I'm 5w3d and only have sore boobs and bloating. Definitely enjoying feeling healthy for as long as possible, but can't help worrying a little about not having many symptoms.
This is my first 'symptoms' post, so please allow me to indulge for a moment. The day after the election, I felt really horrible. Like, could barely walk, dizzy spells, I even passed out on the bathroom floor at work for a few seconds. I finally left work, took the next day off, and spent the weekend in bed. I ended up throwing up once, and I felt better after that. I wasn't sure if it was the election results, stomach flu, or morning sickness. I finally took a test at the end of the weekend, and I was positive! Went back to work the next day, and almost all of my fellow teachers had had the stomach flu over the weekend... As the stomach flu was passing, I ended up getting really congested, and I have been fighting that ever since. I think it is starting to clear up, but ugh!
As far as pregnancy symptoms, I haven't really had a whole lot. I have been having a hard time sleeping the last few nights. I have battled insomnia most of my adult life, but it almost entirely went away when I started sleeping with my husband. Something about having him in bed next to me puts me out like a light. The last few nights, though, I have struggled to get to sleep, and if I wake in the night, I can't get back to sleep.
My husband and I actually got into a fight this morning, because I mentioned that I was a little concerned that I wasn't noticing anything (not even sore boobs), and he accused me of willing myself to get sick. Anyway, we made up, and I know I am being silly. I'm sure the symptoms will come sooner than I am ready. I'm only 5 weeks, 5 days now.
@sehp8b is this your first pregnancy? enjoy the lack of symptoms love! with my first my real symptoms started at 8-9 weeks and this time at 6, it could be too early or you could be a very special young lady who sails through her pregnancy lol.
i know worrying is hard coded into mums but just try to relax
How do you tell the difference between morning sickness and stomach flu? My BIL had a stomach flu while he visited this past weekend and I've been feeling nauseated since Sunday. At first, it came and went, so I assumed morning sickness, but I've been up most of the night feeling awful. How do I know? Does it even matter?

I would think if you are consistently vomiting, unable to keep things down including liquids it may be stomach flu. I can't tell you that for sure though I would recommend calling your doctor.
Dry gagged this morning. So hungry all the time, that I even get woken during night to eat. Thought I may be having twins, but u/s revealed just one lil hungry munchkin today.
This is me. I have to keep snacks in my nightstand because I'm so hungry in the middle of the night. I feel so sick in the morning if I don't eat something in the middle of the night. I'm even considering keeping a cooler and ice by my bed so I can keep OJ in it. I'm too tired to go all the way to the kitchen!
@mars8k Thanks! I know I'm overreacting, and I'm not even that worried about it. It's more just a passing thought that I happened to verbalize. I'm sure everything is fine. Love!
Alright maybe TMI, but I think being on a pregnancy board you just deal with TMI stuff...
has anyone dealt with pimples in unlikely places? Such as your butt?! I woke up to two on my butt this morning. WTF?!?
I've had that happen before (not while pregnant). With the extra hormones, gotta keep clean in all the places that can get skin/skin contact with extra oils.
Glad to see I'm not the only one not experiencing nausea or morning sickness... Was beginning to think something may be wrong. I am having some symptoms; dull cramps come and go (mostly at night), bloat, tired, really sore boobs, and thirsty!
When it comes to food though, I don't feel more hungry than normal and I'm not eating more than normal either. So far no aversions and no nausea at all. Maybe I'm lucky or maybe it hasn't hit me yet. I don't know?
I have started smelling everything. I keep smelling diesel exhaust...in my 5th story apartment. Does not compute. The fridge also smells really bad. And I have to get things out of it to cook. My dogs also both smell bad, especially their breaths. Ugh.

Hi all, this is my first post to a board ever. I figured I would start with the symptoms board as it is really kicking my butt lately. I'm 5 weeks 1 day and nausea has started on Monday. It hasn't left me since and seems to be getting worse as the days go on. I don't feel like eating but when I force myself I do get a small bit of relief. Any tips for nausea besides meds? No breast soreness which is compete opposite of my normal cycle. Bloating, constipation and the fatigue usually hits me right around 8pm, if I sit down I am out. We are hosting thanksgiving and I don't think I'll even be able to eat!
Is anyone else already having lower back pain?? It seems crazy early to me, but it's definitely happening!
@osucma yes to pimples on the butt - WTF is right!! But they seem to have left my face for the most part so I'm ok with the trade off haha
I've had back pain especially in the last week, but I think the 40 hrs in the car and sleeping in a hotel didn't help matters... Although it's been much worse since I got home actually!
Highly monitored internet and no cell service in the office, so I'm postin' and ghostin' while I'm workin'
I had intermittent waves of nausea for the last couple of weeks. And of course really tired. Yesterday, at 6w the nausea that haunted me for 7 months straight with my first returned. It's terrible. I just feel icky, no other word to describe it. Most foods are repulsive (unless it's sweet or carbs) but I have to eat something or the nausea is even worse. At least I know not to buy in to that "you'll feel better after 12w or 13w or 14w" crap. It's highly unlikely for me. But at least my boobs don't hurt (yet)!
@jaclyn14355 I haven't had a lot of luck finding relief but I finally tried the Sea Bands. You wear them on your wrists on a pressure point and it's supposed to help. The reviews were great! Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working for me but it might be worth a shot!
I thought maybe I'd get away with no morning sickness but here it is in full force, and the exhaustion....I'm 7w today. Ultrasound today showed a little heartbeat I'm a 2nd time surrogate and over the moon happy for the parents !
I posted this yesterday but I think it was a casualty of the thread/post delete!
The he last couple days, all I've wanted was an everything bagel and some fresh OJ. We had our first baby appointment yesterday, followed by a day of traveling so I decided to treat myself. Right after I ate, I got super nauseas and puked allll the deli's packed parking lot. I was mortified. Guess I can knock pregnancy induced vomiting off my bucket list...
Anyone else have hardcore insomnia??? Two weeks of this crap and it's killing me. My first doctor visit is still weeks away!!! I'm so frustrated and it's killing me trying to be a SAHM to my recently turned one year old. I can't do this.
TW This week has been a nerve-wracking week for me. On Monday morning after I had gone to the bathroom, I started bleeding bright red blood, even though I was in no pain and there were no clots, I still freaked out and immediately called my ob's office once I took my oldest to school at 830. They wanted me to go in to get some blood work because they thought that maybe I had low progesterone and to call them for the results in the afternoon. Thankfully by mid morning the bleeding had almost completely stopped and I was just spotting brown when I wiped. When I called they said my levels were great and my progesterone was as well so they had me come in for an Ultrasound on Tuesday. Thankfully, everything looked great and we could see the flickering hb. She couldn't get how fast it was going because it was so small, but we saw it, so that was enough to relax me. She couldnt find any reason why I would be bleeding so they just figured I had irritated my cervix somehow, probably pushing while going to the bathroom. Other than that scary ordeal, my boobs have gotten 10x more sore than they were and I am starting to get nauseous every afternoon especially if I don't eat, I am hungry all the time, and exhausted.
I was pregnant 8 yrs ago! And was feeling nauseous 24/7 until 12 weeks. This 2nd pregnancy is totally different! I have waves of nauseous during the day but more at night. Every pregnancy is different. A girl at work..she is 23 weeks..she never had nauseous at all..
@JAM85 Not sure if you're drinking premade protein shakes or what but keep an eye on the vitamin a content. Protein shakes and prenatals can put you close to, if not over, the daily max for vitamin a, depending on how much the shakes have.
I stopped drinking mine until late third tri when my midwife said that high vitamin a level every now and then wouldn't be so bad because most of the fetal development was done.
I have intermettent nausea but the dizziness is more pronounced than the nausea. my biggest symtom is the insane fatigue. I can't stay awake past 9:30 pm it's so sad lol. i am welcoming alllll the symptoms though because they reassure me.

Wow! I'm so glad I read this! I was taking 9,000 IUs of vitamin A a day. I didn't realize it was bad to take that much! How much did your doctor say was too much to take?
STM+, anybody dealing with an insta-belly??? Holy moly I feel like my belly just popped right away. I'm not even 6 weeks and I can already feel/see my bump! How is this possible? I thought I popped quickly with my second, but with this third one it's even earlier and more pronounced!
This is my 4th pregnancy though one of my pregnancies was a twin pregnancy that ended at 16 weeks, so I've had two full term babies and hopefully this will be my third!
@supermom83 This is my 5th pregnancy(1st was miscarriage so 3 full-term babies) and while I know some is bloat Im there with you. My stomach has hardened the last couple days. Not instabelly but Im a little overweight right now so that won't happen for a little while. My 4th pregnancy at 13 weeks I was already looking 20 weeks pregnant . Im sure the same will happen this time.

I don't recall; I'm sorry. Here's a good guide for a lot of vitamins.
@hqinmd very interesting chart! Thank you! It looks like I'm under the "limit" amount before any issues may come up from too much vitamin a. So that is a relief. What I find super interesting is that I had never heard of this! Vitamin a is being syntheticly created and everything seems to be "fortified" with it now a days. Milk, bread, cereals, etc. it's a shame my doctor didn't warn me about this earlier! I know a lot of pregnant women take a prenatal with vitamin a, then also get their daily dose in fortified cereal with fortified milk! That's so much vitamin a a day! Over 10,000! But I guess even with a very high dose of vitamin a (over 10,000 IUs a day) the chances of having a baby with birth defects caused by vitamin a are only 1-2%. Still, whatever we can do to protect our little ones is very important!
Hi ladies I have an important question. The last few times I have vommited I've had intense pain shooting up the back of neck and into my head. It's so sore. Is this normal? Any of you experienced this?
I just ticked over to 6 weeks. I'm still not having a whole lot of symptoms, but I am noticing a bit more (probably because I am super aware of them and paying attention). The insomnia seems to have stopped; I'm falling asleep a lot easier. If I wake up in the middle of the night, I can usually, though not always, fall asleep fairly quickly. I am definitely having more boob soreness, especially at night when I take my bra off. A couple of nights ago, my husband rolled over and scraped his bracelet across my nipple. I thought I was going to die!
I think that I might be having slight nausea, but I may just be imagining it. I haven't thrown up except the very first weekend that I knew, and I think that was stomach flu. This morning, I was making pancakes, and I got such an intense hot flash that I had to lay down and ask my husband to finish. I was so hot, my scalp was sweating. Not good!
The only slightly worrying thing I have noticed is the incredible dizziness. I live at 9,600 feet above sea level, which translates to a severe lack of oxygen. Mostly, it doesn't bother me, as I have lived up here for quite a while, and my body has acclimated. Every so often, though, I stand up too fast, and I get super dizzy for a few seconds. Since I've been pregnant, however, I notice it happening quite a lot more, sometimes a couple of times per day. Occasionally, I have completely blacked out for a moment, and my knees start shaking. Once, I actually fell down with no memory of doing so. One moment I was standing up with the dizziness starting, and the next I was on the floor. I have an appointment next weekend, so I will definitely be talking to the doctor about that.
Intermittent nausea, sore breasts, diarrhea, and I'm either ravenous or not hungry at all. The most debilitating symptom so far has been the fatigue. All I want to do is lay around. I have no energy to get up and do anything. I am always exhausted.
The damn headaches have started...super unimpressed. This happened last pregnancy as well. Usually, it's because I'm much more susceptible to dehydration, so if I don't down a TON of water during the day, I pretty much constantly live with a brutal headache right behind my eyes. The worst is that I always wake up with it because you inevitably get dehydrated overnight and if I try to counter the dehydration while I'm sleeping by drinking water before bed, I inevitably have to get up and pee three times over the course of the night, which means the headache is WORSE in the morning because I'm over tired. I can't win.

Complete exhaustion. Probably also due to not sleeping great at night. I have been off work since I learned I was pregnant and not sure how I'm going to be able to function next week.
Nausea comes in short waves. Really not bad but I'm still early. Sore boobs but manageable.
@OBeckett I've only puked once so I'm no expert on it by any means but that kind of pain does not sound normal. Are you getting enough water in your system? It may be triggering some kind of headache due to dehydration. Drink tons of water and then some (since you're vomiting). And then call your dr to check in about that pain. Hang in there!
@irishrose54 I'm trying to drink a lot of water. But perhaps it's not quite enough. I don't have the pain any other time. Only when I'm sick. I'll call the nurse tomorrow to check it out.
This week has been more of the same for me - nausea all day until evening, coupled with bottomless pit of a stomach (hungry 1-2 hours after eating), fatigue, and sore boobs... Sleeping a lot but waking up a lot too... I spend about half the day in bed and could easily nap in addition if I let myself. I also have a lot of lightheadedness, nearly every time I stand up I have to go lean on something for a few seconds.
On the bright side, I've learned that taking extra B6 and unisom does help the nausea the next day, so I've done that twice in the past week but don't want to make a habit of it! Acne has so far been manageable, so I'm thankful for that
