anheuser-Busch. Quite the claim to fame.

Also I put them in muffin wrappers so DH asked me if they were food.

edit - I do not understand how it is possible that in uploading two pictures, one ended up in the spoiler box and one is attached but not visible, but anyway, one is when they were first poured and the other is now that I cooled them in the window.

@NYTino24 I'm so sorry about the bridesmaids dress and the feelings that must bring up, creepy hugs from a newbie internet stranger

@adirat I never thought about blood sugar affecting fertility. I'm going to have to read that book. I'm hypoglycemic and get lots of sugar fluctuations/crashes
@kiki75 My Sheltie hates staying inside. Unfortunately for her she has to for a while because of heart worm treatment and exercise restrictions. Restless dogs are a pain. Meanwhile my Maltese sleeps in bed with us all night and when we get up she crawls into her bed to sleep all day.

We filed our federal taxes last night and today I get to work on consolidating my federal loans. I finish my degree next month so I'll have to start paying them back but then when we move in May I'll be out of a job for a while. I need to seriously make and stick to a budget for the next few months to build up savings AND pay off as much as I can.
