I woke up to an email saying my Instagram password had been changed. And, when I did the "forgot password" it sent the reset to a different email address (not mine). So, I had to reset through my cell phone number and I quickly realized that Instagram has zero questions to prove who you are; you just type in your phone number and they send the link. This is ridiculous. Also, this is the second time in like 2-3 weeks that my Instagram account has been hacked. I have like 50 followers and post mainly dog and food pics. Why?!?
Today can suck it!! Last night our AC decided to go out again >:( We moved into our house at the beginning of April and we've already had to get it fixed one time this summer! Plus, we're kinda broke until the end of this week before we even have to pay for the AC repair today. So I'm grumpy because it was really hot last night so I didn't sleep well, I'm achy, and now have to worry about bills. Can I just not adult this week?
@MLRocha that's happened to me a few times. Like, who in the hell wants to see my IG pics? And second, really? It's IG. Go big or go home if you're going to hack into something.
Recently I've gotten requests from people with naked chicks as their profile photo. Yeah, um, nope.
I finally went out and bought some maternity clothing after naively thinking I could get away with my other clothes just fine for a lot longer. I hope everyone loves that I'll be wearing either DH's sweatpants or the same 2 outfits for the next 4 months and beyond. I understand it comes with the territory but I feel so selfish spending money on temporary clothes when we have so many other things we need. Then I put on those maternity jeans and I may live in belly bands for the rest of my life.
@yogadevil I felt the same way. I thought I could get by with what I had for a while but after terrible stomach pains last week my stomach grew beyond what comfortably fits in my clothes. I had to buy a couple things which feel great and make me feel guilty at the same time. I have to buy a maternity winter coat which really sucks. So much money and I will wear it one winter.
@blush64 I'm dreading having to buy the winter coat too.. I checked out Goodwill and some garage sales this weekend and had no luck. Kinda kicking myself for buying a cute little tight ski jacket 2 seasons ago because it already can't zip
But like you, I feel pretty great in the clothes I did buy. I did a little fashion show for DH because I was so excited and his reaction really boosted my self esteem lol.
I ordered our crib and mattress from Target.com last week because they were running a promotion that if you spend $250 or more you get a $50 gift card for free. Sweet. So I have the crib set to pick up in store to avoid shipping costs, but the mattress is online only, so I have it shipped to my house. All on the same order, and the order even shows that I will be receiving a $50 gift card via e-mail.
Hubby picks up the mattress later that day (this was Wednesday) and the lady at the store tells him my gift card will be e-mail in 24 hours. Thursday I get a notification my mattress has shipped. Friday, still no gift card. So I call target and am told the system is down to try back later. Saturday, still no gift card. I check my order online and it says our crib still hasn't been picked up and the gift card is still "preparing to send". I call Target and inform them that we already picked up the crib the same day we ordered it and we still haven't got the gift card. She apologizes and says I should receive the gift card in 24 hours.
Sunday, no gift card.
I wake up today and I have two e-mails from Target, one says my gift card has been cancelled. The other says my crib order has been cancelled due to my failure to pick it up and that the $225 I paid for it will be refunded back to me. What!? I call Target again and explain that two people have now told me I'd receive that gift card and I never got it, but it's now been cancelled, and we picked up the crib on Wednesday. The guy apologizes and tells me he can't give me the gift card because my order no longer qualifies since we didn't get the crib. Then I raged out and explained AGAIN that we DID the get the crib, I'm staring at it right now. We've had it for days, and I alerted them to that problem on Saturday. He then tells me he'll give me a $10 store credit for the inconvenience. So I raged out again and told him that was unacceptable, I have the crib, my order qualified, I want the gift card. Ultimately, he e-mailed me a gift card for $50 (WIN).
However, I am very curious to see how this crib situation will play out now, because they still haven't fully taken the $225 out of my account, it's still in a "pending" status. I am curious to see if they fix their mistake and the charge goes through, like it should....or if they cancel the charge and I get my money back (because my order still shows the crib as cancelled and a refund being processed)....and quote honestly, if they do give me the money back, I'm not calling again to tell them about their mistake. I'm so over it. I'll just count hat as a double win for me since they are being stupid.
I know I will sound like a wimp but I don't think I could keep the crib for free if I knew it was due to a mistake. I am sorry about the huge hassle the store gave you. So many times I wonder how some people keep their jobs.
Edit My husband would keep the crib and any credit they offered. I guess that is the popular choice.
Edit I have worked retail before and I know it is the store's mistake completely. I wouldn't judge anyone for keeping it after clearly telling then you had it.
I worked in retail for a long time. She said she picked up the crib. it is not her fault if they refund her.
also, at the risk of sounding like a Marxist, it's not like Target is some local mom and pop store. They will not go bankrupt if they have a crib go missing.
Here I sat, in my cubicle, feeling all superior about my chili eating skills. And, on the very last bite, which I decided to dump onto a saltine cracker, I drop a bunch and some splatters onto my light grey pants. Sigh.
I'm a complete goody two shoes, but I would have to tell them not to refund the crib. I know you have tried, but I would feel guilty. Or worry that they would later find the problem and charge me when I wasn't expecting it. My DH would totally be fine with it though, as long as we told them we had it.
I was once purchasing a couple hundred dollars of remodeling supplies from home depot, and noticed about $150 worth of stuff was missing. I told the clerk before we even checked out, and he pointed to a $4 box of screws and said that was it. I told him no, he said yes, I gave up and kept my free stuff.
You told them their mistake a couple times, they don't care. Any profit they'd have made on the crib has already been eaten up by the associates working on this issue. Smile, nod, and do something good with the money! You can donate it to me if you'd really feel happier without it!
DH took DS to the dentist alone today because I have to work. I'm glad I scheduled it during my lunch break because I had to spend half my lunch getting another office to fax over a treatment plan he forgot. Then he realized he left the SS card and insurance card at home. Luckily I have SS # memorized and he can pull up insurance on his phone.
And just watch, he'll ask why I stress so much the next time he has to do something like that without me.
My Monday BF is my student loans! They are astronomically high and give me horrible anxiety. I quit my job due to a variety of reasons and called my loan company to ask if they could lower the $3300 a month payment and defer for the month of Sept. They agreed to lower pending I submit my current income documents. And they also agreed to put me in forebearance for the month of September but my loan will accrue $2000 in interest for one month of non payment!!! It's incredibly frustrating. I wish I had never gone to a private University, the amount of debt is so not worth it. Most of my classmates currently pay anywhere from $1600-3000 a month in loan payments. Grrrr!

@foxrosy Between H's med school loans and my law school loans, I am basically a loan/repayment guru. Really not trying to toot my own horn, but I just finished filing the paperwork to get H's payment from $1500 to $110 a month. PM me if you need help/have questions
Holy shit. This Canadian is sitting over here like
I'm really sorry, that is such a huge added stress. I have the occasional bitch about the Canadian SL system, but I think I need to shut my mouth on that one.
@PerraSucia I'm a nurse practitioner and I truly love it. I feel stupid complaining about this but it's so frustrating! When I first got accepted into the school I almost declined because it was so expensive. But the financial counselor assured my income would be great and paying the loan would be completely doable without strain. What a joke! All of my classmates agree we would never do this again if we had to do it over. I was just so eager to enter into a nursing program after two years of applying! Nursing school was so competitive to get into. I'm gonna shut up now. I hate sounding like a whiner.

Whaaaaaaaaat!? Are they government loans or private ?
Yup, government loans. I don't have to deal with our private ones until next year when his forbearance is up. But even private loans have an income-based repayment option
+1 on keep the crib if they refund you. You told them, multiple times that you have it and picked it up.
My BF today is actually my inlaws. I just hate how hard it is to ask them for any favors when it comes to the kids. Like they love them, they watch other grandkids during the week, but if I need to go to the office for two hours, it's always an inconvenience to drop off one or more of mine. My parents come home from Florida next week thank goodness.

I feel like they need to have a better loan education program before going into college so kids can make smarter decisions. It's so easy to read the document and say yup I owe $X and I'll start paying after graduation with interest rate of Y% but what got me was it just didn't really feel real plus it wasn't like I was signing it all up in a lump sum I signed it each quarter for the amount of the quarter which didn't seem like that big of an amount until I graduated and realized how much it added up to, what my monthly payments were going to be, and what that meant in terms of my budget.
