@BertieMeetsGertie that's awesome you got a lot done yesterday. Non-crazy Thursdays feel pretty amazing.

CS/Q: What do you ladies think will be mentally easier, POAS before my beta or just waiting on the call back? Which will be that same day around 2:30.
GTKY: What are some book recommendations for us/what are you reading right now?
I chose this GTKY for selfish reasons as I need book recommendations. I love all genres. If you like paranormal romance, my favorite series is Richelle Mead's Succubus series.
@bluejeanbabi05 enjoy your massage!!!! That sounds like a good way to start the weekend! I want to say wait for the call back, but I personally have no willpower so it would drive me mentally crazy. That's probably not helpful... sorry!
@bluejeanbabi05 That is such a tough call. I personally POAS all the time. It's nerve-raking either way I think! What if it's negative but it was just too early and the beta is positive? Then you are sad. But you also know it could be inaccurate. I guess if it were me, I would test because there is always this hope that is *will* be positive.
Month/Cycle: 1/1
CD/DPO: I guess around 7 DPO / CD 19
Timing: I have no idea
Testing: I already POAS and was bfn (obviously) because I told myself if I was feeling pregnancy symptoms then my hcg must be high enough to be positive... now I'm holding out until Tuesday to test (only have 1 test left)
R/R: Rant: I work until 3 pm. I was told explicitly that I do not receive overtime pay so it's my responsibility to clock out on time and go home. My boss just doesn't manage time well and I need him to approve this or that to send out, and I even warn him "I have to leave in 45 minutes", "I have to leave in 25 minutes", etc etc. And I always end up leaving late... The Handmaiden's Tale, another fav of mine
I'm currently reading "The Rise and Fall of the Yummy Mummy". It's not super deep but it's light and entertaining and I love how it is so realistic about motherhood/postpartum. I recommend it if you want light-hearted reading. Not going to be a classic by any means, but nice light fluffy chick lit.
@jess0211 I guess yesterday was a great day to get things done haha. I hope your kitty is OK

@julesdp a financial audit sounds awful, good luck!!!
@Sarahleh ugh, that sucks about your boss. That's not cool at all..have you tried to have a conversation with him/her about it? Sorry you're feeling so blah today! Hugs!
@TravelingCouple ooooo Hawaii trip! So fun! I told DH we needed to start planning a vaca.
@Sarahleh ugh, that sucks about your boss. That's not cool at all..have you tried to have a conversation with him/her about it? Sorry you're feeling so blah today! Hugs!
Not explicitly. I guess I thought all the countdowns to leaving was good enough. Today it was 2:58 and he told me to resend him a bunch of documents to review and edit and return to me, then I needed to fix up and send out (basically there was no effing way it was going to happen by 3pm)...and I heaved a big sigh. I think he heard it lol
I'm super nonconfrontational. I just go whine on the internet instead

Lol! I am soooo nonconfrontational too! I talk a big talk but.... and I audit as part of my job so you can guess how that goes!
R/R: I finally get to post today because I'm off! Really can't manage it when I have to work. I just lurk super late at night usually lol. Was supposed to be off on Tuesday as well but had to make up a day so this is my first off day this week.
CS/Q: Not really
GTKY: What are some book recommendations for us/what are you reading right now? Not sure if anyone shares my preference in book. Went through a long stint of reading mostly paranormal romance series that I'm kind of ashamed of. That's kind of winding down now though. The last book I read was actually 'Born a crime'. It's by Trevor Noah, the host of the daily show now. It's about his life.
@jess0211 I need some of your motivation, my office is a mess
@bluejeanbabi05 I wrote the above before I saw your post but my fav paranormal romance series are the black dagger brotherhood books and the immortals after dark series by Kresley Cole
@Sarahleh Your boss is ridiculous and does that because he knows you are a good worker. He is basically making you work overtime for free. I think next time you should just be like 'well I have to be out of here at 3 so that will have to wait for tomorrow'. If you start doing that he will get the point.
@Sarahleh ugh, that sucks about your boss. That's not cool at all..have you tried to have a conversation with him/her about it? Sorry you're feeling so blah today! Hugs!

What is your job?
I'm an exec assistant for a fundraising department for special projects in my city. There are only 2 of us in the department so basically that means I do everything (lol?)- fundraising, social media, scheduling, bookkeeping, editing (I'm the only American/native English speaker), advertising materials, etc etc.
@bluejeanbabi05 Ugh, that is a tough call. Personally I think I wouldn't test before. It's just... my heart is heavy with all the BFNs I had to face already so I am trying to avoid them. This way I could go to the beta with an open heart and see what happens (like letting nature run its course either way). If I POAS a BFN I can still get a positive beta (as far as I know) so it would just get me in a sad yet BSC mood. But that's just me, and whatever you decide to do, I am rooting for you so much That any way you choose, it would just be receiving the best news ever
@JulesDP That's gonna be some busy days for you than. OMG, GL!
Month/Cycle: 17/13-14 that counts
CD/DPO: 23/6
Timing: good enough
Testing: not until AF is late (deua on the 1st of Feb)
R/R: I've been working from home in the past few days due to being sick and have to tell you, it is much better than I expected I actually got a lot done (I'm there with you @BertieMeetsGertie on that) and just seeing our appartment in dayslight, the Sun gazing through the window.. Mmmm.. it just fills me with joy Maybe this sick leave from all the hustle was what I really needed. Tomorrow if all goes well I'm going back to the gym (crossfit box, actually) finally, OMG I miss workouts so much.

GTKY: What are some book recommendations for us/what are you reading right now?
Wow, it seems I'll have to read the Nightingale Hm, what would I recommend (that is also in English..;)...? For a very light read if you like detective stories: Janet Evanovich's series of Stefanie Plum as a bounty hunter
For more serious read/to make you think: Malcolm Gladwell: Blink, or Outliers.

Hey ladies, Just popping in to say its CD1 for me. Don't feel bad, I am so excited to get started with a medicated cycle and to get to use my diva cup that I did a little dance this morning. (yes I'm weird and I revel in it!)
@bluejeanbabi05 since your getting your beta at 12dpIUI I would probably wait till your beta. Especially if you have not tested out your trigger. My last RE did not want me to POAS until 16dpIUI, that was just cruel insanity, So I always tested on 14dpIUI, but they still wouldn't do a beta until 16dpIUI (they were worried about the trigger hanging out for a long time) I am rooting for you, fx so hard!!

@wabash15 I'm so thrilled you are moving to a medicated cycle!
@anna_1021 What a beautiful sentiment @bluejeanbabi05 I think it's all how you feel. I'd personally test that morning at home so that if it's bad news, I'm able to cry at home and not when I get the call at work. I pretend to be an emotionally strong person at work But there's no wrong answer -- just what's right for you.
@pinky917 Gahh I'm so sorry your body isn't cooperating. Has this ever happened before??
@Anna_1021 Is crossfit box different then the normal crossfit? I tried crossfit for one day and I literally could not walk for 3 days after!! Never again.
ETA- @bluejeanbabi05@wabash15 I use the diva cup and I really like it but it is a little painful for me when I take it out. However, it's soo nice not having to worry about changing a tampon or pad throughout the day because you can keep it in for up to 12 hours!
Month/Cycle: TTA until April
CD/DPO: 22/5
R/R: Even though I won't be POAS this cycle I am already having that impatient TWW feeling. I've always struggled with the "wishing my life away" problem but I just can't help but to want it to be April already!
CS/Q: Nope
GTKY: What are some book recommendations for us/what are you reading right now?
One of my all time favorite books is Man's Search for Meaning by Victor Frankel. It's very paychological and based on WWII concentration camps. I can read it over and over.
Testing: no point - started spotting this morning so tomorrow will be cd1. @pinky917 I hope you aren't in the same boat!
R/R: This morning I told one of my coworkers who I work really closely with. I wanted her to know because now that we are testing, I might need to randomly take time off or work from home on short notice. She was so unbelievably kind and supportive! I thought she would be but it was such a relief and she was so supportive without being a jerk (no "god's plan," no "just relax"). I am grateful for that.
CS/Q:
GTKY: What are some book recommendations for us/what are you reading right now? The best book I read recently was a memoir, Judy Brown's This is Not a Love Story. It's about a woman who grew up in a Hasidic family. Her younger brother was autistic which many in her community viewed as a curse for the fact that her parents fell in love rather than had a matchmaker pair them. Really excellent and compelling (probably TW though). I'm currently reading Benson's Queen Lucia, a classic a friend recommended by comparing it to Wharton's The Age of Innocence, which I love. It isn't grabbing me though.
I'm thrilled new people are joining book club too! Though once you do, you'll learn that I am not enthusiastic about The Nightingale like others are... I guess that's my UO Thursday
Testing: saturday if AF doesn't come tomorrow (which she will) (but temp was still high today so hopefully that's a good sign)
R/R: Everything is back to normal at work so I've started to get back into my routines, which is great! Also, DH and I are going to look at light fixtures for the house we're building this weekend and I'm really excited to look at all the options!
CS/Q: Not right now!
GTKY: What are some book recommendations for us/what are you reading right now?
Right now, I'm rereading The Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. I liked the trilogy a lot and felt like reading something familiar. In terms of non-YA stuff, though (I already offered recs for those in UO last Thursday I think!), I really loved Cutting for Stone and The Night Circus. I thought both were amazing novels!

@jess0211 I hope your kitty is okay. It's hard worrying about pets. @bluejeanbabi05 Enjoy the massage! @Sarahleh I don't know if I could handle The Handmaid's Tale right now! I think there is a movie or series (?) being made currently, or perhaps it's done? Will be watching for it.
Month/Cycle: 7/7
CD/DPO:
27/12
Timing:
-1, -2 apparently still not good enough
Testing:
BFN yesterday
R/R:
I've only been posting sporadically this week, mostly lurking. TTC stuff and non-TTC stuff is just overwhelming at the moment. I've been considering a Facebook break actually because the constant barrage of depressing things is just killing me lately. But on the other hand there are people I'd really miss "seeing" and keeping up with. Might have to do some more unfollowing at least.
CS/Q:
Big temp drop today, so I'll be back to CD1 probably tomorrow. I don't know what is/was up, but my temps seemed to run a good half degree lower this month in the TWW than ever before. Normal fluke?
GTKY: What are some book recommendations for us/what are you reading right now? I have to admit I totally forgot about the book club. lol I will try to jump back in at some point. Currently I'm reading The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.
@BertieMeetsGertie I haven't read the Nightingale but it's on my list! I'll read it next! @bluejeanbabi05 oooh I like paranormal romance I'll have to check that out! @JulesDP good luck getting everything done!! @Sarahleh I always get like that right around 7-8 DPO! My SS starts going crazy and I get convinced I am a special snowflayke and must be KTFU. I have to get my DH to hide my tests so I don't POAS! @Anna_1021 I love Blink and Outliers! @Pinky917 sorry your body is being all messed up right now! That's so frustrating! @wabash15 yay for a medicated cycle!!! FX that it really helps! @adirat sorry about the spotting and likely AF tomorrow. Hugs. Also, @lulu1180 and @TravelingCouple I'm so excited for this book club!
Me: 29 | DH: 30 Married since: May 2015 TTC #1 since August 2016 (also TTC for 3 months in Fall 2015)
@Sarahleh just wanted to jump in really quick and say my boss does the exact same thing. No overtime and waiting until the last second. Over it. I'm sorry you're going through that too
@JJMNO1616 Yeah, I see that I was confusing. I just meant that crossfit "gyms" are called "boxes" - for reasons beyond me.. I do regular crossfit, and I love it But I know, it is hard, especially if you jump into it suddenly. Luckily I had a great learning ground with previous classes I took, so for me the transition was smoother. I still struggle with a lot of wightlifting and gymnastics movement though.
@kmac09 Gladwell is great isn't he And I'm sorry, I totally missed something: you are building a house this weekend?
Me: 33, DH: 38 Married: May 2015 TTC since September 2015
@anna_1021 yes he is! And no, that sentence was unclear. Whoops. We are building a house (it will be done around June!), and we are going to look at light fixtures for it this weekend!
Me: 29 | DH: 30 Married since: May 2015 TTC #1 since August 2016 (also TTC for 3 months in Fall 2015)
R/R: So ready for this weekend! Need some time at home Going to lunch with my whole fam as soon as im off work for my aunts birthday.
CS/Q: No questions, I mostly mobile bump, and just went through all of the comments on my computer, and want to give an extra thanks to everyone. Its hard seeing everything and responding on the app!
GTKY: What are some book recommendations for us/what are you reading right now?
I have a ton! I would have to post later though, because I NEVER remember the titles of books! I tend to like true stories of traumatic filled childhoods. The psychology aspect of it fascinates me.
Me: 30 | DH:34 Married: 08/04/12 DD: 6 years | Born: 03/28/13 DS: 1 Year I Born 10/15/17
@Anna_1021 Ooo I didn't realize the gym was called a box! When I tried crossfit I went from total couch potato mode to lets do Crossfit. So I'm sure if I transitioned to Crossfit overtime after working out and preparing my body it wouldn't be as bad. I just didn't realize how hardcore it was going to be!
@alysapuggles sorry about the BFN. Hugs. Re the temps, are you putting your thermometer in the same spot in under your tongue as before? Your temp is highest to the side and all the way back and lowest at the front of your tongue.

R/R:Rant: I've been having some really weird dreams lately that have really messed me up in the mornings. They have all involved either combat, or serious bodily injury, and not to myself. It's horrible!!! I love my precious sleep, none of this please. Rave: my very sweet but too hardworking boss is taking a few days off, which is great for everyone! We get to catch up, he gets to get away.
CS/Q: none
GTKY: What are some book recommendations for us/what are you reading right now? This may sound very corny... I am not religious what so ever... but I have been reading Everyday a Friday by Joel Olsteen. Trying to change my negative mentality to help me stress less. I would recommend anyone read The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski. It was really great!
@jess0211 Good luck with the kitty...I'm forever going to use PMS-ish in your honor
@bluejeanbabi05 I'd POAS before beta, but only a cheapy test.
@JulesDP my poor coworker is in the same boat of the financial audits. I feel so bad for you guys dealing with that.
@Sarahleh aww sorry for the bfn. I don't get OT as I'm salary but I have had to learn to just pack up and leave. It's hard but you can only control what you can and if they are irresponsible then thats on them. Maybe put it in writing to "insure" your own job duties?
@pinky917 wahhhh body stoppppp! Hopefully everything is ok
@dragonfly817 *hugs* sorry hun, Wishing you the bestest this cycle!
@wabash15 gl! I know you were so excited for this one around! be well Also curious about the diva cup! do tell in time!
@kmac09 - *fingers crossed af doesnt come* and I love lighting and light fixtures. Sounds so peaceful and perfect
@alysapuggles I have had to do mass unfollowings... sorry but I just can't handle certain things right now and it helped. I feel alienated if I cut off completely.
@kmac09 Thanks for the temp info. Yes, I'm using the same spot I always have. I always just go straight under my tongue, but all the way back, if that makes sense. I've always done it like that so I guess I'm at least consistently inaccurate? lol

I'm super nonconfrontational. I just go whine on the internet instead
Month/Cycle: 12/13
CD/DPO: 23/8
Timing: -3,-2,-1,0,+1
Testing: Hopefully if I'm late
CS/Q:
GTKY: What are some book recommendations for us/what are you reading right now?
Wow, it seems I'll have to read the Nightingale Hm, what would I recommend (that is also in English..;)...?
For a very light read if you like detective stories: Janet Evanovich's series of Stefanie Plum as a bounty hunter
For more serious read/to make you think: Malcolm Gladwell: Blink, or Outliers.
Married: May 2015

CD/DPO: 21/8Timing: -5, -4, -2 Testing: NopeR/R: WTF body, why the hell am I spotting already?!?!?! It is way too early for that!! Between my super low temps earlier in the TWW and this, I don't know what the hell my body is doing.
CS/Q: --
GTKY: What are some book recommendations for us/what are you reading right now? Honestly, I have been slacking on my reading lately. I am enjoying hearing everyone else's recommendations right now! Maybe this will be enough to get me back on track!

@bluejeanbabi05 since your getting your beta at 12dpIUI I would probably wait till your beta. Especially if you have not tested out your trigger. My last RE did not want me to POAS until 16dpIUI, that was just cruel insanity, So I always tested on 14dpIUI, but they still wouldn't do a beta until 16dpIUI (they were worried about the trigger hanging out for a long time) I am rooting for you, fx so hard!!

also let us know how that diva cup is!
eta: TB ate my post. also wanted to add sorry for cd1 but it's exciting that you get to do a medicated cycle! Fx!
@safire3 Hope you enjoy your day off!!
@sarahleh You are hourly and you don't recieve overtime pay? Do you live in the US?
@travelingcouple Hawaii sounds awesome!! I wish I was planning a vacation. That's a wonderful distraction.
@jess0211 I hope everything with your cat is ok!
@bluejeanbabi05 I hope you enjoy your massage tomorrow! I've been thinking about buying one for myself soon. It's been far too long.
@bertiemeetsgertie Glad to hear you get to have a more relaxing day!
ETA- @bluejeanbabi05 @wabash15 I use the diva cup and I really like it but it is a little painful for me when I take it out.
Month/Cycle: 4/4
CD/DPO: 32/13
Timing: decent
Married since: May 2015
TTC #1 since August 2016 (also TTC for 3 months in Fall 2015)
@bluejeanbabi05 Enjoy the massage!
@Sarahleh I don't know if I could handle The Handmaid's Tale right now! I think there is a movie or series (?) being made currently, or perhaps it's done? Will be watching for it.
Month/Cycle: 7/7
CD/DPO: 27/12
Timing: -1, -2 apparently still not good enough
Testing: BFN yesterday
R/R: I've only been posting sporadically this week, mostly lurking.
CS/Q: Big temp drop today, so I'll be back to CD1 probably tomorrow.
Me: 36 DH: 41
@JulesDP so glad you are liking the nightingale! It's the best book I e read in a long, long time.

@travelingcouple ohhhh Hawaii? LUCKY!!!
@safire3 yay for days off!
