GTKY: Username and Avatar

So I'm ridiculously bored this evening. DS ans DH are watching Beauty and the Beast, and I can only focus long enough to song along to the songs...

Anyway, what is the meaning behind your username and/or avatar?

My username is a nickname given to me in 8th grade Spanish class.  It stuck, and I've used it for lots of things ever since. 9/28 is my birthday.  ETA: I've been asked before, and no, I'm not hispanic.. it's just a middle school nickname.

Avatar is me and DS at a mother's day family dinner.

My user name is my wedding date, and last initial.  My avatar is a goat in a tote, it says Totes Ma Goats.  I couldn't stop laughing the first time I saw it.

I've posted this before, but I call DH Pout Pout Fish when he gets grumpy, and I'm the Glitter Fish that turns him into Kiss Kiss Fish.
Although in the book it's actually Shimmer Fish, but I like Glitter Fish better lol.

I've always been fond of the name Daisy but other than that, no fun story behind my username. I'm boring. My avatar is Heisenberg from Breaking Bad. I'm a chemist (or was I guess since I'm SAHM now), so I had a special interest in the show---it was fun telling my husband like "ha no! That's not how that works"...made me feel smart

@dancegurl1118 Lol, well I know that's what the random crazy thought!! I did ballet and lyrical for a number of years when I was younger.  I wish we had one of those Pure Barre exercise classes in my area.

my username was also my AIM SN. It's a nickname my brother made up for me and anytime I use it as a username it's easy because it's never been taken before.  If I use "emma" which is a much more common nickname for my name, I have to put a thousand numbers after it.

My avatar has changed a few times but currently it's a picture I found on facebook around New Year's that I thought was cute. "Popping bottles will have a different meaning this year!"

Edited because I apparently don't know what my own avatar says lol

Turtles are my thing and Squirt from Finding Nemo is my favorite cartoon character. I laugh when I see the baby on ultrasounds because it makes me think of Squirts line 'Rip it, Roll it and Punch it'.  I feel like I may regret that when it's really punching!  Avatar is obviously Squirt.

Growing up, my school had a lot of other Chinese immigrant kids. They used to make tease me for acting so "white."  That I was a Twinkie (yellow outside, white inside). It was not mean-spirited (with a few rare exceptions) and never bothered me. Twinkiedoll just occurred to me when I needed a username for something one day.

 I was aiming for anonymity when I chose my screenname. I chose it so that if someone googled my sn they would get a lot of info that had nothing to do with me. Ada Byron Lovelace was one of few female mathematicians in history. She's credited with writing the first algorithm intended to be carried out by a machine, so she is sometimes called the first ever computer programmer. She's kind of a poster child for programs aimed at getting more girls/women in STEM fields. 

Near and dear to me because I am a mathematics teacher. If I have a daughter, I will likely name her Ada.

When we found out we were pregnant we referred to DS as the munchkin before knowing his sex. Mama because I'm a mom. I think my avatar is still DS at 3 months but I can't see it these days.

My name is because this is my second pregnancy that has actually continued.. 

And my avatar is a picture I took of a tree at work. It's kinda pretty, super colorful. WA state has super pretty colors in the Fall.

Username: Cie was a nickname I was given. Law is the beginning of my last name. 89 the year I was born.

Avatar: an old picture of me during undergrad I think. My hair is not that long anymore.

my avatar is my neice, My cousins and friends call me Zee most of the time, I'm planning on making a cookbook with quick recipes and itl be called Busy Zee. Fingers crossed

It'snotyourturn is a nod to how it seemed like I would never get to have a child (we even tried adoption).  The pic was a joke my sister sent to me after she saw it in a meme.  She said it's how we run off when my Mom calls our names.

Great thread idea, there's so many avatars I've seen over and over, but have never actually stopped to look at what they are (love the ones with cats in them!). 

I made this SN when I was newly pregnant and freaking out at the prospect of having a child. This lo was very much a surprise for us and I thought I was still a couple years away from having kids. Fast forward to today, both my partner and I are very excited and feeling more 'ready' to dive into parenthood. 

The avatar is my beloved mutt, she's a Jack Russell/Chihuahua/who knows what else got in there.

My SN is a reference to my favorite book/ television series, Outlander. It's actually a derogatory term for "English person" used by the Scottish and Irish countryman. In the story the main heroine (an English woman) accidentally time travels from the year 1945 back to 1743, that's what the numbers mean. Eventually she takes up with a troupe of Scottish Highlanders, and ends up marrying one... he calls her Sassenach as a term of endearment, and it's sooo sexy. 

Avatar is the Union Jack (national flag of the United Kingdom). 

*Bonus, my real name is actually the Latin name for the island of Great Britain, later used for the female personification of the United Kingdom.

My current sn is N for Natalie, k for my middle name, trodden is my maiden name (currently a Wilson, as we know) and 826 for my anniversary-August 26, 2009.

And my photo is my son at 17 months sitting in a window at Dunkin Donuts-back when I could stomach the thought of coffee! When his "cheeeeeeeeeese" face meant you scrunch every muscle in your face as hard as possible

@a_wee_bit_terrified Lol us too! Maybe in 2018 we would talk about conceiving, but not now! Of course DH and I are thrilled and very excited for the little bean at this point. Doesn't mean we aren't still terrified sometimes.

My username is boring. Initials and last name, left over from when I had a Knot account for my wedding. Honestly, I should probably change it but haven't gotten around to it.

Avatar is my son showing off his Angus Bunny in the kitchen at our house (although I'd have to double check on that - it's been a while since I changed it).

Avatar is Marie from the Disney movie "The Aristocats", I chose it because it went with my username and I am a total cat person. Plus Marie is sassy and cute and I like her.

Username is my initials and my nickname since I was a baby "tada". When I was born my dad called me his little "sweet pah-tada" (sweet potato) which morphed into just "Tada". I had friends and family that legitimately thought it was name for years since no one ever called me anything else. My family calls my kids "tada tots" and my brother called me "turda" growing up. 

My avatar is a picture of my daughter sleeping with her butt sticking up in the air, with a cupcake picture on her pants. My nanny sent me that picture when I was still working and it made my entire day.

I like this post idea and reading all the stories! Nothing super exciting or creative over here though... mine is my initials and some numbers that represent my birthday, and my avatar is me on my honeymoon. Before it was my husband and me kissing with champagne, which I chose because we're silhouettes (aka anonymous) and it's sweet, but after awhile I felt it was too show-offy and changed it. So, if someone who knows me wanted to track me down on here, they probably could with some sleuthing, but I hiiiiighly doubt anyone would do that.

@Dcwtada Oh good, I finally know how to read your name. I thought it was like "tah-dah!" till now. Also LOL at your brother's take on your nickname. Aren't brothers the best? One of mine called me dorkus malorkus (no idea where the second part came from) for a good few years.

Also pretty boring over here.  AB is my home province, mommy 15 because I became a mom in 2015.  Avatar is one of my favourite pics of my dog when he was a puppy.
