When is your due date? December 7. As a history teacher (specifically WWII), having the due date fall on Pearl Harbor Day was about the coolest thing ever.
What part of the world are you from (be as vague/specific as you want)? SF Bay Area
What number baby/pregnancy is this for you? First! I've been looking forward to this for years.
What is your occupation or dream occupation? I'm a high school teacher, which has been awesome - never a dull moment! I always wanted to be a lawyer though. When I was in college, the plan was to be a Navy lawyer, but then I joined a band and that derailed that whole plan. I was thinking about going to law school right before I got pregnant.
Does your/will your nursery have a theme or color combination? Like a lot of people, we're doing a woodland theme. Colors will be orange, various blues, and gray.
Have you bought anything for baby yet? We just got the crib and changing table today, so I think we'll be putting that together tonight. I also have been buying outfits here and there, especially when we were in Germany over the summer. Little Dude has Bayern Munich soccer outfits that will take him through probably the first 18 months of his life!
If you have bought things, what is your favorite thing that you have gotten so far? I bought some paintings from some girl on Etsy for the nursery, if any of you have been looking on there for woodland themed stuff you've probably seen them - one features a bear, one a raccoon, and the other a fox. Super cute.
What is your favorite part of pregnancy so far? Probably seeing myself grow, and knowing that he's growing too. Feeling him has been fun, although when he tap dances on my bladder during my commute, that's not so much fun. Maybe my favorite part, though, was the first ultrasound. I cried. I couldn't believe he was actually in there, that it was real.
Do you have a favorite maternity/baby brand? I spent a ton of money at Motherhood over the past few months, but I think I've purchased more Jessica Simpson stuff from there than any other brand. Been pretty happy with that stuff.
One thing you will splurge on this pregnancy? I think trips has to be it. We really did it big this year, knowing that it will be awhile before we can travel again.
What are your top pregnancy related priorities? I dunno... I suppose eating properly, although I really haven't gone overboard as far as that goes. Before I got pregnant, I was kinda underweight, and I knew I wasn't eating enough calories every day, so when I found out I was pregnant, it was important to me to increase my meal size, even though that was so opposite from what I'd been doing for years. That was a hard mindset to get into. Now it's no problem! I'm hungry all the time, haha.
What is your favorite book? That's so tough. The best answer I can give is saying that my favorite author is Daniel Silva. I like pretty much everything he's ever written.
What is your favorite tv show? That's tough too! Here's a list: House of Cards, Dexter, The Wire, The Bachelor/Bachelorette (don't judge), Homeland, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
What is your favorite movie? Gotta do another list: Wayne's World, A Few Good Men, My Cousin Vinny, Sixteen Candles
What is your favorite band/singer? Smashing Pumpkins, Depeche Mode
Anything else you would like us to know? I'm addicted to chocolate/marzipan candy bars. Haha. I'm so glad I found this forum. It's been great sharing and learning about experiences from people that are going through the exact same thing as I am, especially since it's my first pregnancy.
Oh, and to add: the very first thing I bought for the baby was a Smashing Pumpkins onesie, but that's even after my friend gave me, immediately upon hearing that I was pregnant, a tiny little Smashing Pumpkins t-shirt that she had purchased like a year or so ago, just so she'd have it to give to me when it happened.
I'm just a little into them, I suppose.
The year that Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness came out, it was the ONLY thing on my Christmas list that I absolutely wanted. I was in 9th grade, and it was worth it. Some of my friends and I were obsessed with SP, and I always wanted '1979' to be the first song in my first car. Which, I don't think happened, but it was a fun thought!
We're also doing a woodland theme, although I have no idea when we're going to start working on the room. I think we may stay more with navy, but I have loved the pops of orange that have shown up when I've been searching for ideas... so probably a similar color scheme to you! I also am in love with arrows... so it may be a mixed woodland/adventure theme.

We haven't done too much to the room yet either - still have to move stuff out and paint. We did put the changing table together last night, crib is tonight. Definitely exciting to see something start to come together! I like the arrow stuff too, I think I put a couple items on our registry (sheets and something else) that had arrows.
Nice to meet you
