Thoughts on Family Names

We are trying to decide between two family names for a girl.
They both have significant meaning and are special to us. Big sis is Everleigh so obviously we like "trendy youneek" names too!
Middle name will most likely be Jayne but we like Grace as well. (Both are also family names)

McCartney

Meredith

Which would you choose?

I agree with others that Meredith is very nice. If you have a certain attachment to McCartney, I think it would work well as a middle name.

Easily Meredith: unique, pretty and timeless. McCartney just doesn't roll off the tongue nicely and is clunky as a first name.

Meredith for sure.
McCartney just doesn't work as a first name IMO. I know you said it's a family name but to someone who didn't know the history behind it you'd look a Beatles fangirl. I'd save it for a middle.

I'm into the "surnames as first names" trend (DD is Ainsley, Harper and Cassidy were in the running), but for me, Meredith is the clear winner your two names. The Beatles were such an iconic band, so when you say McCartney, that's where my mind goes. I definitely think someone names McCartney would hear a lot of Beatles references. However, I can understand wanting to use both names that are significant to you!

That all being said, I would do Meredith Grace-McCartney.

Am I the only Grey's fan around here? Lead character is Meredith... hospital used to be Seattle Grace. But with that said, I would never side eye Meredith Grace or think the baby was named after the show. Just sounds like a coincidence.

Out of the two, Meredith is the clear winner.  

My preference would be Meredith Jane (but without the random 'y').  Meredith Grace is also lovely.
