Why my SO is amazing or an a-hole!

We haven't done this is awhile!

What has your SO done to help out or to show his/her love? What raves do you have?

 And the opposite- what have they done to piss you off lately?

My DH has been both. He's worked until 10pm or later for a week now. Including the weekend. But that's not entirely his fault. It's just a super busy week. But I wish he'd prioritize time with me right now to help get ready for Christmas and also because I suffer from seasonal depression and it gets really lonely at home when the sun goes down by 5pm. 

More recently, as in this morning, he set his alarm clock for an hour before mine went off and proceeded to snooze for an hour and not get out of bed or shut it off. So I lost an hour of sleep for no reason because I just laid there wanting to punch him in the face but thinking he was going to get up and I could go back to sleep. But no. He just sleeps through the alarm for an hour except when I smack him to turn it off and he just hits snooze and goes back to sleep. Ugh. 

On the flip side, he knows his long work weeks are getting to me and took me on a date this past weekend to a nice restaurant and intentionally carved out some time. Then went back to work. But at least I got some time with him.

@HGRich I want to punch my DH when he hits snooze, too!! Why doesn't he just set it for when he actually gets up??

I had a busy few days and the house has been neglected. My DH tells me when I get home from work, "The house looks terrible! I've never seen it this bad!" Cause I really have the time and energy right now for this...

But he's awesome in other ways! He's been more excited this pregnancy (knowing the gender) than the previous two so he's not a complete jerk.

Mu husband has been great about pretty much everything. I have been sleeping crappy at night and he's been letting me sleep in or nap when ever he doesn't have to work.  He also took our 4 year old daughter out to eat tonight then took her to the mall, let her play at the arcade and got her a toy at Target so I could go out to dinner with friends with out feeling guilty. she loves one on one time with my husband and he is so good about doing stuff with her like this at least once a week just the two of them.

@HGRich and @pinkshades05 to go along with your alarm stories, it BUGS me when DH gets up and starts the shower, but then comes back to bed for what feels like an eternity! He wakes up at least an hour before I do and I wake up every morning!

But other than that, he's been pretty amazing. I have not been myself this pregnancy. Definitely different than my pregnancy with DS. The housework is lacking, even my time with the kids is lacking. And he has been pretty amazing. He knows that it's tough for me right now and I will get to the chores, it just might take longer. He hasn't complained about how much time in spending in bed or sleeping, which is nice, because I even feel guilty.

DH does not usually have to get up before I do, but when he does he does this exact. same. thing.  It drives me nuts because I'm wide awake after his first alarm goes off. Just get up when your freakin' alarm goes off!! It's really not that hard.  (In total he has been pretty amazing during this pregnancy though!)

Yes, this!!!  DH starts the shower so it'll get hot, but in the mean time he leaves the bathroom door open and gets his clothes ready.  Its like really dude "you can't close the freakin' door so I can't hear the water running?" Or how about you get your clothes, then start the shower and wait...like normal people!

DH is being an a-hole here lately. I won't get into specifics, but he's just driving me nuts and being super critical about chores and stuff with DS while he doesn't help with any of that, when I work more than full time and have been sick for the last week. I want to punch him in the face. Bah. It wouldn't irritate me so much except for the fact that he works from home and it would be super easy for him to do little things around the house during the day, but he's expecting me to get DS from daycare, do the grocery shopping, cook dinner, clean the house, do the laundry, etc., when I get home from a 12 hour workday. Okay, end rant.

LOVE: My husband made us a 6foot long farmhouse style table for the kitchen! It turned out great and we will get to stain it together. This was his first major wood making project. He picked out the blueprint and bought all the supplies on his own. It made me feel so special. Also, it only cost us 80$ in materials when we were looking at bigger tables for over 500$. 

HATE: He will leave our toddler's sippy cups around without rinsing them out. As if I don't have enough messes to clean up each day, I have to worry about gross, curdled or sticky ick. Rinse them when she is done!

H has been great. This morning he wrote I love you in the frost on my windshield. He's been great about realizing that I'm tired and lacking motivation, he hasn't once complained about the dishes piling up on the counter or dinner being thrown together at the last minute. I do wish he'd do more to pick up the slack, but I really can't expect much from him when he's gone 12 hours a day and comes home exhausted.

My DH is amazing! He gets up before me every day to make sure that coffee is made. He heats up my vehicle. He put up Xmas lights just because I really wanted them. He makes dinner several night a week. He's just amazing!

My DH is amazing because he cooks all of our meals. I absolutely HATE cooking and even though I work from home and it would be way easier for me to do it, he cooks a few times a week so we always have dinner ready (although half the time we have leftovers, but I am fine with that). He also does the grocery shopping (another chore I despise). He has also been very understanding lately about my chores not getting done on time, dishes piling up, etc. because I have just been such an anxious mess.

@kitkat8387 that's awesome! I will say that while my husband doesn't cook or do the grocery shopping, he will feed himself without complaint or comment if he comes home and finds me asleep on the couch instead of making dinner. I hate cooking and grocery shopping too, and he's come to accept that. Haha! Love that your H will pick up slack for you. Mine is working on it, but his mother served him hand and foot for years until we were married and it's taken the last four years of marriage for me to help him realize I'm not like his mother in that respect. Lol.

No complaints about DH, he's been amazing throughout this whole pregnancy, it really made me love him more. Every time I throw up he's always right there with a bottle of water and back rubs. He always lets me sleep in and take naps when I'm exhausted. If I mention offhand something I'm craving, he will either come home with it if he's out, or will offer to go out to pick it up if he's home.  He will run me a foot bath if I've had a long day at work. He's been taking care of household chores that I've been slacking on. I never have to ask him for anything, all of what he does is completely unsolicited. He always makes sure I'm as comfortable as I can be. I'm so grateful for him beyond words
