It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
R/R: Surprise! I ovulated 6 days earlier than I ever have since starting to track my cycles 10 months ago. This is why it kills me when people are all, "I don't want to go BSC and temp and do OPKs!" If we were trying, we would have missed the FW entirely. (I was waiting for STDI to be effective, but oh well I guess) This is also why the NFP method doesn't work well IMHO.
CS/Q: nope - If you aren't charting CM and temping and doing OPKs, do it!
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had?
I've had a lot between soccer and softball. I was a catcher on a terrible hs team and got bicep tendinitis so bad I had to roll the ball back to the pitcher in practice. Then in college, I was playing indoor soccer against another college team in the off season and got slammed into the hockey-style boards twice in seconds. Something happened to my shoulder in combination with the bicep injury and since I didn't have insurance, I waited until I started teaching two years later to fix it. Ten years later I had another surgery. It's still not 100% normal. My back also go f*ed up playing soccer, so I worry about pregnancy and being able to hold my kids.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@NYTino24 yay for CHs @cait32 it's the best when that happens. Enjoy!
Month/Cycle: 8/8
CD/DPO: 22/7
Timing: -3, -1, 0
Testing: no
R/R: was so busy yesterday didn't even have any time to bump and here I am lying in bed dreading getting up for work. I had one of those dreams where I though it was the weekend already but it's only Thursday.
CS/Q: none
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? I stepped on broken glass in college and it went through my shoe and into then all of my foot by my toes. My foot was so swollen you couldn't distinguish my toes. Gross!
The the threads are started early today and I like it!
Month/Cycle: 2/2 (4/5 total)
CD/DPO: 16/3
Timing: -5, -3, -1, +1
Testing: I guess the 10th or 11th if I'm lucky.
R/R: FF moved my CH this morning from CD 10- CD13, which seems more accurate. But all three of my post O temps are practically on the CL. Whatevs. Guys, I just feel so meh this cycle. I'm guessing the relocation and starting a new job has finally caught up to my normally sunny self and it's doing a number. On top of my generally dismal feelings about life, a MRI film of MIL's back arrived yesterday and threw DH into a downward swing as well. (Since MIL passed we had her mail forwarded to us) The weird part is the exam date is 7/7/2015 and she passed on 7/7/2016. There was also a funeral procession while DH was playing golf yesterday which made him struggle to keep it together amongst strangers. And we capped it off going to dinner and the food was gross. *Sigh* It was just one of those days. The only benefit I see is that I'm not super TWW pre-occupied as normal as I'm just not into it this cycle. So here's to making today better and flipping the script. Oh and if anyone hasn't seen this weeks New Girl: watch it. It's hysterical. At least this happened (well a version of this):
CS/Q: Nope
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? So knocking on wood like crazy over here. I've had very few injuries. I had stitches under my right eye when I was about 4. I was running down a hill, lost control and ran into a parked car (wouldn't be the last time I ran into an object that was not moving). I did drop the metal bed frame/thing your mattress sits on on my right big toe. It was the night before the last day of exams Spring semester Freshman year. The on campus medical thing was closed as it was a Friday night and everyone for the most part had gone home. So I just hobbled to my exam and back. I ended up losing my toe nail. It took an entire year for it to grow back completely. But other than that I'm all original ovah here. No surgeries, no casts. It's not for lack of effort. I was in a ton of sports, had a ton of falls, and spazzy moments (never wore my glasses= lots of running into things). I must've been given some tough bones.
Testing: waiting until Monday (unless my will power wanes which is possible)
R/R: I was doing better yesterday! And then last night I threw up again and more GI issues. What. The. Actual. Eff. I am giving up. Virus- you win. On the plus side, traveling to KY this evening for a wedding this weekend! This is the first (and probably last) time I will ever go to KY, so I am excited.
CS/Q:
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had?
I tore my meniscus running. It really hurt and put me into PT for months. They wouldn't so surgery since its only a partial tear, so now I live with random flare ups of pain in my knee- luckily not super common (once a month, or after strenuous exercise), but I can't run anymore, and squats hurt too much to do.
@berg sorry you (and your DH) had such a shit day, hopefully today will look up for you both @NYTino24 glad to see you here!
R/R: Today is one of those rainy, dreary mornings that makes it impossible to get out of bed. It's gonna be a long work day too. At least tomorrow is Friday!
CS/Q: none
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had?
A broken arm. Luckily I haven't had too many injuries in my life.
H & I: Both 28 Married: June 2015 TTC #1: June 2016 BFP: 11-24-16 ~ EDD 8-9-17 IT'S A BOY!
Testing: for SOME reason I thought it would be a good idea to test at 8 DPO.. BFN, obviously.
R/R: literally still raining. And will be all weekend. I love a good rainstorm but seriously?
CS/Q: I had a huge spike this morning.. not sure what to think. Tested at the same time and even did it again and was the same result.
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? i have never broke a bone, but I have rurptured my eardrum twice. I get severe ear infections and they rupture within hours. I was told next time I would need surgery to repair.. eek.
@NYTino24 yay for crosshairs! Never thought seeing those would make me so happy!
@Brooklyngirl6 I think I am going to test Monday, too! My bridal shower is this Saturday and I will test prior to hitting up the mimosa bar too.
@cait32 I think I am making myself BSC with my chart lol it's probably pretty simple to the trained eye, but being so new at it I am overthinking. I hope your chart starts to make you less crazy!!
@Cait32 Yes, it could/would be a shorter cycle. I'm not used to anything shorter than 32 days except one 26 day cycle when I went off BCP after skipping placebos for 6 months. @berg If I don't start them before work, it's hard for me to participate. Have to leave for work by 7:15 and don't usually get home until 8:30-9:30 pm. @MommytoM13 I get spikes of .4-.6 around CD 6-7 most months and haven't gotten KU, but yours looks good! See what happens tomorrow. I had a ruptured ear drum once too. Had to get t-tubes this year.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
R/R: it's so rainy and gloomy here. The weather change is killing my sinuses. I was hoping to go to a farm this weekend for some hayrides and pumpkin picking but it's looking like a wash out. In other news, I was able to convince my RE to proceed with a Clomid cycle + TI next cycle after many delays so at least I feel like we are doing something while waiting for IVF. It was a bit of a fight with them but I got the call from the pharmacy yesterday that my meds were called in!!!
CS/Q: no temping this cycle...in part bc I needed a little break and also because meds I were on were causing my temps to go a little haywire last cycle so I gave up. Not sure if I'll temp next cycle either because I think Clomid messes with temps as well? Anyone have insight on that?
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had?
i was running down stairs to open the door in tall black heeled boots to let stupid friends in who insisted on ringing the bell despite being told not too at 1 am since my landlord lived below us and I missed the last stair and broke my foot clean and needed surgery and a couple of screws to fix it. This was like 10 years; alcohol may or may not have been involved.
CD/DPO: Either 27/14 or 27/8...FF keeps vacillating between O on CD13 and O on CD19.
Timing: -3,0,+1 or -5,-4,-2
Testing: 10/1 Pee Party
R/R: It's a gross, rainy day in the DC area... and FF keeps moving my CH.
CS/Q: Neither FF or I know wtf my body did this past cycle. I think FF likes O on CD 13 only because of the +OPK. I think it might have been a false surge.
If I take away the +OPK, I get solid CH on CD 19... although my symptoms line up better with CD17/18.
HALP.
GTKU: I tried Crossfit for the first time last July and ended up with Rhabdomyolysis aka the breakdown of muscle tissue that leads to the release of muscle fiber contents into the blood. It was such a fluky thing -- I was in decent shape before I started CF and the condition itself is very rare. My arms swelled up like Popeye and I was hospitalized for 3 days. Long story short, exercise will kill you
@NYTino24 yay for CH! @berg so sorry for your terrible, horrible, no good Wednesday @Brooklyngirl6 I don't feel like this is our month either -- hang in there!
I'm cringing reading everyone's injuries.
Me: 32 H: 32 Married: October 2009 TTC#1: August 2016
R/R: I don't know why but I'm not feeling super confident about this cycle :-( my temps look basically identical to all of my other previous cycles and I'm just not feeling anything. I know it's still early so I'm trying really hard to not be pessimistic.
CS/Q:
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? ive never really had a bad injury, the worst injury I've had was a small hairline fracture on my foot from stepping on the stairs wrong lol
R/R: I've had terrible jaw pain that started last night and has continued this morning. It's also rainy and gloomy where I am this morning - seems to be a trend. It's chilly, which I love, but it definitely isn't giving me the boost I need to get anything done today.
CS/Q: Nope; my temps remain above cover line.
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? I feel like I grew up in a bubble because I cannot honestly think of any injuries outside of bumps and bruises. I've never broken any bones (knock on all the wood); the only stitches I've had were when I had my wisdom teeth removed, ha!
Testing: welp BFN today.. yea, I know it is early... no, I don't know why I torture myself. I figured if I am testing tomorrow for the wedding I might as well test for the rehearsal dinner too because, wine. UGH
R/R: Almost dropped my engagement ring down the drain this morning. Luckily, it got stuck on the weird/modern stopper we have. I had to call in MH because my hands were shaking too bad to get it out. I can't even imagine what I would have been like if it sunk. Also, this weather totally sucks. I had a blow out scheduled for this morning and I went but what a waste!! The 10 min walk to work totally ruined it. IT SERIOUSLY FEELS LIKE A MONDAY!
CS/Q: Can I just show you what is feeding into the BCS... look how wonky my temps usually are compared to this month. The last one is the current cycle...
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? Sorry all, not going to read these. I don't do well with this kind of stuff... I've been lucky to never have had anything major. I did have lock jaw once in law school from undiagnosed TMJ... that was painful and sort of hilarious at the same time.
@berg Sorry you and DH had such a crappy day yesterday. Fx today is better for yall.
Month/Cycle: 5/5
CD/DPO: 24/13
Timing: meh, doesn't matter
Testing: BFN and a negative blood test. Safe to say I'm out.
R/R: My ultrasound to check out the mass in my breast is scheduled for today. I was so calm and cool about it initially, but now I'm starting to get nervous.
CS/Q: Huge temp drop today. I was sleeping with my mouth open but I'm pretty sure AF should be here soon-ish
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? Yesssssss! Best question yet! This is so right up my alley. I hate everyone has had to go through injuries but this is literally what I do for a living, so I've really enjoyed everyone's answers. Especially @JulesDP and your Rhabdo. Impressive! Mine is probably the three tears I had in the labrum in my hip. Basically the head of my femur had elongated and it was fraying my labrum. So they had to go in an surgically repair the tears, shave back the femur to make it round again, clip a tendon, debris the joint, and tighten the joint capsule. It sucked.
*WTO lurker* @marley629 Whoa this is creepy... I broke my leg wearing black high heeled boots running down a hill (not a huge hill) after friends one night, also including alcohol, also required screws/surgery. To this day, if I wear any black heeled boots, H makes a comment about it.
@JulesDP I read an article about a woman who got the same injury from crossfit and it led to kidney failure! Was that you? Are you famous?
Month/Cycle: 3/3 post-myomectomy
CD/DPO: 24/5
Timing: -1, O
Testing: 10/8
R/R: **TW babies and sanctimommy** One of my acquaintances on FB posted her birth announcement last night, "baby boy born blah blah. 8 ounces blah blah. Born naturally and with no pain meds."
Why would she need to mention that? To make other moms feel bad that they needed/wanted meds? Or needed a c-section? Is her baby somehow better for not having meds? It made me all sorts of angry. I'm sure this will be just a taste of her future mommy-shaming. **End TW**
Oh, and after I told my mom last night that I went out for my friend's bachelorette party on Saturday she says "Ok, I'm going to say this, and don't get mad, but I read an article that said alcohol contributes to infertility."
I calmly told her those studies aren't conclusive because it's based on surveys and assumes a lot about the truthfulness of the women taking the survey, and I pointed out that drinking several beers on ONE NIGHT when I barely drink otherwise does not affect my fertility! You can't say "Don't get mad" then say shit like that. C'mon.
CS/Q: No.
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? I'm lucky in that all I've had is a bruised bone when I was 9, or maybe the time I sliced my pinky knuckle down to the bone when I was 12.
Me: late 30s | H: early 30s TTC #1 since April 2015 RE Dx: Fibroids, surgery Jan 2016 IUI #1 and #2, Nov/Dec 2016, BFN IVF March 2017: ER - 5R/3M/3F, 1 PGS normal Polyp removed May 2017 FET May 2017 - BFP! Baby boy born 2/2/18
R/R: Im at the official BSC point where all I want to do is test (thank goodness for the pee party). My DH even asked last night when I could test. Also my work is going nuts today, our board members are visiting the office. They asked us all to wear business casual (which only about half of us did) but we are usually a pretty casual company (I wear jeans every day).
CS/Q: No questions, **TW Loss/pregnancy mentioned** I am just really kicking myself for not temping longer during my cycle when I did get KU. I was renovating my house during one of the weeks, so things were packed away (including my thermometer) So I only have like 3 days of post O temps and now I am going nuts **end TW**. I have a great looking chart this month, but I just get so worked up that I get scared to test becuase I dont want that BFN.
For my nerdy/Big Bang Theory bumpers out there:
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? I knock on wood, have not been hurt too badly. The worst was when I was about 16, I broke my front tooth. I had to get it "glued" back on, but then the summer after It broke off again, becuase the dentist who fixed it did it wrong. The second time though it really hurt to get it fixed, even with Novocain, so I have been terrified to break it again. I basically cant eat hard foods unless they are cut up so I dont use my front teeth to break them (like apples and carrots)

Mommy to a super cute havanesse puppy and baby boy!
R/R: not much... taking the dog trail running after work and I'm probably more excited than he is. (Well, I know I am... since he doesn't know what we're going to do yet!)
CS/Q: nope
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? Umm... nothing too bad. I broke my foot (just a stress fracture) but that was probably less painful then some other accidents that I've had where nothing actually broke. Oo I just thought of this... one time I had a cyst on my ovary burst, and it was in the middle of DTD... I had to ask DH to get off me and I could not lay still it was so painful. The next couple of days I couldn't stand up straight, and I had a really high fever... it was horrible. Next time, if it ever happens again like that, I'm going to the emergency room...
R/R: Working out, counseling, and fertility support group
CS/Q:
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? Burned by fireworks on both legs when I was 5. I have hearing loss in both ears from the blast. It was a memorial day weekend fireworks event.
@berg creepy internet hugs to you and DH. Grief is a weird thing. In my experience those coincidences don't stop hurting, you just get better at handling them
@Marley629 I think we should have been friends back then.
Month/Cycle: 4/3
CD/DPO: 30/10
Timing: good
Testing: 10/1 Pee Partay!! But I found myself lurking in the new June 2017 BMB so I may test today and Saturday
R/R: The candidate I recommended for the job came in for the interview yesterday and didn't do well. I find myself trying to convince everyone why he should still be considered. After sleeping on it I came to the conclusion that if I didn't know this one, I'd definitely hire the other one. I told my candidate what we were looking for and everything! *sigh*
CS/Q: Thanks for the feedback yesterday on the thermometer. I tried it one last time today and still reads the same temp. Definitely broken.
GTKY Worst Injury: My Mom used to call me "BooBoo of the Day" so here's my top 3 1- I hurt my back in a really bad car accident. Still have back pain and sciatica nerve issues 15 years later. 2- I used to teach horseback riding at summer camps. Our biggest horse stomped my foot one year. Doc said he didn't break my toe, he crushed the joint and tore all the tendons. I have no curling or flexing capabilities in the toe. 3- The family and I were going wine tasting in Napa. I was carrying our snacks and waters out to the car when I lost my balance and fell back on my butt. I was wearing high heeled wedges at the time so you can imagine the angle of my foot. Broke my ankle and injured mutiple tendons and ligaments.
To all you ladies who were injured exercising: thanks for giving me an excuse to avoid!! Hahahaha
Snip
@NYTino24 I completely agree!! It's not going BSC. It's getting to know your body.
Month/Cycle: 13/13
CD/DPO: 27/9
Timing: -5, -3, -1, 0
Testing: still not thinking about it.
R/R: It's Friday Eve. I'm so ready for the weekend.
CS/Q: nope
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had?
Not sure if it counts as an injury, but it was the most painful thing I've experienced. I had an infection in both kidneys and a kidney stone in one. My local, small town hospital wrote it off as normal back pain and sent me home. Thankfully I went and got a second opinion at a different hospital in another city. I ended up being in the hospital for four days getting the infection under control. I wouldn't wish kidney pain on my worst enemy.
**pregnancy mentioned** I was also 26 weeks pregnant at the time so they couldn't do anything with the stone. I had to deal with that off and on until my scheduled c-section at 38 weeks. I passed it the night before.

@NYTino24 I can't second the use of charting and OPKs! mine was early (not nearly as much as yours) but without them, I might have missed it! 'Grats on the CHs! @Cait32 That chart is pretty! my chart is a bit similar this month, and fingers crossed it means good things for the both of us! @berg sorry for the rough go of it @JulesDP Eeek! And here to think CF is all the rage, but seriously lol'd at "exercise will kill you". If you could just share that tidbit with all of human kind, including doctors that would be awesome. K? Thanks! @Saralee797 Good think you had MH to rescue your ring! But I think it still would have been safe, you just would have had to dismantle the sink. there is a U-shaped trap under the sink (to prevent noxious smells from coming up through the pipes) and unless you ran a boat load of water down the drain, most things like rings get stuck in their. And as for the chart, yup my BSC flag would be flying high @shstephenson good luck at your appointment today!
Month/Cycle: 3/3
CD/DPO: 16/7
Timing: -5, -2, -1, O
Testing: Pee Party #2 even though it might be too early
R/R: since last night, the bump has been sneaking in these weird video adds in the bottom of my window, and they are slowing everything down to a halt and well pop up things are just annoying.
CS/Q: Its just so pretty... fingers crossed
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? ***TW the worst injury i had was when i had my daughter. During birth she came out so quickly, I had a 3rd degree on the verge of 4th degree tear. Her elbow also ripped a separate hole *** TW end*** Other than that just a few scraped knees
R/R: not testing out my trigger is nice this month. Progesterone caused some super painful lightning vaj last night so that was a great time.
Its my weekend!!! Only have to go in for a few rounds today. Get to enjoy an empty house and catch up on chickflicks
CS/Q: why do so many people decide to join pee parties? It sets you up for some serious bitterness and resentment because statistically not all 12 people are going to get BFPs. The worst thing in the world would be the only person who doesn't. That happened with PPs in the days of old when 5 when test and 4 would graduate. Worst idea.
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had?
i played volleyball in high school and for college and my chronically dislocating shoulder has had to be completely reconstructed 3 times. I can't reach my back anymore with that arm to take off a bra or do most things and will need a replacement eventually.
I also botched a landing cliff diving once and hit straight on my tailbone resulting in 3 herniated discs in my back. I have horrible chronic back pain now that acupuncture can keep under control but I know pregnancy is going to be very painful for me. I stand and operate for sometimes up to 18 hours a day and get to where I can't even bend over anymore. (This is the jump. My life has never been the same since. )
Testing: trying to wait as long as possible...... going to try to hold on until Monday, which would be 10 dpo.
R/R: I sliced open 3 fingers prepping a salad last night at least it was a really yummy greek salad and I get some for my lunch today too
CS/Q: Is 6dpo too early to know if you have a triphastic chart? My temp shot up this morning significantly higher than my any temp past o this cycle. In all the time i've been charting I've never had a triphastic chart
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? I'm injury prone, very clutzy. So there are many to choose from. The worst overall was probably when I sprained my ankle really badly during a month long trip to china. I had to go to a Chinese hospital, where they still smoked inside the building (!?!?!?!?!?!). It made the rest of the trip really interesting trying to maneuver around China with a makeshift ace bandage from a t-shirt and herbal sprays for my swollen ankle.

@NYTino24 wow crazy... 6 days earlier! Any ideas as to why? @julesDP that sounds terrible. Are you still doing Crossfit since? I know a lot of people who have pushed themselves too hard and ended up with bad injuries from that! @laeberge3 are you extra stressed? I clench my jaw unknowingly when I am extra stressed out and often wake up with sore jaw and a bad tension headache from doing it. Sometimes it lasts all day.
Month/Cycle: 1/1
CD/DPO: 34/7
Timing: -5,-1,0 (would have loved to get -2 in there but we travel for work and were separated)
Testing: A week from today
R/R: Raining a lot, covering 3 peoples jobs today so a bit frazzled.
CS/Q: Starting to feel PMS-y and giving up hope! Since my thermometer is broken I haven't temped with a different one because I want to wait until CD1l. Only using secondary signs until then. So, my chart is worthless.
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? As a kid, I broke both of the bones in my forearm by falling off of a trapeze swing. I had to be put to sleep for the cast to be applied from my wrist to my shoulder. And it wasn't water proof so swimming and showering were tons of fun. I also had a different playground injury where I fell off gymnastics hi-low bars and let my face break my fall. I swallowed my front (baby) tooth-- root and all, had to get stitches all around my mouth (think cat with whiskers) and didn't have a front tooth for 3 years. That made my mom happy for all our family portraits.
R/R: I was an emotional mess yesterday. I am hoping this means that AF is coming.
CS/Q: So I'm beginning to wonder if I didn't actually O when FF said I did. I tried changing all of my detector settings, and O-date didn't change. My previous charts all have a temperature dip at 5-6 DPO, too.
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? I broke my ankle in 6th grade and walked around on it for months without a proper diagnosis. The doctor had to stand and manipulate my leg to get it to show on x-ray. I ultimately needed surgery to correct it.
@eggplantface ugh that drives me so insane when women do that!!! ALL women used to deliver babies Med-free, it's not medal-worthy and it's certainly a bizarre thing to put in a birth announcement lol! I feel the same way about the women who feel the need to go on and on about how awesomely wonderful they are because they breastfeed their baby, while shaming women who formula feed because "breast is best." again, it's something ALL women used to do... You don't deserve a prize for it
@shstephenson I hope you get good results. I had a lump once that was felt and confirmed with US, but I was told I had "lumpy bumpies" and I was pissed because it was not only very insulting to be treated like I was 12 (I do look young and have a small chest), but they were WRONG! Believe it or not, it was scar tissue all the way from my shoulder that creeped in. My PT tore the crap out of it ten years later and it's gone now. @beckj34 What a horrible thing to happen! I hope you have recovered. @DungeonTrollMel I hope your progesterone levels out nicely. That doesn't sound fun.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

Testing: Monday morning...I don't trust anything before 10dpo
R/R: Ugh work. That is all.
CS/Q: Maybe this is a rave, but I had weird spotting from 6-9 dpo last cycle and that hasn't happened yet today, so I guess that's a plus.
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? Well, if anyone lurking or posting here knows me IRL, I'm about to give myself away. When I was a senior in high school, after graduation, about 50 of us went to Cancun. There were some parents involved, including some that lived in my neighborhood that I was very close to growing up, so my parents agreed to let me go. Anyway, I was obviously drinking, so my friends and I decided that we should dance on a table. Some dude that wasn't with us was trying to hook up with my friend because they were both going to the same college, so he hopped on as well, in between us, so I was behind him, at the edge of the table. He moved backwards, hit me, I fell off the table and hit my head on the table behind me, and started bleeding EVERYWHERE. I blacked out at that point (was conscious though), but apparently my friend was all YOU KILLED MY FRIEND! The guys I was friends with that I was with carried me outside and got me an ambulance. My two best friends rode in there with me, and slept in my hospital room crammed into one armchair all night. The next day my neighbor came to relieve them, and accompanied me to get a CAT scan because I was "still throwing up" so the doctors feared brain injury (spoiler alert: I was still vomiting because I was drunk) and I was fine, aside from needing 3 stitches and being concussed. My friends were freaked out because I was talking pure nonsense and they thought I could never go to college now. I made my neighbor call my parents, and my dad flew down immediately to bring me home 3 days early. not my proudest moment. To this day my mom believes it happened because I had "never drank before and didn't know my limits" which is in no way true, but whatever. My little sister was not allowed to go on a similar trip, and she's still mad at me for it.
Testing: I’m supposed to wait
until 10/11, but I’ll probably test 10/07.
R/R: Tomorrow is a short day at work
and we are having a surprise birthday party for one of my coworkers. She doesn’t have any family locally, so her
work family is like her family. We’re
all excited about it.
CS/Q: I noticed on some of your
charts the DPO numbers are visible right above the cover line. My chart does not have the DPO numbers
visible. Is there a setting in FF that
can be changed?
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had?
When I was 10, I was playing “Quiet
Mouse, Still Mouse, Freeze” with my cousins.
When the person that was "it" yelled “Freeze”, I was halfway sitting and
halfway standing over a rocking chair.
So, I decided to sit really fast.
When I did, I hit the arm of the chair just right and cracked my
tailbone. This happened on Christmas
Eve, so the rest of my Christmas Break was spent in bed or on the couch because
I couldn’t move. I wasn’t able to go on
trips longer than an hour without sitting on a pillow for years.
@NYTino24 This is going to sound really weird, but if your
tendinitis flares up, drink either milk or juice with Knox Gelatin Powder in
it. It tastes pretty bad, but something
about Knox Gelatin Powder makes the tendinitis pain go away. You’ll have to do it in the morning and in
the evening for two or three days, but it will last a long time. I used to work at this café that a lot of
hippies hung out in, and I had tendinitis in my wrist really bad. I was taking medication for it, and one of
them told me to try the gelatin powder.
I figured it’s cheap and I have nothing to lose, so I tried it, and it
surprisingly works. Now, DH and I both
drink it when we have tendinitis flare ups.
@Berg I hope you and DH have a better day today. I ran into a parked car when I was little,
too! I ended up breaking a tooth, so now
half of my front left tooth is fake.
@MommytoM13 Ear infections are the worst! I never had them as a child, but I had a
really severe one a few years ago. I
feel so bad for children and babies because I know it is more common with them,
and if it is that painful for an adult, it would have to be so much worst for a
child.
@Marley629 I take Clomid and have never experienced my temps
being off. I do typically have a few
temps above the cover line the days I’m actually taking Clomid, but I always
have a definite shift indicating ovulation.
@Saralee797 You do have a really nice chart this
month!! FX for your BFP!
@shstephenson I hope your ultrasound goes well today.
@eggplantface I know people have our best interest at heart,
but unsolicited advice/comments drive me crazy, too! I’m all for trying anything, but if there is
no science to back it up, I don’t want to hear it.
@nelbetron I had a painful ovarian cyst, once, too. I was sent home from work and I did end up
going to the ER because I thought it was appendicitis.
@Marley629 I will join you in your shame, alcohol was involved in my injury as well. Makes for good stories though!
Month/Cycle: 2/2
CD/DPO: 19/2

Testing: next Friday
R/R: Really busy and getting burnt out at work. I am so ready for a day off!!
CS/Q: nope
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? When DH and I were dating we took a trip to Vegas with some friends. We were walking back to our hotel from a night club and I fell hard down several steps of one of the outdoor escalators. It cut my shin open pretty good and my foot and leg were swollen for about a week. I never had an x-ray done but I still have a dent in my shin. Don't judge me!
I'm cautiously moving over because I've been terrible about tracking this month.... Also, my injury story got super long, sorry about that.
Month/Cycle: 10/10
CD/DPO: 19/3 (maybe? I think.... based on non-temp signs)
Timing: -1, 0, +1
Testing: not a clue. not anytime soon
R/R: same old same old
CS/Q: nothing to stalk
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? I used to work in a grocery store meat department. My boss was a jerk and all day he would spray the tables off into the trash can (55gal) so by the time I got it it weighed a ton and it was the evening shift (me) who was in charge of dumping it. So every evening I would take it out to the dumpster on a cart, open the door on the side and heft it up in there. The can had these tabs in a circle on the bottom so I would grab them to kinda shake the stuff out. So this one time, I do my usual struggle and get it in the door, grab the tabs and give it one good hard jostle. When I do, the box it was sitting on in the dumpster shifted and it fell in. It pulled my hands in with it and ripped the back of my index, middle and ring fingers open on my right hand, right across the knuckles. and of course this is a freaking dumpster so its filthy, the door had latched behind me and there was never anyone in the backroom so I had to walk about the length of a football field to the southern states at the end of our strip because they were the closest and had their back room sitting open so I could cut through their store back to the front of the strip-mall and then back the football field length again to the front of my store. I've got my apron strings wrapped around my fingers trying to slow the blood flow until I can get back to my store and office which was only helping marginally. I get in there and ask for the first aid kit. It had the bandages that I needed and at this point I've washed my hands but I know that theres still a risk of blood poisoning because of the bacteria and theres nothing to clean it with in the kit. I used to work at a zoo and with vultures if you get bit you dump alcohol on it to reduce the risk of blood-poisoning. So I squirted a bunch of hand sanitizer in my other hand and slap it on. I swear to you, I think that hurt worse than the actual gashing. After much teeth gritting, jumping up and down and mumbled choice words, the burning died down enough to bandage up. In the end, he tried to write me up and I threatened to inform corporate of the sexual harassment I had been dealing with since I was hired so he dropped it lol I still have a seriously nasty scar on my middle finger, the rest basically faded.
ETA: I did have a concussion back in December when I totaled my car. but I didnt think about that lol

GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had?
Not many. Does childbirth count as an injury?
I would have to say when I was first learning to snowboard
and I repeatedly fell onto my knees. It was early season so it was pretty icy.
When I got home my knees were so bruised they were swollen even in the back of
my legs. I got smarter and wore volleyball knee pads until I got the hang of
it.
@NYTino24 ouchhh!! Your injury makes me feel like such a
wuss.
@Cait32 how does one break their left foot three times!? Or
was it broken once in three places?
@Brooklyngirl6 you must have been getting DOWN on the dance
floor!
@marley629 omg the box of shame has me cracking up
@eggplantface and @tripledaggerwed95976 as someone who didn’t
use meds either – HOPEFULLY she was just sharing because she was proud that she
made it through childbirth in general. There are so many factors that play into
people’s choices during delivery – many of which are just out of our control.
Nobody should be made to feel bad about what they do to get their baby into he
world safely. I am a squeamish person
and just straight up didn’t want a big needle in my spine. To agree with you
though, I definitely didn’t share that on facebook or without being asked if I had
an epidural for that matter.
@callmemrschaos your injury sounds similar to my first
thought hahaha – although *TW* I strangely tore my labia which I guess isn’t as
common *TW*
@DungeonTrollMel O.M.Gee on your cliff jump! One, you are so
much braver than I am. Two, ouch!!!!!
@NYTino24 Case and point!! Charting for the win! @berg Ugh I missed NG but I heard it was hilarious. Can't wait to eventually watch it this weekend! @MommytoM13 Hope your temp stays up over the next couple days! Chin up @tripledaggerWed95976 !! Hugs!! @shstephenson Good luck at the Dr today!! @eggplantface Yea sure sounds like mommy shaming to me. I mean good for you hun doing au natural... but also like who cares? @CallMeMrsChaos My bff had one of her stones fall out and it was lost forever. I know it probably would have been okay but I would have had a heart attack waiting and also probably a major fight trying to get the sink dismantled. Thanks for the reassurance on my chart lol pray for my sanity over the next few days! @spk112 Hope you feel better soon! @dinosaur Yayy! You go here now! @delujm0 I love your siggy gif!! and anything the Office! @mrlight Not sure... post your chart and let's see... @lmc929 Happy Anniversary!!
@shstephenson sorry you're out fx that your ultrasound goes well!
@eggplantface Ugh I hate that! My sister had an all natural birth and keeps talking about it and how it was such an amazing experience and how I HAVE to do that when I decide (ugh) to get pregnant. Why do women feel the need to make other women feel bad about the choices they make with their own bodies??? At the end of the day, when/if I get to have a baby all I want is a healthy baby and healthy momma. Doesn't matter to me how I get there.
@NYTino24 I would have thought I was ku if I had not been temping this month with ovulating so late and not getting my period in the "regular" window! Its not BSC at all to temp!

GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had?
I stepped on broken glass in college and it went through my shoe and into then all of my foot by my toes. My foot was so swollen you couldn't distinguish my toes. Gross!
GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had? I tore a ligament in my knee during dance in high school.
@NYTino24 glad to see you here!

I hope your chart starts to make you less crazy!!

i was running down stairs to open the door in tall black heeled boots to let stupid friends in who insisted on ringing the bell despite being told not too at 1 am since my landlord lived below us and I missed the last stair and broke my foot clean and needed surgery and a couple of screws to fix it. This was like 10 years; alcohol may or may not have been involved.

HALP.GTKU: I tried Crossfit for the first time last July and ended up with Rhabdomyolysis aka the breakdown of muscle tissue that leads to the release of muscle fiber contents into the blood. It was such a fluky thing -- I was in decent shape before I started CF and the condition itself is very rare. My arms swelled up like Popeye and I was hospitalized for 3 days. Long story short, exercise will kill you

It sucked.

C'mon.

CS/Q: Thanks for the feedback yesterday on the thermometer. I tried it one last time today and still reads the same temp. Definitely broken.
GTKY Worst Injury: My Mom used to call me "BooBoo of the Day" so here's my top 3
1- I hurt my back in a really bad car accident.
Hahahaha
**pregnancy mentioned**
I was also 26 weeks pregnant at the time so they couldn't do anything with the stone. I had to deal with that off and on until my scheduled c-section at 38 weeks. I passed it the night before.

@JulesDP Eeek!
And as for the chart, yup my BSC flag would be flying high

I feel the same way about the women who feel the need to go on and on about how awesomely wonderful they are because they breastfeed their baby, while shaming women who formula feed because "breast is best." again, it's something ALL women used to do... You don't deserve a prize for it
@beckj34 What a horrible thing to happen! I hope you have recovered.
@DungeonTrollMel I hope your progesterone levels out nicely. That doesn't sound fun.

GTKU: A few months ago a glass bulb from a light fixture fell on my head and gave me a mild concussion. I was really dizzy for about a week. I also injured my back in a bad car crash (not my fault).
Man, I didn't think I was THAT late today, but you all are on page 2 already! I need to get in gear (or you know, stop going to work meetings...haha).

GTKU: What was the worst injury you ever had?
When I was 10, I was playing “Quiet Mouse, Still Mouse, Freeze” with my cousins. When the person that was "it" yelled “Freeze”, I was halfway sitting and halfway standing over a rocking chair. So, I decided to sit really fast. When I did, I hit the arm of the chair just right and cracked my tailbone. This happened on Christmas Eve, so the rest of my Christmas Break was spent in bed or on the couch because I couldn’t move. I wasn’t able to go on trips longer than an hour without sitting on a pillow for years.

@NYTino24 This is going to sound really weird, but if your tendinitis flares up, drink either milk or juice with Knox Gelatin Powder in it. It tastes pretty bad, but something about Knox Gelatin Powder makes the tendinitis pain go away. You’ll have to do it in the morning and in the evening for two or three days, but it will last a long time. I used to work at this café that a lot of hippies hung out in, and I had tendinitis in my wrist really bad. I was taking medication for it, and one of them told me to try the gelatin powder. I figured it’s cheap and I have nothing to lose, so I tried it, and it surprisingly works. Now, DH and I both drink it when we have tendinitis flare ups.
@Berg I hope you and DH have a better day today. I ran into a parked car when I was little, too! I ended up breaking a tooth, so now half of my front left tooth is fake.
@MommytoM13 Ear infections are the worst! I never had them as a child, but I had a really severe one a few years ago. I feel so bad for children and babies because I know it is more common with them, and if it is that painful for an adult, it would have to be so much worst for a child.
@Marley629 I take Clomid and have never experienced my temps being off. I do typically have a few temps above the cover line the days I’m actually taking Clomid, but I always have a definite shift indicating ovulation.
@Saralee797 You do have a really nice chart this month!! FX for your BFP!
@shstephenson I hope your ultrasound goes well today.
@eggplantface I know people have our best interest at heart, but unsolicited advice/comments drive me crazy, too! I’m all for trying anything, but if there is no science to back it up, I don’t want to hear it.
@nelbetron I had a painful ovarian cyst, once, too. I was sent home from work and I did end up going to the ER because I thought it was appendicitis.
@CallMeMrsChaos Your injury is terrifying to me.
@delujm0 What a scary experience! I’m glad you ended up being okay!

Also, my injury story got super long, sorry about that.

I would have to say when I was first learning to snowboard and I repeatedly fell onto my knees. It was early season so it was pretty icy. When I got home my knees were so bruised they were swollen even in the back of my legs. I got smarter and wore volleyball knee pads until I got the hang of it.
@NYTino24 ouchhh!! Your injury makes me feel like such a wuss.
@Cait32 how does one break their left foot three times!? Or was it broken once in three places?
@Brooklyngirl6 you must have been getting DOWN on the dance floor!
@marley629 omg the box of shame has me cracking up
@eggplantface and @tripledaggerwed95976 as someone who didn’t use meds either – HOPEFULLY she was just sharing because she was proud that she made it through childbirth in general. There are so many factors that play into people’s choices during delivery – many of which are just out of our control. Nobody should be made to feel bad about what they do to get their baby into he world safely. I am a squeamish person and just straight up didn’t want a big needle in my spine. To agree with you though, I definitely didn’t share that on facebook or without being asked if I had an epidural for that matter.
@callmemrschaos your injury sounds similar to my first thought hahaha – although *TW* I strangely tore my labia which I guess isn’t as common *TW*

@lmc929 Happy Anniversary!!
