My husband finished his 6 week Iowa project in 4 weeks and he's back home. It'll be even more awesome when I'm back from working in Kentucky, lol. Soon! Friday!
Happy to not report a TW today lol, and just a glitter fart! Yesterday the painting of the nursery started. We are doing 2 walls lavender, and 2 walls green.....the lavender is officially all done and looks so nice! I'm hoping today the green will be done.....and then tomorrow I can move the baby stuff back in and set up the wall decorations. I do still have to order some decals, but those will be on their way tomorrow, with a hopeful arrival of next week. DH's friend was over visiting and wanted to help paint so we were able to complete the 2 coats on all the areas with lavender. I took a peak this morning while getting ready for work and it is all dry and looks so incredible. The difference it made to brighten and open up the room is unreal. The previous color (a sad eeyore type color) just made the room look small and depressing for a baby girl's nursery. DH has been so on board with my power nesting lately and my rush to get the nursery done. I will still need to wash all her blankets and clothes, which I will probably do after my shower. I just feel like I NEED to get the nursery majors done now so I can spend the upcoming holidays and family bdays without worrying about nursery stuff and also trying to relax in case this second trimester energy plummets next month...will need my energy for work and growing baby
DH has still been reading us bedtime stories a few times a week so Dean can hear his voice. Two nights ago was "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie". Apparently DH has never read this book before, and about halfway through, he says, "This is a really freaking needy mouse." And without missing a beat just reads the next line. I laughed so hard I almost peed myself.
When I came home from work on Saturday, DH had finished 2 home projects I've been begging for! We now have a wood accent wall above the fireplace and I have a kitchen island!
DH is in the military and there were maaaaany options for where we could be headed next, some of which were slightly terrifying... BUT! We found out we will be moving down south and now I'll be able to check off another bucket list item! We will be living about 30 minutes from Nashville, TN!!! I love Nashville and am SO excited! We will be moving in the middle of December when I'm 33 weeks pregnant (slightly anxiety-inducing...) but we have found some really awesome birthing resources there so far!
Also, my heart seriously melts every time I pause for a moment and think about how wonderful and supportive my husband is and how blessed I'll be if this little boy turns out to be even half the man that he is... ::high five, self::
@TeacherMom2517 Super awesome! I love Tennessee. Our public education system; not the best. But, no state income tax.
Plus, I changed a flat tire on a busy highway a few weeks ago outside of Chicago; one person stopped to help me as I was packing back up. Near Nashville? Pffft. I would have made it maybe 5 minutes before someone stopped. They would probably be a) in a pickup truck b) wearing camo or c) wearing boots. There is a lot of variation in accent, culture norms, grammar, you name it. I like it. We still have our sophisticated urban people who would blow past a pregnant lady with a flat tire, but you will hear "ya'll" here.
My mom and sister got in today for a visit for like 10 days. I'm so excited. And right away my mom started helping me and working on projects she knows I want done.
@PerraSucia I love the tile and the in-wall shelf!
I sorta glitterfarted for dinner, I made shrimp curry and it didn't suck! I havnt layered a good curry in a long while so I'm out of practice but it was passable as yummy for sure
ETA curry makes the baby move sooo much! DH had his hand on my bump to feel the uterine fireworks and we couldn't stop giggling
Our mortgage refinancing is FINALLY moving along!!
As soon as we close I can fix our bathroom up! DH has no idea how excited I am for the "touchups" to our DS bathroom. It's mostly original, we put peel and stick tile in and a toilet/sink. But it desperately needs the ceiling repaired/new grout and you know while I'm at it... a new floor! Which means my tiny entry way floor will need to be replaced to (since it's that same awful peel and stick tile). Yeaaaa!
Looks gorgeous, @PerraSucia. That tile is ace. Are you going to use the same tile for the inset shelf, or are you going to use some kind of accent tile?

Yeah, my breast pump has been approved by insurance and is now getting sent to me!! I ended up picking Spectra 1 even though it required upgrade, from the reviews I read it seems like it is worth every penny. https://www.breastpumps.aeroflowinc.com/breastpump/spectra-s1-sp08-l1/ If you have a choice with who your insurance works with to get a breast pump, I had a great and easy experience with this group https://www.breastpumps.aeroflowinc.com/
Anyways I am just soo happy that insurance helps pay for it, makes me feel better about all the money I throw at insurance companies.
@srscott3 - I have been totally stalking mine too.....lol....we got 2 carseats so far....and we already got a crib, pack n play, highchair, some blankets, and stroller between my grandpa buying stuff and some "like-new condition" family hand-me downs. Feeling so blessed I keep controlling my own urge to shop....I almost bought bedding, and my Mom and MIL were like NO! YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL YOUR SHOWER! So I allowed myself to get some clothes that were clearance and MIL grabbed some too b/c they were 90% off, and I bought her nursery decorations/organization stuff at Hobby Lobby, Amazon, and Big lots.
Hahaha @BlondePeanut I have been trying to control my urge to shop too. The only things I've bought are some clothes and some etsy stuff. It's tough though
@srscott3 and @BlondePeanut that's why I didn't put everything I wanted on our registry I have a super secret list of all the other stuff I want and I've been pacing myself buying X amount off of it each week. Satisfies my urge for things to show up in the mail related to baby...and it doesn't appear that I'm taking stuff off my registry! The buying urge is very strong with me too.
@Patience7150 Oh yes, I did that too. The etsy stuff I bought wasn't on my registry. And I didn't register for clothes. But now I'm running out of "non-registry" stuff and I'm getting all antsy again
I am kind of starting to feel that too...I want the practical stuff, not this cute onesie that isn't going to make my life any easier. And we all know people aren't going to buy everything on our registry so why not start spacing out the expenses for the stuff we need?
Since remodeling is a glitter fart thing, slowly but surely my laundry room is progressing. It needs to be done because my house is a mess while it's torn up.
I've been holding the need to shop at bay by buying super practical things and I've been taking cash out of my account regularly so we can buy stuff after my shower in January (SO FAR AWAY!)
It's not Tuesday but I feel the need to fart. I woke up from a nap earlier and my husband had changed into this long sleeved "muscle" shirt and puma shorts, both of which I'd never seen before. He must have had them packed away still. But DAYUMMM! he looks sexy!! I was like "oh helloooooo, do I know you?" Sadly for him, it did not lead to sex as baby girl is once again hanging out on my sutures. But that was a nice surprise to wake up to!
