Premature LH surge? Ganirelix?

edited November 2016 in Infertility
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?  I have done one unmedicated cycle and one medicated cycle; both have ended with a premature LH surge.  The first, I surged with 3 follicles only 12 mm and my cycle was cancelled.  The second cycle I surged with three follicles, the largest being 18mm. They still did the IUI with the latter because they said I could potentially have mature eggs.

I have read of a medication called ganirelix.  Has anyone taken this?  I am interested in understanding what days of your cycle you took it and how it affected your cycle length and follicle maturation.  I have a feeling this could be the underlying cause of my fertility issues.   My doctor kept telling me my positive ovulation tests were most likely false positives due to my PCOS, but now that they have seen that I really am surging with immature follicles, it makes me think we need to find a way to lengthen my cycle so my follicles can grow large enough to be viable.

Thanks!

  • I took ganirellix during my cycle, starting on day 5 of my cycle. My ER was on day 12. Not sure how it effected my cycle as I've only done the one. I did have a great cycle though, 24 eggs, 23 fertilized, 17 made it to day 5, 14 tested PGS normal.
