Oh boys sometimes! I really needed this thread last week when my husband wondered out loud if breech/transverse babies was part of natural selection. Did I mention our baby is currently head up?
There was the other time in the first few months when I was throwing up all day from MS that he said, "Really? you're not even that pregnant". Best comment he ever made: Midwife keeps thanking him for coming to the appointment because she knows he has to "keep the ball rolling" and he told me I do half of the rolling myself and she looked at me in surprise. She later apologized for making such a sexist remark. DH knows how much stuff like that annoys me and said he didn't even think about it when he said it.

@MBS2016 that reminds me of another one! I'd asked him if he would get me a cup of water earlier in the pregnancy (maybe 3-4 months) and he said: "You should save your favors for when you really need them!"
"How would you feel about not getting an epidural this time?"- DH, while looking through our bills from last birth to plan for this one... He claims he was kidding.
"How would you feel about not getting an epidural this time?"- DH, while looking through our bills from last birth to plan for this one... He claims he was kidding.
Okay, I'm a FTM, but this one made me seriously laugh out loud. As I have to remind my DH, not all decisions are solely based on money!
From earlier in pregnancy. Every time I would get sick and he was there he would ask me what was wrong... My answer was always "I'm pregnant". I thought that was a silly question.
DH hasn't said anything mean or straight stupid, but tonight when he was snuggling with my belly, he told me my skin smells like a brand new baby, and he took a big deep breath and smiled. He's said that before, but something about it tonight really touched my heart.
My DH has been really great and I can't complain at all. He's only said one thing to me that's been funny and that's comparing my belly button to a butthole. But he uses my pregnancy as an excuse at work a lot. "No I can't stay late, but if I have to would you like to call my pregnant wife and tell her?" Needless to say he doesn't have to stay late because they refuse to call me out of fear. Lol. Funny thing is is I've been fantastic in mood at least with my DH. The odd time I'll have a moment but they are rare. So I find it funny that DH makes me out to me a crazy hormonal pregnant lady right now. He's used the pregnancy card more than I have! Haha
Last night I was folding laundry and DH was helping me put everything away. I asked him to get down in the floor and peer beneath the bed to see if one of the cats had swiped a sock. He cutely looked at me and said, "But I'm pregnant!" After we both laughed, he rescued my sock. Pesky cats.
This isn't DH's first rodeo, so he knows what will piss me off haha. He's been pretty good this time around. Even when he complains about being tired, he'll end it with, "But I know it's nothing compared to you since your pregnant."
He has been on a fitness kick the past few months, though, and he keeps updating me on his weight loss. I'm proud of him, but I swear I'm just gaining every pound he loses. So it makes me kind of ornery to hear how he's lost 16lbs when that's the exact amount that I've gained so far.
DH can be a real jerk sometimes, but he can also be super caring/loving, etc. Most of the time he jokes ("She's on the heftier side these days", or something along that line), but they could be taken seriously or jokingly... depending on who else is around.
I can't think of everything he has said during these last 6+ months, but I think he's in for a real shock what happens after I give birth and what I'll need. From what you gals have posted, stuff like bigger underwear, thick pads for the bleeding, how had it is for your first poop after giving birth, etc. He was also shocked that I can't really be working out for quite a few weeks after birthing a child. FTP and he hasn't read up on anything, so when I bring stuff up it's such a shock.
LinziLoo09 DH hasn't been working out like your DH, but he has actually lost weight during these months. Before getting PG, I tried to lose even 5lbs. in the year prior (after putting some weight on and obviously not being able to get rid of it). And he's here doing nothing and losing weight. And I just see the scale creeping up day after day (yes, I know normal... but after weight battles my whole life, it's still tough to see).

I have to preface these for them to be as funny as they were for me. Still vomit every morning from MS. Before we were pregnant, I did 6 cycles of fertility treatment 1-2 injections per day for 20+ days each time, with blood draws every 2-3 days on top of that. Then 12 weeks of daily progesterone injections when I did get pregnant.
Today at my Dr. Apt DH got the flu shot with me. He had tons of questions about the side effects, he said, if this makes me wake up miserable I'm not going to be very happy. Awe one day feeling miserable first thing in the morning? Sounds awful! Then on the drive home he kept lifting his arm and he was like, did your shot hurt, that hurt really bad! I couldn't contain my laughter and laughed very loudly in his face. One little shot was really bothering him. Oh the pain he goes through for his child
I have to give him credit though, he is not a flu shot person, has never been, and has never gotten one in his life. This was a big decision for him to make to protect his baby and I was very proud.
Yes to the the DH's losing weight! We have a fancy Bluetooth scale that can usually tell who is who. But now we're within 10 pounds of each other so whenever I check my weight it sends the info to his phone and he freaks out that his chart is messed up and doesn't show his "downward trend". I just roll my eyes.
@Pgh_Kel DH learned that lesson while pregnant with DD1. He rarely comments on my pregnancy body anymore, but tends to forget that I evacuated a child about two weeks post and likes to comment on things then. He apparently find humor in my misery.

My hubs likes to make me laugh... So he says all manner of things... He regularly (during all pregnancies) calls me a "tug boat", "pumpkin"... Today when I put on my bra he said, "That doesn't look like that's supportive enough!" Which is funny because I'm not very big. I also lose all ability to cook well when pregnant (I swear my taste buds go wonky) and I tried making Orange Chicken (like Chinese) last week... It was so gross, and no matter what I tried it was still just not right. Last night he said, "remember that time you made orange chicken... But really wished I had made it on account of your pregnancy tongue." It just makes me laugh!
A few weeks back DH said, "So how much wait have you gained? It's probably not as much as it looks." I cried so hard I couldn't catch my breath. Not a fun night! Apparently he didn't mean it in a nasty way and he apologized profusely and has not said anything about my weight since.

The weight gain comments also go both ways... I haven't been able to gain much because of MS and FI's grandmother makes simultaneous comments about how big I am but also how Rhett won't be healthy if I don't start gaining more?? Like seriously, my OB keeps a close eye on my weight gain and says we're both fine although she is still trying to help me control the MS. Until FI's 85 year old grandmother goes to medical school I don't want to hear another word about Rhett not being healthy.
I mentioned to DH tonight I hadn't gained 19 pounds so far and expected to gain at least another 5. His response? "Thats pretty much the amount weight I lost, so you know it should be gone in 3 months." Yeah, because it's always that easy.

It could come off from nursing, but not everyone has that luck. I didn't gain more than 10lbs last time, and I lost on average 2-3lbs a week while nursing on demand. It has something to do with the hormones+what hormones are in the stored fat. It's weird, but you should be able to find it pretty easily in Google.
@ashleaf2018 Don't worry about weight gain. Last time I ate any&everything and lost weight until I got PreE. So far this round I'm up a whopping 6 lbs and baby is estimated at 4-4.5 of that.

@Kate08Young I'm up 4 pounds as of today. It fluctuates a lot. I'm not worried about it because my OB isn't but FI's grandma stressing is making me stress, ya know what I mean?
Omg a lot of your DHs are so sweet! The sweetest thing my DH has said is he thinks the baby kicking feels beautiful. And the worst was telling me my vagina felt slimier during sex and wasn't as enjoyable. I cried. A lot. I was like, small price to pay for you! But he gets me food at 11pm if I say I have a craving for something. I don't even have to ask. He just says, I'll go get it.
DH continued on a weight kick tonight. Just as a I sat down with a bag of candy he pointed out that I now weigh more than the dog. That actually made me laugh because our dog is huge and we've always commented how she weighs the most in the house, but now I win that prize.
DH has been bribing me with food. The other day he sends me a text with a picture of his lunch. So I tell him he's an a$$ because I'm still hungry. He responds, oh this is yours, you just have to pick me up from work to get it! Then yesterday he calls me and says "Guess what! I am eating chocolate cake from Portillo's!" That ensued another rage monster phoenix and he just laughs and says to come get him and he'll share. Jerk wasn't even eating the cake. So we get home and share the cake. Later we went out to Portillo's and got more chocolate cake and I ate the whole thing and didn't share No shame, sorry not sorry.

I can't stress the weight gain. I love food and tend to just eat what makes me happy. Currently jalapeño cheese tots! DH would make comments with DD2 as I put weight on in different places with her. Funny how different pregnancies really do carry different. With this little man I threw the majority of my weight on in the beginning of the second trimester. I'm up 23 pounds from my pre pregnancy weight and haven't put a pound on in over 6 weeks. Things will fluctuate. Enjoy all the foods ladies. I swear it just tastes better pregnant!

I'm starting to wonder if DH is secretly slipping in weight gaining powder into my coffee or something.. (Or giving me weight gain bars - Mean Girls) He's always loved a curvier woman and has been encouraging the weight gain. I'm working on not getting too upset, but I've gained 45 pounds, all since the end of the first trimester. I eat a lot of fruits & veggies, walk to work everyday + extra 3 days per week & drink 6 liters of water per day. The weight gain is seriously uncontrollable at this point. Thank God I am 5'8" and can handle it. He has been awesome when I laughed and told him this is so crazy he is encouraging about all of it and is amazed at how he's eating more than me and I'm gaining it all. Some of the positive comments make up for the slip ups
You know what strikes me most about this thread? Our SOs can say some of the dumbest things, but for the most part they are all trying and most of the idiotic comments just come from being a little clueless. And you know what? Even if DH says something that pisses me off, all he has to do to make me forget it is cuddle my belly and talk to LO. Makes me all teary eyed sometimes, thinking about what an awesome dad he's going to be.

Oh my gosh, this is my DH and me! I think it's because we are having a boy this time, he wants to make sure the baby is super healthy. So he's always encouraging me to relax and eat more! I've gained 30 lbs so far, and am now in the swelling more everyday stage. But I'm only 5'3", so it's not fun. But we eat so healthy and I am super active, the weight gain just does its own thing from here on out...
@yellingbanana The best silver lining I can think about this uncontrollable weight gain is that it 'technically' should come off a little easier since it's more water/healthy foods weight rather than carbs/sweets weight.
Conversation DH and I had as I was attempting to get out of bed. Me: I can't roll over, help me. DH: Why can't you roll over? Me: Because I'm at the edge of the bed and will fall off if I do. DH: So just scootch over a little, then roll over. Me: Easy for you to say. *tries and fails* Ugh I feel like a beached whale! DH: But you're a beautiful beached whale.

This one goes out to my brother in law. While giving my belly a good scratch last night he looks at my stomach and just says holy s*it, that things huge! Thanks yo.
While at my mom's house, husband is downstairs and asks me to come to the stairs. When I get there, he asks if I will throw his shirts into the dryer for him and proceeds to throw them to me at the top of the stairs. I catch one...the other lands on the top step. He then proceeds to laugh at me while I keep trying to bend over to pick it up from the top landing. It took me a while to pick it up.
I asked DH if he thought we needed someone to take care of our cats while we were at the hospital during the birth. He said no, I'll be minutes from the house. Then he said, plus, I'll come back to sleep. .....wait, what??! I said no, you'll sleep at the hospital with me. He was like, oh, are there recliners there? I said yes, pull outs, but that's besides the point. We'll have just had a BABY. Of course you'll stay at the hospital with me. WTF?! I know he wasn't able to make it for the hospital tour but, isn't that common knowledge...?!
@SaraRose83 Not really. My hospital tour guide said 'if you decide to have someone stay the night'
At that point I didn't want to deal with him at each feeding or diaper change so I sent him home. It worked for us, and will most likely be the route we go this time.
