I got a call that I'm no immune against Rubella. I got the MMR when I was 10 and/or 14 so no surprise. Has this happened to anyone? I'm not too worried because it's not a common disease. If this did happen to you, did you just get the vaccination after you had the baby or did you just forgo it since the disease doesn't really exist anymore (I wasn't told anything)?
They said mine was wearing away too. I have a 12 wk checking next week and am going to ask my dr. If you're stressed, I would just call the Drs office.
I wasn't immune with either of my girls. The first hospital I delivered at forgot to give it to me after birth, but I made sure to get it last time. I wouldn't worry about it though, it's incredibly rare.
Apparently 2-5% of people immunized for rubella do not become immune after just 1 dose. It may not be that you're no longer immune but rather that you are just non-immune or immunity levels were low to begin with. It's unsafe to receive the vaccine during pregnancy, which is probably why your doctor didn't say much about it. After you give birth you'll likely get 1-2 MMR vaccines, they don't have a singular vaccine for rubella anymore.
i had the same thing happen. I read that a baby or adult that get the MMR there's a possibility they could shed the virus. So DD and I got the vaccine on the same day to be safe. As an adult you probably won't need to take 2 doses so I just got the one dose when she got the first vaccines.
