Good morning second tri ladies! This is my last second tri check in! Woot woot!

As you can see from my post time (it's 2:30 in the am here in California), pregnancy insomnia has hit. Lucky me. My three have kept me up with some lovely heartburn that actually turned into throwing up in my mouth a little. So pleasant. The past few nights I've started having trouble sleeping, mostly thanks to heartburn, so matter how upright I try to lay.

I have my next appointment tomorrow and it's with my new and final MFM. I'm excited and nervous to meet her. My mom is going to be meeting DH and me there as she is my second support person if the babies need to be whisked off to the NICU. He'll go with them and she'll come be with me for the rest of my surgery.

This is a big week in our house: We're moving! As soon as we found out it was triplets and they were all going to stick around, we knew we had to move closer to family. We have no one within about 90 miles, so staying in our current house was just not an option. I'm going to need way more help than DH can provide!

QOTW: I love my breakfast cereal: Quaker oatmeal squares. I have a large bowl as soon as I get up every single day! It had been on sale at my Albertsons for weeks, and I just found it yesterday at Target for the same price, so naturally I bought 12 boxes. That should last until the end of my pregnancy. Hopefully.

Hi 17w6d today with one little bean  I am probably going to jinx myself but heartburn seems to be taming down but Friday had a nice bout of vertigo that I have never experienced before and then Saturday was just a little funny feeling.  I think its over now but who knows if this is pregnancy related but according to Dr Google it can definitely be.  Also lately sleep has been hard, I am either wide awake at 3am or up early at like 6.  The early rising normally wouldn't be an issue but I was on vacation from work for the past week :(   Appointment this Friday for regular check.

QOTW: brown sugar pop tarts.  they are my morning rescue at work around 8-9am when breakfast hasn't cut it and I get very sad when I forget them at home.  I learned to bring in a few extras to stash in the cabinet  ;)

Hi, all! I am 24+3 today. My OB appointment last week went well, and our fetal echo with the MFM did, too. Now I'm just cruising along until our next appointment, which will be the glucose test. After coming off the diclegis and losing a few pounds, they gave me some Zofran to try. Hello crazy constipation! I'm never taking that stuff again!!! So I'm just working through my lingering nausea without meds for now.

@AandDM2014 How exciting to meet your final MFM! Best of luck with your move! I, too, have been having reflux that ends up in my mouth - really gross. And if we'd been in the same time zone, we could have been insomnia buddies last night! I was up from 2-4AM (eastern time) for no apparent reason.

@rmarble23 I am right there with you on the weird sleep schedule. I've been waking up around 3AM most nights, ready for it to be morning. And then other days I'll get up before my toddler even wakes up b/c I just can't get back to sleep. So much for catching some extra Zs before our babies get here!

QOTW: Even though I'm starting to finally get tired of it, mine is probably peanut butter. It's one of the only foods or sources of protein that I could stomach through the worst parts of my nausea in first tri. I've probably been eating peanut butter on something almost every day for the past 6 months!

Good morning lovely ladies!!! I'm 20+2 today and feeling really great actually. Other than lower back pain and an itchy, stretching tummy, I feel great and full of energy. It probably also helps that I can feel my little girl moving frequently which aways puts me in the best mood possible!

My next appointment is on Thursday (regular prenatal) and then we leave for Disney on Saturday for our baby moon! I'm so excited. We're staying at the Grand Floridian so we'll be right on the monorail for easy back-to-the-room access if I need a break from all the walking.

I already posted this in the randoms thread from last week, but this past weekend was mega shopping day for us with my in laws! We got ALL of our big ticket items, including car seat, stroller, all the nursery furniture (crib, glider + ottoman, dresser + changing topper, night stand, book shelf), and all of our crib bedding. Once all of our furniture and bedding gets here in 4-8 weeks I can't wait to start decorating!

Yesterday we unpacked and set up these beauties (City Mini GT and Nuna Pipa):

QOTW: The food I crave most often is definitely sushi. In fact, I just asked my friend who has lunch date plans with me today if we could switch to a sushi restaurant. Even though I'm only letting myself eat cooked rolls while pregnant, it's still my favorite thing ever. I wish I was brave enough to eat regular sushi like my sister did when she was pregnant, but I would feel guilty if anything did happen.

@AandDM2014 Happy moving week, good luck with the new MFM, and CONGRATS on graduating to 3rd trimester! I love my MFM so I understand how important it is to have a good specialist. Also sorry about the heart burn and insomnia! I get struck with insomnia about once or twice a week lately it seems.

Hi all, I'm 24 weeks with a girl. My husband finally felt her kick for the first time this past weekend!

@AandDM2014 good luck with your move!! I hope you have a million people helping you! I'm going through, like, a 3% version of that: we are starting a bathroom and closet demolition (which was supposed to have been done over this past summer, yikes), so this weekend we moved out of our bedroom, bathroom, and closet. It's all getting demolished so all of our stuff had to be redistributed awkwardly around the house. So we are now living in the baby's future room, which is a disaster-jumble of baby hand me downs and fragments of furniture and now our stuff. Plus we (and my belly, and my body pillow, and occasionally our dog) downgraded from our king sized bed to a full futon! The project will last at least two months, so the hopefully we'll have a few weeks afterwards to set up and move back into our room, and set up the nursery.

@BlueEyedDreamer I JUST got to the Peanut Butter Phase of pregnancy! The past few days I've been having--nay, needing--a scoop of peanut butter ice cream with a spoonful of actual peanut butter on it every night after dinner. But as boring as it is my most constant food item all pregnancy has been baby spinach. I throw fistfuls of it into most things I cook. I've eventually tired of all other food things but I can ALWAYS go for a bunch of spinach cooked down on a tortilla with a bit of cheese melted on top.

@rmarble23 I hope your heartburn stays away for a while! It is not fun.

@BlueEyedDreamer I'm glad everthing is going so well! I'm sorry you had some insomnia too. It sucks! Especially when all you really want to do is sleep! The last few days I've had it end up in my mouth, which is just plain nasty. I have peanut butter basically every day too!

@wifeinraleigh28 I hope you have a great time on your Disney World babymoon, but definitely don't overdo it, and make sure you stay hydrated! After my last visit to Disneyland (passes expired, didn't renew because uh triplets) I was so wiped. I don't know how obviously really pregnant ladies do it! I'm so happy for you that you don't have to worry about any nursery furniture or baby transportation items. Thank you! I'm excited to meet her and ask all my questions that I didn't get to ask my other one because I knew he wouldn't be delivering them. I'm excited for my mom to get to see the babies as well. So far she's only gotten to see the pics that are printed, but tomorrow she'll get to see the whole ultrasound! I know the heartburn isn't going anywhere, but I hope the insomnia doesn't stick around. It's not a super huge deal since I don't work, but it would still be nice to be able to keep a normal schedule!

@cato99 Yay, I'm glad your DH got to feel baby girl! We are totally paying someone to pack and move us! The only things I have to worry about are packing clothes in a suitcase for Thursday and Friday, our toiletries that we'll need for those days, and then a few small misc things around the house. On moving day I'll pack the coolers with food (assuming the moving company doesn't), but have them move it to my car. Oh my word, I can't imagine going down to a full size bed for that long! We have a Cal King, and sometimes I don't have enough space between snuggle husband and needy cat. I hope you find a way to stay comfy.

Hi ladies! I am 26w5d and feeling pretty good. I started snoring this week (bad enough that DH got no sleep for 2 nights) but think a lot of it was congestion related to the crazy temperature changes we've had in Texas over the last couple of weeks (80 degrees to 28 degrees and back to 80 again). But sleeping with an extra pillow to keep my head elevated seems to have done the trick. And got the heartburn too, so am being careful of what I eat close to bedtime especially.

We we had our 24 week appointment a week ago. Good news - I passed my 1 hour glucose challenge

    Ugh. Half my post deleted!
And ultrasound shows babies growing well with good weights. They did say that baby A has a little extra amniotic fluid and her left kidney is slightly dilated...I'm not too worried but still hope it's better on next ultrasound. My belly measured a month ahead (for a singleton) so I'm going to be huge by the time they come

@Happydays13 Ah the snoring. Apparently I do it loudly enough for my MIL to think that it's DH. Luckily for me DH thinks it's cute, and isn't bothered by it even a little bit (he can sleep through fireworks going off for like 10 minutes less than half a mile away). Glad you passed your GTT!

    Ugh. Again!

@AandDM2014 - sounds like your move is going to go like clockwork and congrats on moving to 3rd tri... I'll see you there in a couple of weeks!

@cato99 - I hope you have a smooth renovation and get back to your king bed soon...I'm sharing with my belly, the snoogle, DH, and 2 cats so it gets crowded!

@wifeinraleigh28 - so nice of your in laws to take care of so many of the essentials! That must give you so much peace of mind...now you can relax and enjoy your babymoon!

im also in the 3am club...mostly wake up because I have to pee, then feel hungry, then awake for 2 hours. Which gets rough on work days when I have to be awake by 6.

QOTW: I'm also a peanut butter fan. It was one of the few things that tasted good first tri, and is still a regular snack: melted on toast, spread on a banana, and I laughed when I opened this thread since I had just sat down with a bowl of apple slices with peanut butter to dip them in.

@Happydays13 I sure hope it goes smoothly! I don't foresee any big hiccups. Luckily my parents are down near the new house and are making sure it is ready for us on Thursday! I'm sorry insomnia has hit you too. Ugh! I get up to pee at least 6 times a night, sometimes before I even get to fall asleep the first time! I have taken naps the last two days, so maybe that is messing with me.

@AandDM2014 - thank you! I was actually pretty worried about the GTT. Was a little overweight to start with, am considered a "geriatric pregnancy" (hate that term), and having twins...so thought I wouldn't pass for sure. My husband is Indian and his mom told me to drink this spice called ajwain steeped in water (like a tea) that helps regulate sugar but also helps with digestion, so have no idea if that affected anything but does seem to help with indigestion...so it's a win-win!

Almost 19 weeks here. Have my anatomy scan for the twins later this week. We didn't do genetic testing so I'm very nervous about  all the "what ifs" (i.e. downs, dwarfism, etc.) Our results from the genetic counseling related scan (NT ?) aren't in yet then again they told us no news is good news. Only people at high risk get told within days if there's an issue. (Ours was about 2 weeks ago). That being said that test wasn't definitive at all. I'm open to amnio if there's an issue detected. Then again I'm getting ahead of myself. Sigh. Happy MLK Day to all!!

I am 21 weeks and 1 day today with B/G twins. I have been down for the count for almost a week now with a cold. I am on the fence if I should call my PCP to make sure it isn't something more as it has only gotten worse not better. I have also joined all of you who have found that you snore recently. DH had some insomnia last night and I kept hearing him, so I asked if everything was okay because he was being loud. He joked and said "I dont know how you could hear me over your snoring". I have never snored a day in my life, I hope it's just this cold. I do not have any appointments this week, we have another A/S on the 25th with an OB Appt. They couldnt see the hearts very in detail due to having the anatomy scan at 19 weeks, so they will be checking that next week. I have an A/S every 4 weeks until 3rd trimester then I go to every 2 weeks. Each one they allot for 90 minutes, so I am guessing they measure everything every time.

QOTW: I crave sweets and cheese. I have loved ice cream this whole pregnancy (especially McFlurries). I have been eating a lot of cereal the past few weeks and cookies! I have craved mozzarella sticks the whole pregnancy also.

    Hi all,
Wow you are all so busy with moving, renovations and holidays!
I'm 15 weeks along and feeling fantastic. Not sleeping quite as well as I used to but nothing to complain about yet. I'm just enjoying feeling good and waiting for the next symptoms to start. I know it's super early but I've been spending a bunch of time hand on belly trying desperately to feel fluttering. Haven't felt anything for sure yet but it's making me feel more connected to my little bean.
I had an exercise consultant yesterday and feeling much more confident knowing what I can and can't do.
We are going on holiday next week to Australia (we live in New Zealand but used to live in Melbourne) for a wedding and to catch up with friends and eat lots of delicious food! Looking forward to some good Greek and Vietnamese food. New Zealand has fantastic food but we live in a small city so some food/ingredients are hard to find.

QOTW I am pretty food obsessed but I like a lot of variety. We hardly ever eat typical "kiwi" meals like steak and veggies, I love Mexican, Vietnamese, Japanese foods... My partner is a fantastic cook and he loves cooking. We also have a garden and I love eating anything we have grown - so satisfying and delicious eating freshly picked food! Right now the strawberries, tomatoes and basil are in season - yum! I can't wait to teach our children to grow and eat vegetables, I think it's a great way to get kids excited about good food!

@JaneJane I hope your AS goes well!

@kelrauh It's interesting to see how different doctors handle different patients. I find it a bit odd that you're getting like 6-10 AS! And that they're going to take so long each time! My I guess old doc now, looks at them all every time, but it's no more than 10 minutes, usually not even that long! Mmm cheese!

@Nellin I'm glad you're feeling good! You'll feel flutters inside before you can feel them outside for sure. I'm way jealous that you have a garden! I hope to start one this spring!

@Nellin - I meant to ask...where are you in New Zealand? I got to live there for 6 months for work and loved every minute of it :-) I still feel like it's as close to heaven as you can get on earth...but there are definitely towns where the variety of food is limited.  I did get to visit Australia a couple of times while I was there but didn't get to see Melbourne. I've heard it's lovely but they were having massive fires at the time (early 2009)...so bad we could see the haze from the plane as we we were flying into Sydney.

Hope you you enjoy your trip!

@AandDM2014 Yay third trimester! So happy for you. Good luck with your move. At least you have the perfect excuse not to help a lot haha! I understand about wanting to be closer to people to have help with babies. We are only having one baby, but I am very much aware of how lonely this experience will be. My mom died when I was 7 and my dad is so not into babies. My husband's mom is great, but she lives across the country. Luckily, she is planning to come stay with us a couple of weeks in May once she finishes her school year.  I hope you get all the support you need!

@Nellin That sounds like a fun trip! Australia and New Zealand are on my list of places to visit! And I hear ya on the Greek food. . . unfortunately, since I can't eat feta, I haven't had much of a desire for Greek.

@kelrauh I hope you feel better soon. I have been dealing with some sinus stuff this week myself. Nothing major, but I will probably pick up some Mucinex today.

I am 25 weeks today, and baby boy is doing great! We went today and talked to one of the midwives. I feel much better about delivering at the hospital having talked with her through my concerns. Baby boy's heart was beating at 152. I go back in 3 weeks and will do another glucose test (I did an early one because I have PCOS). Otherwise, I am trying to decide how to stagger major purchases. Like I said, aren't many people in the family to spoil Baby rotten, so we are (excitedly) purchasing everything. We have three months left, so I'd like to buy the crib this month, the dresser next month, and the stroller the month after. My sweet church friends are throwing me my first shower in February! I'm hoping for lots of diapers!!

QOTW: Scrambled eggs are my morning go to right now. I feel like if I start with them, I'm off to a healthy start!

If you're off for Dr. King's day, enjoy it! I know I am!

@clt2pwm11 Thanks! I hope it goes smoothly and I get to do a lot of sitting around watching! You should definitely look for a group of ladies in your area who are having babies around the same time you are! I know the BRU near where we're moving has a breastfeeding class that is a pretty tight knit group. I've also found one on Facebook. I hope that having your MIL for a few weeks is helpful for you! Your plan for staggering purchases sounds great! We bought one dresser back at I think the end of November (I had a coupon) and have been holding off on getting the rest until after we move, but I'm sure my mom and I will plan a trip to IKEA soonish to get the other two. I hope your first shower comes with lots and lots of diapers!!

Everyone sounds like they are doing well! I'm 15w2d and this will be week 3 of battling a cold. It's just really bad congestion and sinus pain at this point - may see my PCP this week if nothing improves.  I want to taste and smell again.

I've been researching items and have been building a registry list for myself. We don't plan on buying anything until we buy a house this spring, then it will be one huge buying spree. Praying that we find something and can move by May/June! I also finally convinced DH to go on a baby moon, so we are planning on going to Palm Springs, CA in late March to enjoy some sunshine and warm weather.

QOTW: I have mostly lost my appetite because of this cold, but string cheese is still doing it for me. And cut up raw veggies like cucumbers or bell peppers.

@kelrauh and @mjacks16 Ugh, sorry about the colds. I had one at the start of my 2nd trimester that lasted over 2 weeks and I was completely miserable. The sinus problems that come with being pregnant period make it so much worse too. I hope you both start to feel better soon.

Hi ladies! I am 14 weeks and 7 days today. Pregnancy wise, I have been feeling pretty good. My symptoms are almost all gone (which freaks me out) other than being out of breath easily, I feel good! I am starting some sort of a cold too, doing my best to rest up and avoid getting sick.

Its only been 2 weeks since my last sono- and it already feels like forever. This is the longest stretch I have had to go, and I have 5 more weeks until another sono. Is that normal??? Sono at 13 weeks, and then not another one until 20 weeks? At 17 weeks I got for an OB check up and doppler of the heartbeats.

QOTW: My new craving is lemonade. So strange lol I drink it first thing in the am and go back frequently throughout the day. Tastes so amazing to me

@Colleen0516 - I did not have a full sono at my OB until my A/S at 19 weeks. So I went from 9 weeks to 19 weeks without a full sono. The doctor used the pocket ultrasound to locate heartbeats (since she couldn't distinguish with doppler). We didnt have any measurements or the heart rate with those, she just made sure their hearts were beating.

@Colleen0516 Yep, the sono spacing you're having is completely normal. We're used to getting them all the time when we're at the RE, but throughout pregnancy you really don't get them that often! My first sono with my OB was at 9 weeks, then I didn't get another until 18 weeks (anatomy scan). My next one will be at 22 weeks because I'm doing a fetal echo, but honestly I don't even know when/if I'll have any after that! They haven't mentioned any others to me. Maybe only if there are problems? I do get the doppler at all of my monthly prenatal appointments though, which is (somewhat) reassuring, lol.

Hi Everyone! I am 14 weeks and 2 days with twins:) Symptoms have been easing up, I'm still getting up a million times to pee and am really tired, but nausea is pretty much gone.
Because of my age (34), twins, and a couple other factors I am seeing a MFM as well as my OB. I go to him every two weeks so I feel lucky that I get to have a sono every two weeks. We are finding out the gender but not sure when we will. I'm sure as soon as he can see something he will tell us. I have my second ob appointment this Thursday and then another sono with my MFM on Monday.

@taradise99 I found out the sexes from my MFM at about 15 weeks.

@Colleen0516 For a normal singleton pregnancy, most ladies get like 2, maybe 3 ultrasounds. We've been spoiled by weekly ones from an RE. Since you're having twins, I'd imagine you'd have more than that. I'd ask your doc what they'll order for you!
