@motherhubbard19 I only check CM when wiping so I may not be the right person to ask since I don't experience any confusion - my EWCM is noticeably different from residual sperm. But I think checking the next day after evening BD should be enough time.
@Aurora1973 I read that you shouldn't put bras in the washer at all so I am right there with you! When it's bra washing day, there are bras everywhere in our apartment. DH thinks it is so weird.
@adirat LOL, and I'm sure it's true, yet I do. But not the dryer! I'm only doing it half-right, haha. I do try to use a lingerie bag (although mine got lost when we moved, so I need to buy a new one) and hook them so they don't snag on other clothes.

@Aurora1973 Yes, I just started last week and went again earlier this week. Ideally, I will go the day before or right before my IUI and right after. The practice is in the same office as my RE so its super convenient to coordinate the two. I like it but I find it a little weird trying to relax there and last time I went in the middle of the day so it was hard to back to work after essentially napping for 30 minutes.

@laurad75 Yes, I've had that trouble, too. I've been scheduling after work because of that and so that I can avoid taking more time off. That's not always an option, I know. Plus, the first 10 or 15 minutes of driving home is odd, too, LOL That's awesome you're doing it in conjunction with IUI. FX for you!!

@adirat The reason I am curious is because (and this is the probably TMI part) I have noticed I have a lot of discharge the morning/day after having unprotected sex. We BD'd last night I checked my CM earlier today and it was definitely EW consistency (CP was really high too, assuming I am checking correctly) where yesterday it was watery. Yesterday was the first time I have ever checked and like I said I am not consistently charting these things yet. Just curious about it all and want to make sure I am doing it right and I was not sure if it was only that consistency because I had sex last night or because I am about to O. All the ladies on here seem very helpful so I figured I would ask. Hope my question makes sense.
@motherhubbard19 One of the things that I read (I think it was in TCOYF) is that CM does not dissolve in water and semen does. If you are checking internally, you can try putting the discharge in water and if it dissolves, it's not CM. If you are just checking when wiping like @adirat does, I'm not sure if there would be a way to tell the two apart
If you haven't read TCOYF yet, I would recommend you pick up a copy and read it. It is incredibly informative about the way our bodies work!

@JDW0325 of coarse you can join us in our waiting game. I'm so sorry for your loss, it sucks. Has your dr been motoring your HCG levels as well? I'll keep checking in with you, it's nice to have the support and know your not in this waiting game alone.
@hartmich My anniversary was a bit of a bust. Hubby got home from work just after 9, we busted out the wine and then my son woke up. It took me awhile to get him back to sleep and hubby was unconscious on the couch by the time I came back down, so I slammed my wine and we want to bed. He's promising me a nice dinner date this weekend (but I don't know if he will turn down work to actually pull through on that!)

@hartmich My dr suggested waiting for my body to heal. I feel like my dr is pretty progressive so maybe this is just a rule of thumb thing that she follows? I feel ready though. Hmmmm
@redpuma119 My dr said the reason they used to ask people to wait was mostly for timing reasons but with ultrasounds and what not there is really no reason not to try if you feel ready.

I believe if you are checking with wiping, semen dissolves into the toilet paper a bit, but EWCM just sits on top. I could be wrong, though.

I remember reading something along these lines but I couldn't remember if it was semen that dissolves in the TP or if it was urine. Thanks @britters314!

Thanks @britters314 -- this must explain why I have never had an issue differentiating leftovers from EWCM! They do look quite different on the toilet paper.

GTKU: What obsessions do you have? (i.e. Having things folded, turned, ordered a certain way? Like what really bothers you if it isn't done a certain way?) So. Many. Things. I want the toilet paper roll a certain direction, things folded just so, the order of the dishes coming out of the dishwasher in a certain order. I can be fairly neurotic, which is a little sad.
Thanks everyone for the good vibes and being so supportive! So this is how I feel after my appointment.
*TW- super emotional/whiny writing ahead* I just feel like I waited for so long for this appointment and didn't expect the doctor to say "oh here's what wrong- I'll fix that right up for you asap." but I'm still so in the dark and maybe even more confused now and there's more waiting. Our next appointment isn't even for 6 weeks, because all the test results have to come in before we can take more steps. I was told to diet, had to get all kinds of blood work done, had 2 ultrasounds and have more testing to do on me and hubby in the next few weeks. He did write out a plan of future steps and paths to lead to conception, so I feel like there is hope. Maybe the test results will point to what is wrong with me. *End TW* OK sad whiny rant over, moving forward. The one fun fact I learned was during my ultrasound when the doctor noted their was pooling so I would be ovulating soon. So MAYBE I will ovulate and get KU and not have to do any of these tests or drugs or fight with DH on getting a SA and blood taken. (You don't get to whine to me about an orgasm in a cup while I have to make small talk with the tech doing the vaginal ultrasound ok.) Anyways, thanks for all the love and support ladies!
@maebee87 I have to admit when I first went to the RE I sort of thought we would have meeting, do some tests and get down to the business of making a baby. I didn't realize that some of the tests were cycle day specific and it took almost 2 cycles to get everything done before we finally got down to brass tacks. it was a bit frustrating especially since several times my RE said a lot of women get KTFU just before/after the consultation or after the HSG, but each time I was like NOPE still not KTFU. Hang in there, and hugs to you.

If I don't have something close to the colors I am wearing, I go with tan! @laurad75 Haha yeah, and lately all I have been wearing is dresses so I don't get annoyed when I don't have the same shade of a color (like dark grey pants and light grey cardigan). @ladystinson I don't envy you. I hope things get better with your ex. My sis has a similar issue, but he only wants some custody to avoid paying child support. He also got a judge to rule that she doesn't get any support (even though 3/4 of her kids are his and one has Down Syndrome with heart and lung issues) because she makes more than he does.

R/R: I left for my internship this morning and 20 minutes into my drive I kept obsessively thinking "did I forget to let the dog back in?" and I worried he would just kind of wander off into the neighborhood. Of course he was in the house (where I knew he would be) but I do this kind of thing all the time "did I forget to turn my flat iron off?" etc.
Temps are staying highish but dropping... and I had definite EWCM today in greater amounts and quality than I've observed at any point this cycle or last cycle... so I'm reeeeallly hoping that's a good sign that I am just entering FW instead of waiting on AF. DH is home tonight so tonight or tomorrow we can commence BD just in case

I'm actually pretty chill. DH is the one who obsesses over things. Although it does get on my nerves when he puts dishes in the sink but the dishwasher has dirty dishes... just put them away... I mean at least CHECK to make sure the dishwasher doesn't contain clean dishes...you're a grown up and I shouldn't have to do it for you!
@Pinky917 OPKs can vary throughout the month before a
positive, not everybody sees a fade in or out. Its possible that you missed the
surge but also very possible that it just hasn’t happened yet. I test once a
day but have tested twice a day when I think O is getting close. They say you
don’t have to keep testing after you get a + but it may be helpful to establish
how long your surge is for future reference
@Georgiawife6912 I am very curious about CBAD, may use them
next cycle after my experience this cycle if I in fact missed my surge with
wondfo. Hopefully you O soon!!
@purplg8r first graders are the sweetest! I hope you O soon
@maebee87 Fx you are able to get the answers you’re looking
for, hopefully the testing will help your next appointment to feel a lot more
productive. I’m really sorry that you’re feeling down L
@hartmich I hear you on spending too much time in WTO
Many of us seem to be here twice as long as TWW! That may be why we seem to
surpass TWW posts like 90% of the time! Haha there are sooo many posts in this
thread
@BaileyM321 I am glad you are feeling more at peace with the
decision, Fx this is your cycle!
@CallaLily25 DH and I are not worrying about saliva yet. It
does tend to dry up quickly as a lubricant and all the studies I’ve seen were
laboratory conditions- not real life. So some saliva that makes its way into
your vagina that is also alongside cervical mucus and semen and arousal fluid...
it just doesn’t seem like it could make a THAT much of a difference to me
(petri dish studies could not replicate the real environment). I’d be curious
if someone can find a study that looks at actual habits and pregnancy outcomes.
I’ll think about changing that behavior if/when its been a while without
success… but its such a significant part of our usual foreplay routine I’d feel
awkward completely changing it right off the bat (that seems to be an ‘unpopular
opinion’ around here though and I think most of the women here do go the extra
mile to make sure no saliva is present. Its really a personal decision)
WAYDTGKU: Right now, just pouting. I ordered B6 vitamins in hopes of lengthening my luteal phase.
R/R: Welp CD1 is my rant. Held out all day and I thought I could possibly get through 10dpo before it came. Then it just came about 10 minutes ago. Rave: DH just made cookies and I'm looking forward to the weekend.

@PolarBear517 I'm very OCD about leaving things turned on. I've had to go home many times and I seriously freak out if I think I left something on. We put a night light in the outlet where I straightenen my hair so I tell myself out loud that I'm unplugging the straightener & plugging in the night light and that sometimes helps
Wow so busy in here today, I was honestly half expecting to see something bad went down when I saw the sheer number of posts lol Glad it was just everyone being awesome and supportive!!!!
i just wanted to quickly say THANK YOU to @purplg8r for reminding me to insert some preseed tonight before our one time only BD in my FW (if it even counts still lol) just to give me some semblance of hope lol! I also wonder about the applicators, tho. I assume they say not to reuse to avoid infection since they might be tricky to clean??? I keep meaning to ask if they sell applicators separately at the drugstore (I've had similar ones in yeast infection medicine before so thought maybe it might be a thing).
And lastly, I might have some of you ladies beat. Not only is DH terrible about putting stuff in the dishwasher, what ticks me off most is when he puts his dirty dishes BESIDE THE SINK!!!! Doesn't rinse or put water in them or anything. I'm like COME ON...at LEAST put them IN the sink!
Sorry I never got to come back and reply... internet at home is on the fritz and mobile bumping sucks.
@zwink1 My wondfos finally arrived. I will definitely be using those from here on out... at least after I use the last CBAD tomorrow. Because I sure as heck won't be buying those again. @vflux33 that was my thinking when I bought them as well. I figured a digital reading would be much easier but these have literally driven me BSC! @bumpybump Sorry for CD1

WAYDTGKU: same old same old. vitamins, HIO ED now, eating better, more water, more sleep, blah blah blah
R/R: rant: ex-H is being a douche and trying to take a week vacation with DS after Christmas. He was supposed to take it during the summer. in the past I would let him do it whenever but DS is in school now so how about no?
rave: I told him no. just outright no. I refuse to be bullied by him anymore. I have physical custody for a reason, I am making the decision for what is best for DS. and its all because of DH that I have finally reacquired a backbone lol
CS/Q: nope, only toward myself.... wth were you thinking not temping? loser lol
GTKU: What obsessions do you have? (i.e. Having things folded, turned, ordered a certain way? Like what really bothers you if it isn't done a certain way?) I have to be even. for example, if I scratch my leg (when there isn't an itch) I have to scratch the other leg in the same place. Someone brushes my arm, I have to brush the other. It's much, much worse when I'm stressed but its always there. Meh, it is what it is.

.....or am I?
Month/Cycle: 3/3
So. Many. Things. I want the toilet paper roll a certain direction, things folded just so, the order of the dishes coming out of the dishwasher in a certain order. I can be fairly neurotic, which is a little sad.
So this is how I feel after my appointment.
*TW- super emotional/whiny writing ahead*
I just feel like I waited for so long for this appointment and didn't expect the doctor to say "oh here's what wrong- I'll fix that right up for you asap." but I'm still so in the dark and maybe even more confused now and there's more waiting.
*End TW*
OK sad whiny rant over, moving forward.
The one fun fact I learned was during my ultrasound when the doctor noted their was pooling so I would be ovulating soon. So MAYBE I will ovulate and get KU and not have to do any of these tests or drugs or fight with DH on getting a SA and blood taken. (You don't get to whine to me about an orgasm in a cup while I have to make small talk with the tech doing the vaginal ultrasound ok.)
Anyways, thanks for all the love and support ladies!

WAYDTGKU: temping, OPKs, charting CM
CS/Q: Nope
GTKU: What obsessions do you have? (i.e. Having things folded, turned, ordered a certain way? Like what really bothers you if it isn't done a certain way?)
@Pinky917 OPKs can vary throughout the month before a positive, not everybody sees a fade in or out. Its possible that you missed the surge but also very possible that it just hasn’t happened yet. I test once a day but have tested twice a day when I think O is getting close. They say you don’t have to keep testing after you get a + but it may be helpful to establish how long your surge is for future reference
@leekat14 fx for an obvious O shift!! J
@Georgiawife6912 I am very curious about CBAD, may use them next cycle after my experience this cycle if I in fact missed my surge with wondfo. Hopefully you O soon!!
@purplg8r first graders are the sweetest! I hope you O soon
@maebee87 Fx you are able to get the answers you’re looking for, hopefully the testing will help your next appointment to feel a lot more productive. I’m really sorry that you’re feeling down L
@hartmich I hear you on spending too much time in WTO Many of us seem to be here twice as long as TWW! That may be why we seem to surpass TWW posts like 90% of the time! Haha there are sooo many posts in this thread
@BaileyM321 I am glad you are feeling more at peace with the decision, Fx this is your cycle!
@CallaLily25 DH and I are not worrying about saliva yet. It does tend to dry up quickly as a lubricant and all the studies I’ve seen were laboratory conditions- not real life. So some saliva that makes its way into your vagina that is also alongside cervical mucus and semen and arousal fluid... it just doesn’t seem like it could make a THAT much of a difference to me (petri dish studies could not replicate the real environment). I’d be curious if someone can find a study that looks at actual habits and pregnancy outcomes. I’ll think about changing that behavior if/when its been a while without success… but its such a significant part of our usual foreplay routine I’d feel awkward completely changing it right off the bat (that seems to be an ‘unpopular opinion’ around here though and I think most of the women here do go the extra mile to make sure no saliva is present. Its really a personal decision)
@laurad75 Good luck with your phone interview!!
@adirat Yay for FW timing! Fx this is your cycle!!
@SugarGirl1019 I’m sorry you’re feeling crappy L fx you & DH recover quickly!
@bumpybump sorry about CD1

I can't stand the sink to be dirty or have water spots. I also need toilet paper to sit the right away (over the roll). I'm pretty picky about our bar stools to be pushed in a certain way, too.
@deadasthatsquirrel - Love that picture!!!

i just wanted to quickly say THANK YOU to @purplg8r for reminding me to insert some preseed tonight before our one time only BD in my FW (if it even counts still lol) just to give me some semblance of hope lol!
