The one thing I am dying to do is exercise again. I've been walking when it's been nice out but I want to strengthen this pooch. I've been having major body image issues. I'm not losing weight but I'm eating healthy and I can't exercise. It sucks. I hate the way I look and have about 40 plus pounds to lose.

@drove2u ugh I know how you feel . I gained 44 lbs prevnant . Most of my old clothes still don't fit at 10 weeks post partum . I've been easing back into exercise and trying to eat healthy and feel like it's not coming off or coming off very very slowly . But I just keep reminding myself it took 9 months to gain the weight so I can't expect it to come off in less than that . Hang in there , i know it's hard :(

@Drove2u & @mskeenan You're not alone. For the past month since I've got the "ok" to start exercising I thought I could just eat better & it the weight would come off. Nope, not so much. With delivery I only lost 16 out of the 66lbs I gained during pregnancy. Since I started kickboxing on Sunday (going every other day even though I'm sore as could be)
    and sticking to a 1,200 calorie/day diet, I've lost 2lbs. It's a start lol.

@Drove2u I too have about 40lbs to lose. I know it's difficult, but your 6 weeks will be up before you know it. And since you want it so bad, I'm sure you'll bounce back!

I totally wake up with night sweats and then when I get up to pump, I'm shaking profusely. It has been better the past few days, but the first week it was awful.

I'm sitting here in the NICU, and they just did a circumcision next door to me. Holy egg whites! I don't think I can put my baby through that. He has been through enough. Anybody else not circumcise? Regrets?

I have night sweats from time to time too. I also leak profusely at night. Waking up with a soaking tshirt sucks especially when I don't pump that much out to begin with. I feel like I'm losing so much milk with the leakage.

@clt2pwm11 i know it's hard. We circumcised out boy but I had to leave the room so I wouldn't be traumatized. We did the Jewish circumsision and I'm not sure if there's a difference from how it's done at the hospital, but it wasn't as bad as I thought if would be. He cried for a minute and then he was fine. The aftermath wasn't as terrible as I imagined as well. He healed pretty quickly too so no regrets in getting it done at all.

So Aiden decided to put on a show for daddy today and be a perfect child during the day since my husband is working from home. There's been almost no crying and he slept for 4 hours during each of his 2 naps so that I was able to nap twice also. That has never happened before and I always tell my husband how it's hard to nap during the day and there's always so much screaming too. Not today. Now I wish he'd sleep 4 hours straight at night so mama can sleep some too.

I actually did great with my weight loss I'm over 43 pounds skinner below baby weight. But my body shape is definitely different now.
So ladies my Aubrey is been fussy and different from her sister. Has problems with pooping sometimes and has to push a lot. Doesn't burp when fed. So I brought her to pediatrician who wants to do a milk allergy test so I'm doing it on both to see. Also I started to stop give bottles cold I still make my pitcher of formula but I put the bottles in hot water to warm them up and get the chill out

I didn't gain weight during pregnancy, just the weird 2pounds. So I actually weight less after birth. It's just not my body. My clothes fit, and I have to keep pulling up my trousers, but there's this wobbly bobbly jelly belly kangaroo pouch. I am not a fan.
Neither am I a fan of one boob being droopy and the other one still being quite ok. It's a constant reminder that one kinda produced milk and the other just plain refused.
I only excerciced three times though, so can't expect it to be tightened up. Excercicing is hard with Pia that couldn't entertain herself (we have progress here) maybe I should just put on workout clothes in the morning and take a few minutes here and there, as I don't have the energy to change clothes..(or the 'what is it called' to make me go change)

As for the night sweats. They disappear I promise. After a while your body can regulate warmth again. Or mine did. Mind you, my body function as it hasn't been pregnant really fast, so hormones where back to normal in no time.
But it kept the 'crying for no f'in reason', you know...just so people think one is a nutcase.

Good luck on the milk allergy  test @ultratomato.
They will do a provocation test on Pia the end of next month. I'm so dreading it as she is doing wonderful on the formula we have today.

Here in the Netherlands we don't circumcise unless it's for religion reason or medical reasons.
In Norway it actually had been banned until 1st Jan 2015 to do so if it wasn't medical needed. I haven't met a man who is unhappy that he isn't circumcised @clt2pwm11. But then again, they don't know otherwise down here.

Hahah @tulips29, isn't that typical that Aiden shows what a good boy he is, just to proof mummy wrong. Hope you enjoyed the naps!

I tried napping with Pia as we had a rough night, but her naps where 20 min or less and cried the rest of the time. She has had her second shots yesterday. No fever just higher temperatures. I had her in bed with me after rocking her to sleep ten thousand times. Just gave her a bottle and put her in her own bed...she accepted.
I should be sleeping, but am overtired and don't seems to 'catch' it.

@dragonfaerie for the first two weeks I took as many naps as possible. I was exhausted. Now I don't nap at all but it's almost 9pm and I'm barely keeping my eyes open. I'm trying to do a dream feed at 10pm tonight for my first time. I put her to bed at 8pm. We have been putting her to bed at 9 or 10pm and she's been sleeping really well but cranky as hell during the day. So trying something new.

@clt2pwm11 Keep in mind if DH is circumcised, it may be hard for your son to not be, as the care of and appearance is different. It's a very quick procedure and they bounce back quickly. Neither DH nor I were in the room when Riley got his done, but he was back with us quick for cuddles and he only fussed a little

@dragonfaerie I was really good with naps initially when Aiden slept because he pretty much slept the entire day almost in the beginning. Now it's harder. By the time I put him to sleep, eat, do dishes, pump, I barely have an hour left before he wakes up to eat again. But even an hour nap helps. Sometimes I'm just so tired that I leave everything be and just go take a nap with him.

Ive have a few instances where I feed him at night and fall asleep. Last night I fell asleep 5 mins into a feeding and woke up an hour later with his head just resting on my boob and he was passed out cold.

@clt2pwm11 - we circumcised Eli at his 2 week appt bc the hospital wouldn't do it. There was a big thing about insurance. I was not in the room. He was crying when they brought him back but I cuddled and nursed him and he settled right down. He was fine the rest of the day and we gave him Tylenol that night. I think it's ridiculous to say it won't hurt him but at that age he is not going to remember a thing and it's def harder on mama!
@dragonfaerie I try to take at least one nap a day with Eli. I used to take more but we have gotten into a pretty consistent routine so I don't need them as much. Plus I have to get ready to go back to work at some point in the next 6 weeks so it works.

Eli and I have been out in CA all week and he has been a champ! BC we have been so busy it's almost been even better for our routine bc I know when he is going to be the most alert and when he is going to be sleeping. He's been loved on by so many people and he just takes it all in.

Pia is still upset. She's not really ill, I think she replays the episode, she's back to suddenly panic attacks and just wants to be close.
Im exhausted. Walked into my mum in the grocery store, and even though we talked about Pia by SMS, she only realised I needed a break when seeing me.
So tomorrow evening this mummy is getting a full night sleep as Pia will be at her grandparents :)

So lovely to hear Eli is doing so well and loves the love he's getting!

Dylan slept for almost 4 hours straight last night. That is an accomplishment. Last night I gave him a bath, which he hated. I fed him. Then he slept for a couple hours while I showered and cleaned up some things. I quickly changed him and fed him.  I put him down  to sleep began  1am and 1:30 and he slept until after 5 am. (instead of 3 or 4 am) Three to 4 hours of sleep felt like a good night's sleep for me. Later in the day, I napped some more while he slept.

I don't want to get too excited because it might be another night of me being up until 3 or 4 am while he only sleeps 20 to 30 minutes at a time. Typically he'll sleep in my arms or will only sleep if I walk around the house with him in my arms. Then as soon as I put him down, he's screaming or asking for more food. It's typical that I just fed him and he spit up, so I try to pace him and find other ways to comfort him first. If some time has passed by, then I fed him again.

DH doesn't really have a shift, so it's mostly all on me. I've found ways to get him more involved, so that I can shower.  He doesn't have to do anything since I always set things up so that the baby is sleeping during that time. We are lucky that our parents are very helpful and not in the way. I just want dh to recognize what I'm doing a little more. I know this little boy more then anyone in the world and I usually know what he needs. While I complain to others a bit, I'm actually more proud of everything I've done to take care of our son.

Hoping for another 4 hour stretch overnight.

@ultratomato dream feed is when you put them to sleep at like 7 or 8 and then just pick them up while they're sleeping around 10-11pm or closer to your bedtime and feed them. That way they're fed and happy and will sleep longer. Well I failed and couldn't stay up that late lol. But i put Viktoria to bed at 8. I fed her 3oz at 6:30pm and then 2oz at 8 as part of her bedtime routine and she slept until 1am. Fell asleep at 2am and slept till 5:30am. So not too bad.
Im just not sure if me putting her to bed earlier is making her get up earlier. When I put her to bed at like 9 or 10pm she would sleep till 7am. I guess it's all just trial and error. Poor thing has blocked tear ducts now so we had to get antibiotics since it got a little infected. But she will be 6 weeks tomorrow and weighs 10lbs, 10oz already!!

Well I haven't done it yet Bc I fell asleep but when I do I won't change her diaper. Unless it's poopy. I'll change her diaper at the next feed. Tonight I'm feeding her 3oz at 8pm. And then at 9:30 2oz as part of bedtime routine. We will see how long she sleeps tonight. @ultratomato

Good luck!! Let me know how it goes!!! @ultratomato i definetly always "top her off" with more milk before bed no matter when she ate last even if it's just 1oz. I usually take her into our bedroom that I set up with dim lighting, feed her in the glider chair, sing to her and put her in her rock n play to sleep. Once in a while I have to run back upstairs because she cries but only to put a pacifier back in her mouth. She's sleeping then for 3-5 hours. I'm usually sleeping shortly after her.

I hope Riley sleeps tonight. He hardly napped today at all, so I'm hoping he is worn out. We gave him his first bath tonight too so maybe the adrenaline drop off after that will help

When I get Eli back to AZ I am going to try getting him in bed earlier. Usually we do his bath around 8 and try to get him a bottle and then in bed by 9 but I think I want to aim for 7. I've heard it actually helps them sleep longer and it will also give DH and I a little time together in the evenings. I can't believe I am over half way through my maternity leave! It's going by way too fast!

That's wonderful @LynnNJ, fingers crossed Dylan keeps up!

I do the dreamfeed too @drove2u and @ultratomato. Didn't know it was called that :)
Pia had skipped her 11 o'clock feeding, which I prefer over the 3 o'clock. So my sister suggested to wake Pia. I have done so for over a week, but Pia kept her 3 o'clock. On Wednesday when getting Pia's shots the paediatrician suggesting waking her at 10 to put her off schedule. Of course Pia woke up at 2!
We typically bath between 6 and 7, she gets a bottle and I put her down. I often have to rock her to sleep.
I sometimes change her diaper at the dreamfeed. I did now, and put a size bigger diaper on as she's very wet in the morning. (That's due to all the feeds she should skip)
So I feed her sleepy a few sips, change her with as little as possible movement, and feed her the rest. She'll keep sleeping or falls back to sleep.
Once she's really passed out, no matter how much she drank (until now it's always over half her bottle) I burp her (if she manages as she's really completely out) and put her down.
The feeding at 3 and 6 I do not change her, cause she wakes up too much and doesn't want to sleep right away. I never have her crying for a bottle. I hear her sucking noises and give her a dummy. She either accepts it or keeps complaining. With the latter I know she needs the bottle. By the time it's warm she often just has a little cry as to say yes that's what I want.

So I did all the above again this night.
At 2 she woke, I gave her the dummy and she accepted. At 3 the same thing. At 3:30 again, again at 4 and again at 5. At 06:15 she did not accept the dummy and wanted the bottle. So we kinda had our first full night! I only got up for a dummy and slept within minutes!
Even after the bottle of 06:15 she was back in bed at 06:40 and is sound asleep.
While I'm on here bright awake and have no clue what to do with all this energy! I could rule the world to be honest ;)

These dream feeds sound really interesting. I want to try it eventually, but I found with our first few days that I kinda have to wake Riley up to eat at night,  or he dozes off and is hungry an hour later. Plus, with the c-section, I couldn't easily get him up into my arms, so I was having to stand and move around anyway. Once I heal completely, I will try to just keep things chill for night feedings, but right now it works best to get him up and at'em

I do believe it's best to wait a little, get feeding going and both be ready. I only started with Pia once I saw she managed longer naps to get her schedule fitting day to day better, and I think we only just started. I have to remember she's still very tiny, so baby steps it is :)

Has anyone else experienced tingling in your leg on whatever side baby is nursing on? It seems like it happens fairly often,  but Dr Google never has an answer as to why.

@dragonfaerie no that hasn't happened to me. Is it from the epidural?

So last night timing wise it didn't work out to "top her off" before bed so I just fed her 4oz instead of 3oz at 9pm. She was up at midnight but then slept from 12:30-4:30. And then 4:45 to 7am. Why am I still so tired? Lol. I'm sure I'm late to the game but I've been using Spotify to play white noise (they have white noise playlists) and omg!! So amazing!! She's sleeping and napping better and is less cranky. Why haven't I discovered this earlier?
