R/R: Got this for DH for our four year dating anniversary tomorrow, which DH no longer wants to celebrate. It plays Canon in D, the song like everyone walks down the aisle to. It's tomorrow, but he has a 24 hour shift. Every year we go to the same restaurant and sit at the same table as our first date. The second time it was a coincidence; last year they forgot our reservation and gave the table away, but this year we will hopefully get it back when we go two days late on Friday.
CS/Q: I ovulated!! I finally got an OPK that was truly positive yesterday, too.
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like?
I don't get home until like between 8:30-10 most nights, so I eat dinner and get to bed or maybe shower so I don't have to in the morning. I have had crazy insomnia lately and I know it's anxiety-induced. The lack of sleep also makes the anxiety a million times worse. I need at least 8-9 hours to feel decent. I'm gonna have a rough time with a newborn if I go back to work after 6 weeks. I hope that gets changed on a federal level soon!

WAYDTGKU: Sex, Vits, I think I may try temping vaginally (see GTKY)
R/R: Well CD 1 and I'm an emotional wreck which is typical for me. Yesterday I talked about DH only showering in the morning and the rest of the morning work load being left up to me. This morning he showered and made coffee - I don't think he caught on. I meant besides me taking the two little dogs out to pee, feeding the horses in the freezing cold, then taking our lab out for her training session, and feeding the dogs maybe he could wake up a bit earlier and try feeding the horses ? Maybe taking Rhya out for a 15 minute training session ? Anyways it ended up in me crying hysterically so I think he will probably do a bit more tomorrow morning. We shall see. Oh how I would love to have someone else do all the work on a cold November morning while I take a nice warm shower......... every fucking day !
CS/Q:
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? I am a really deep sleeper. I rarely dream. My head hits the pillow and I am out like a light. I have no idea if I sleep with my mouth opened or closed. I know I move around a lot. Thinking about trying to temp vaginally this month. Thoughts ?

@FLAshley Sorry about CD1. I hope YH starts pitching in soon! My emotional wreckness is actually when I ovulate instead of when AF shows since my hormones are insane. Between sweating and my short fuse yesterday, I knew I was about to O. I don't temp vaginally, so a I can't help there. I sleep with my mouth open a lot, especially if I'm stuffy. Wearing my night guard helps and either way, I'm still able to see quite the temp jump.

@NYTino24 I get emotional during O as well ! I really need to try to keep together or sexy time isn't very sexy. I always thought I was a very moody person but I guess I'm just very hormonal (or at least that's what I'm going with ). Glad to see you've O'd. Hope you don't come back here when you leave !!

WAYDTGKU: BD, charting, PNV, synthroid, Vit D, trying mucinex this cycle
R/R: I went to my RE yesterday for a follow up saline sono to see if my fibroid removal surgery was successful. Looks like there's still a bit of the fibroid poking into my ute but the Dr. said it might not be "medically significant" -whatever that means. Still waiting to hear back on if we can continue to try on our own again for a little bit before we move on to fertility treatment.
CS/Q: Trying mucinex this cycle- for anyone else who has done this, do you usually take one dosage per day during your fertile window only?
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? I usually try and get to sleep pretty early since I wake up at 5am for work. I don't have trouble falling asleep but I definitely have trouble staying asleep.
R/R: Its weird...we have never had issues but last night I had anxiety-induced performance anxiety, like, it couldnt happen. This better go away, fast.
@NYTino24 Glad to see you finally got your blaringly positive OPK!
@FLAshley So sorry for CD1! Also, if YH generally doesn't do well with subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) hints, I would just straight out tell him that you would like help with X, Y and Z. Hope he helps out soon!

WAYDTGKU: waiting for my Dr appt
R/R: Thank you again to everyone for the kind words yesterday. Right now, knowing that my appointment is so soon is one of the few things that are keeping me from giving in to hopeless despair. At this point, I would be completely ok with an unsuccessful cycle if it could just be normal!
CS/Q: only if someone has goggles that can tell me why my body is such a jerk
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? I typically go to bed any time between 10 and 11 and get up with my alarm just after 6. More recently, I have been tossing and turning in my sleep more than usual and I feel like it's due to TTC anxiety. I would love to get a great night's sleep where I sleep through the whole night!

R/R: spent a lot of money yesterday but Christmas decorations since it's the first year in a house! Yay and oops at the same time.
CS/Q: I see some people take magnesium. Why?
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? Horrible. I get sleepy around 7pm but way too early for bed. But then I'm wide awake until at least midnight. Makes getting up at 4:30 for runs rough. And I don't sleep soundly. I wake up several times a night. And I'm an extremely light sleeper. One of my moms fav stories is when I was little, one of my brothers hamsters got out & I woke up because I heard it scurrying across the carpet. I also have weird habits. I have to have my pillow & stuffed animal with me(the stuffed animal isn't nostalgic. I sleep with it under my shoulder because of back problems). But my pillow has traveled around the world! I also hate sleeping in front of people. It took me a long time to get comfy with H. And when I travel with friends they know that I prefer my own bed or to put a pillow barrier between us. I have issues lol
WAYDTGKU: PNV, OPK, BBT, preseed, GDTPT, things like that
R/R: Meh. I feel like I'm just phoning it in this cycle. With how travel timing works this cycle, my hopes are low. So I alternate between feeling like it's a good thing to give myself a bit of a break from chugging tea and stuff and beating myself up for not giving myself the best chance possible.
CS/Q: nah
GTKY: Not so good lately. I've been doing a lot of tossing and turning and waking up early with my mind just obsessed with my to do list.

@FLAshley So sorry about CD1 I hope your H does better about helping out with morning chores tomorrow. I like temping vaginally, of course I never tried orally so I have nothing to compare it to.
R/R: Just had my b/w and u/s so now I'm waiting for the call with the results to schedule trigger and IUI. I asked the u/s tech how everything looked and she just said 'a couple of small ones on each side'. I feel like that wasn't good news but I should hear back soon.
CS/Q: I am also curious about mucinex. What type do you use and when do you take it?
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? I can fall asleep very easily but I will often wake up in the middle of the night and struggle to fall back asleep.

CS/Q: I'll start temping again tomorrow but I kinda feel there's no point this month other than to track my ovulation; work conference has me flying out on -3 so I'd only get -4 and -5 for timing. It is what it is!
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? I tend to go to bed around 10 or 10:30 and I get up at 6:15, weekends I'll stay up until around 11:30 and I'll be up by 9am. I thrash sometimes and talk in my sleep.
R/R: I'm trying to cut down my drinking this cycle to see how that works. I miss my nightly glass of wine! Also we are trying it "DH's way" this month which has meant HIO ED so far

During the week I go to bed at 10 and get up at 5:30. Then I'm exhausted and sometimes fall asleep on the couch at like 7:30 and can't go back to sleep later. On the weekends I'll stay up later and sleep in later. I should stay more consistent on the weekends, but I don't.

R/R: Hey everyone. I took a break from the bump last month after I hit my year of trying mark. I also finally saw an RE (it is a long wait here in Ontario) and after doing every test under the sun I have been diagnosed with "unexplained infertility." DH has high sperm count with low motility. I just needed a break and time to wallow. But I'm back now and trying to be optimistic. I'm also starting Femara, so far no weird side effects. I'm interested to see if it will have any effect on my crazy cycles.
CS/Q: Not today.
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? I need 9 hours to function. I put DS to bed at 7:30 and read my book for an hour and sleep 8:30-7:00 and get up with DS and get ready for work.
Hi ladies-this is my first post on the WTO thread...moving over from TWW today.
Month/Cycle: 3/3
CD: 1
WAYDTGKU: Charting BBT/CM, OPKs, PNV
R/R: Honestly, glad to be onto a new cycle after my wonky chart had me obsessing last month. Hoping for better things and less BSC this cycle.
CS/Q: CD1-nothing to see here
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like?: Fairly crap. I was always a night owl, staying up til 1-2am. A few years ago I went through a bout of insomnia, and was only sleeping from around 3am-6am nightly (and somehow holding up surprisingly well!?). That resolved, and now I fall asleep at a relatively normal midnight-ish, but sleep SO lightly, every little noise wakes me up and I toss and turn all night. I want to invest in a nice mattress topper and some new memory foam pillows to see if it helps!
WAYDTGKU: charting/temping, checking CM. I need to start OPK'S but I haven't yet.
R/R: hoping that the only slightly dip in temp today means I ovulated 2 days ago. Won't be good for timing if so (-5 and -3) but at least I would have ovulated. hoping temp stays up tomorrow for FF confirmation.
CS/Q: I'll wait till tomorrow if need be.
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like?
I'm a light sleeper for the most part. I try to go to bed early but do not always get there.
@NYTino24: Such a sweet gift and Happy Anniversary! Also Yay for a positive OPK!
@FLAshley I just switched to temping vaginally. I also sleep really soundly most nights, but DH said I do mouth breath sometimes. Not counting this past weekend (see CS/Q), I found that my temps were far less erratic this month, so I'm sure it had to do with the readings being more accurate.
Month/Cycle: 2/2
CD: 22
R/R: Rave: DH and I had an amazing weekend in Napa! Very relaxing, and perfect for HIO ED! Rant: I do not want to be home and going back to work today. Plus, the trip definitely messed with my BBT, so I don't really know for O day
CS/Q: FF gave me dotted crosshairs today (and I had positive OPKs Saturday and Sunday - first month using them, so I don't know any trends for my cycle). I'm not sure how reliable the O date is (my temping was all wonky this weekend, what with the travel, later nights, and lots of wine) - Friday morning I wasn't thinking and had packed my thermometer so had to skip temping. Saturday night we drank a fair bit of wine, and quite late into the evening - which means I don't know if Sunday's spike is a wine spike (you can see from CD5/6, I get very definite weekend wine spikes), or an O spike. Any suggestions?
ETA: I don't know if it makes a difference, but I had the positive test late afternoon on Saturday (4ish) and then again Sunday morning (10ish), followed by a negative in the late afternoon (4ish again).
GTKY: Other than when I'm travelling, I'm generally really regular with my sleep. I like to go to bed early (like, 10-11) and then wake up around 6:30/7. Even on weekends, sleeping in is maybe 8am? I also am lucky and sleep quite soundly, although I do get random nights were I have trouble - and then it's a LOT of trouble, both falling asleep and staying asleep.
Hey @hartmich, just wanted to send some encouragement about the year-clock resetting. I consider the guidance as seeking assistance after a year without a *successful* pregnancy. A loss is not a successful pregnancy and your year of trying should not be reset because you were able to conceive. It will give some guidance to any testing if you go that route but it shouldn't reset the clock. I doubt you will hear any resistance on that from your doctor but in case you do please advocate for yourself. GL today!!

@virginiaham Thank you! That makes me feel better. My doctor is pretty awesome but we haven't obviously discussed possible IF yet so I just don't know how she will be. I like how you phrased that - that if we get to 12 months without a successful pregnancy I'd want to start testing etc. Thanks again.
WAYDTGKU: stuff, but I won't ovulate for a few weeks anyway. We also started testing...that's been a blast.
R/R: I've been MIA because I have been a crabby, emotional, pain in the ass the last week or so. We had a crappy week last week, and I'm still not over it.
My Dr called with H's SA results and they were not at all good. We're still waiting on the labs to be mailed, but I don't think seeing it in writing is going to make it any better. He has a "severe" low count, and has been referred to a urologist. We'll be requesting (even if the urologist doesn't require one) another SA to confirm, but at this point it looks like if we can't get his count up via surgery, reduced stress, and/or vitamin and dietary changes, IVF might be our only solid option.
He has a job interview Weds, which would go a long way in the stress reduction category, so hopefully that pans out.
I went in for my bw on Saturday, so now I'm just sitting over here, impatiently tapping my fingers and hoping that everything on that came back okay.
CS/Q: Nope.
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? Not great, I wake up multiple times a night. Lately I've also been waking up drenched in sweat, which is super wonderful. I'm going to change some things around with our bedding and see if it helps, but I hate H's bed and want a new one.
R/R: I didn't buy a single thing on cyber monday and I'm very proud of myself.
CS/Q: nope
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? DH and I go to bed around 9pm on weeknights. Our alarm goes off at 4:45. He falls asleep almost instantly (the jerk). It takes me at least 30 minutes. Also, our cats are assholes and wake me up at least once every night.
Lurking from TWW** @nytino24 congrats on O @FLAshley sorry CD 1 @laurad75 sorry it didn't look like you had a big follie... hopefully the official report will have better news @maebee87 sorry your back but it's nice to see you around here. GL

CS/Q: not really a chart question but from what I've been able to find out on doctor google the only reason not to take Tylenol cold and flu when TTC is because it can dry up your CM, so I guess if we use preseed it should be fine to keep taking the medication. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? Pretty good, I sleep really early on weeknights, round 8.30 because I work out early, although occasionally I wake up round 3am and can't get back to sleep
R/R: crappy rainy day here, got screamed at by a patient this morning. Ready to go home. More wine needed! Hoping to get DH on board to start eating better this month to help support me and even for himself
CS/Q: none
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? ive always had interrupted sleep but never really thought anything of it. Now I definitely see that it has an impact though!
@zwink1 I am so, so sorry that you got this bad news. On the plus though at least you know what is up and what to work on. I really do think knowledge is power.
Some things your H can work on starting today: - If he carries his cell phone in his front pocket, tell him to stop. - Have him cut 100% of caffeine out of his diet. - Limit alcohol consumption to as little as possible. Definitely not multiple drinks in one night. - Have him take a daily multivitamin - Have him begin working out a few times a week - weight lifting or running or (not hot) yoga. - If he smokes he needs to stop
WAYDTGKU: doing it, and everything else, and hoping for some magic
R/R: Family last night at work had bed bugs crawling out of their clothes, so I had to wash everything and take a super hot shower last night. I still feel gross.
CS/Q: nada yet, waiting on some higher temps tomorrow and the next day and I think I'll have O'd yesterday or today.
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? My body wants to go to bed at 11:00 and wake around 9:00, but since I have work, I got to bed around 10:15/11:00 and wake 6:00-6:30. I'm a really good sleeper. I cried in first grade when I found out I couldn't have naps anymore. I love naps on Sunday afternoon.

I hope this next step works for you and your stay is short! There are a few of us here that are right around the one year mark and starting to go to RE appoinments, so I hope you find the support you need here! @zwink1 I am so sorry for the bad news. I hope it gives you some direction though so that you aren't continuing to TTC and not getting anywhere. I'm sure that doesn't help though. HUGS.. @metrogirl Mucinex is safe and fertility friendly, so you can always switch and take that instead.

@zwink1: on top of what @antoto said, look into vitamin c and Zinc. When we weren't sure if the problem was with DH or myself, I did some research and then talked with his doctor about the findings. She looked it over and told us that she had heard about the possibility of those vitamins helping with sperm count and things but hadn't ever suggested it to anyone. She told us to give it a try. He had been taking them before he had his scheduled SA and the numbers were good so I can't say if it was because he hadn't had one prior to taking them but maybe it would be something to look into and ask his doctor as well.

True! Those should be found in a good prenatal (H takes Rainbow Light Men's One) - but make sure it does include those things.
Other vitamins my H takes to help count/quality: NAC - 600mg, CoQ10 - 100mg, and then additional vitamin c on top of what is in the multi vitamin (1000).

@metrogirl, I second @JuneRoseRuby with the mucinex suggestion. You may be okay with the Tylenol, but if it's really a concern and you want to play it safe, you may want to try the mucinex or just suffer through the cold. Fertile CM is necessary to keep the sperm alive long enough to reach the egg, and it's my understanding that while proseed does not inhibit sperm, it doesn't actually help them at all either.
@JuneRoseRuby oh gosh, that sounds awful for them and for you. I know I'd be freaking out!
@antoto, Thanks for the list and the links! H doesn't smoke, and isn't a big drinker, but could probably still cut back. He also got the death glare when he walked in with a mountain dew on Sat, so hopefully he takes that seriously when I'm not around to police him. I didn't even think about the phone, I'll have to bring that up. I've already been handing him omega 3 and vitamin c, since we have them on hand, and I'm checking out multi vitamins, so your list is great.
@busymommy23, I had read that about zinc as well, good to know that your Dr had heard of it as well.
@laurad75 I am so sorry about your cancelled cycle, that is awful. Hopefully the Dr has a plan of action for next cycle. Hugs to you.

I think being AMA brings a different kind of anxiety and impatience, and I'm so incredibly sorry for another wasted cycle for you. Hugs, girl! Heyyy @Kiki75 I'm sorry about the bad timing for FW this cycle. Maybe a less stressful(?maybe) month will do you good! You know, that whole relax and it'll happen thing Hope you were/are able to hit at least something in the FW! @hartmich hopefully your doctor's appointment went well today and you got some of your questions answered! @metrogirl I was going to say the exact same thing as @zwink1 about Preseed and fertile quality CM. It's definitely not a replacement for and won't do the same job as EWCM, but it's just intended as a sperm friendly lube. and @zwink1 I'm so sorry for the news you got about your H's SA. Hopefully some of the suggestions others have made will help get his numbers up!

GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? Early to bed and early to rise, with a lot of tossing and turning in between.
If you're not interested in a book review of It Starts With the Egg, stop reading now So I want to preface this by saying that I consider myself a fairly intelligent person, but not necessarily a science person. And I'm also sort of anti-supplement- ever since learning that vitamins and supplements don't have to be approved by the FDA, they make me nervous to take without a doctor's recommendation. ISWTE is pretty short (I got the kindle edition and the entire last third of the book was her references). With a basic knowledge of biology it's easy enough to understand- she does talk a lot about cells and mitochondria and antioxidants and stuff like that but it's on a pretty basic level. She references a lot of studies from all over the world to make her points. She talks about changes you can make to your environment, lifestyle, and diet, then supplements you can take, supplements you should NOT take, and there's a chapter on things the man can do as well. Then there's basic, intermediate, and advanced plans that you can follow depending how far into IF you are. If you're at all interested in egg health, I'd say go for it. It's an easy enough read, but it would answer a lot of the questions that float around here like, why do you take X supplement, why is that lifestyle change important, etc, all bundled up in one small package. (Also, if you're a science-y person and know about any studies or books that refute some of this stuff, I'd really be interested to hear about that too.) The things I'm going to start are really the chemical avoidance and diet changes. I'll be avoiding phthalates (fragrance), BPA, and gluten. While she recommends taking certain vitamins as supplements, I'm going to try to get as many food sources of those vitamins as I can instead of a pill for now. One supplement I did decide to get is CoQ10 (100mg ubiquinol). I am going to ask my RE about Vitamin D and myo-inositol at my appt. in January. And this was one of the first things I've read that really convinced me to cut down on alcohol Hopefully some of that's helpful. Sorry it's so long!

I typically go to bed any time between 10 and 11 and get up with my alarm just after 6.

Hey everyone.

Trying for #4 since 11/2015
@FLAshley I just switched to temping vaginally.

GL today!!

I went in for my bw on Saturday, so now I'm just sitting over here, impatiently tapping my fingers and hoping that everything on that came back okay.

ive always had interrupted sleep but never really thought anything of it. Now I definitely see that it has an impact though!
Some things your H can work on starting today:
- If he carries his cell phone in his front pocket, tell him to stop.
- Have him cut 100% of caffeine out of his diet.
- Limit alcohol consumption to as little as possible. Definitely not multiple drinks in one night.
- Have him take a daily multivitamin
- Have him begin working out a few times a week - weight lifting or running or (not hot) yoga.
- If he smokes he needs to stop

@laurad75 I am so sorry, that stinks blows (I could use a thousand swear words here). That's the 2nd time in 3 cycles that they have missed your O!! I would have a serious talk with your RE about more aggressive monitoring or find another RE. If your a drink till its pink girl I'd have a glass of wine tonight, if not you deserve a big box of chocolates. I am so sad and frustrated for you.

@JuneRoseRuby oh gosh, that sounds awful for them and for you. I know I'd be freaking out!
@sheknows6, @antoto@JuneRoseRuby you ladies, as per usual, are right, it is at least a sense of direction!!
Edit - incomplete sentence.
Month/Cycle: 16/ 1AL
CD: 6
WAYDTGKU: All the regular stuff, plus levothyroxine, and I think I've decided on my egg quality stuff (@adirat and @hartmich) I'll add that at the end.
R/R: Spent the day at home with some contractors getting our new pellet stove installed. It's so cozy in here now!!
CS/Q: Nada
GTKY: What are your sleep habits like? Early to bed and early to rise, with a lot of tossing and turning in between.

So I want to preface this by saying that I consider myself a fairly intelligent person, but not necessarily a science person.
(Also, if you're a science-y person and know about any studies or books that refute some of this stuff, I'd really be interested to hear about that too.)
The things I'm going to start are really the chemical avoidance and diet changes. I am going to ask my RE about Vitamin D and myo-inositol at my appt. in January. And this was one of the first things I've read that really convinced me to cut down on alcohol
Hopefully some of that's helpful. Sorry it's so long!
