Did I mention insomnia? No? Ok, don't forget that insomnia. I keep waking up between 1 and 4 am for hours. Hours!! But every night at 8 or 9 I feel like I'm going to fall down if I don't get into bed. It's a vicious cycle.
Re: people asking how I'm doing There's one man at church that always asks how it's going, which is fine, and I say "I'm good" or "doing okay" or whatever. I don't ever go in to detail. Instead of being a normal person and being like, "oh good," he always had to add something to it - "I guess you're hanging in there" or "still alive, huh?" I want to be like "JUST HOW MISERABLE DO I LOOK" but I just complain to DH about it later.
As far as symptoms, still constipated and still have sciatic pain that makes me do a little dance sometimes. Seriously - I guess the nerve twitches and my leg shakes a little.

@beff12 - that guy at church cracks me up. I feel like if he said that to me I would be like "OMG you totally get me. Yes I'm hanging in there but barely and I don't even know how and I wish I could stop thinking about how to survive the week and just be ok in the moment but this takes forever and every day is hard!"
People keep asking me expecting me to be all glowy and upbeat and every time I'm like "bleeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhh" In real life I'm not a complainer. In pregnant life I'm a miserable whiny Debbie downer. But I am what I am. World, deal with me.

^ EXACTLY this! Pregnant me does nothing but complain, but thankfully (for DH) I can laugh at myself most of the time too. I can't wait to see how I behave in labor. Based on the past few weeks, I should be a real peach.
I was up from 4 to 6:30 this morning sitting on the toilet, waiting for something to happen. I have a form of IBD to begin with so I have always cycled between constipation and omgdiarrhea but this was horrible.
Other fun symptoms include: - Costochondritis, another fun symptom that I had before pregnancy that has gotten even more fun the past couple weeks - Arms and legs randomly going numb (from being on the computer or sitting too long, I guess?) - Acne, flaky/oily skin - Heartburn as always - Nausea
Overall though, I know it could be much worse. I just recently realized that about 50% of the time, I am able to brush my tongue without gagging. Small victories!!!
For the most part my symptoms are still very mild. Peeing a lot. Some cramping/RLP and minor pain in my lower back/right butt cheek. Incredible shrinking boobs (what is up with that?) and dreaded belly hair. Last week I had one I didn't know could happen with specifically because of pregnancy - a gall bladder attack! Apparently this is very common. Mine was actually not as bad as I think most are but it wasn't super fun. But overall I don't feel like I'm having too rough of a pregnancy and have been very lucky. I really feel for those of you things aren't going so smoothly for.
@slartybartfast his comments are kind of funny and I know it's coming from his experience - he and his wife have four kids! I'm just so used to the shallow conversations - "how are you feeling?" "Just fine!" "Great!" - especially from men that it always throws me haha!

I got it yesterday, after a long day of being on my feet and up and down on the floor cleaning all day. I cleaned my house in the am, then we had to deep clean our old rental. I could hardly walk last night. I did some ice, and it felt good while on it, but it continued when I got up. It was so uncomfortable to sleep too. It feels better right now, but I also haven't gotten out of bed yet.
@cgss11 I've had some sciatic issues that pregnancy has definitely made worse. It's especially bad at night. The only thing that really helps me is doing daily stretches, specifically this one:
Assume ^^ position and then I lean forward as far as I can and hold and kind of pulse into it. Then repeat until I feel like I've loosened it up a bit. It usually helps instantly to take the pressure off the nerve.
I've also heard that the cat/cow stretch can help re position the baby if it happens to be sitting on something causing the pressure.
So I've been experiencing a lot of chest pain that I thought was caused by wearing the wrong size bra. I had been wearing a 36DD. Went to go get sized, and I'm measuring at a 36F. And I can't find anywhere that sells this size in the store, so I have to order one, and I have my first day of school tomorrow. FML
Constipation, and hemis. So bad. Was super nauseous over the weekend, but I think it was a bug because dh and ds had it too. Also, my belly is so high my boobs sit on it and it's so uncomfortable I can't breathe or eat much at a given time because I get so full after a few bites. OB said it'll be at least 12 weeks until my belly drops. Thanks, dude.
My nipples are so sore right now and they have this clear, sticky liquid coming out of them in very small droplets. It's too early for colostrum, yes? And that's yellow anyway, right? What is this, pre-colostrum?

This just happened to me! I was cleaning all day and an hour before I went to bed my sciatica started tweaking out. Now I can't sleep

Ah! That sucks, and I feel your pain. I'm a 34DD and apparently that's not a common thing? What, little people don't have big boobs? I can't find bras anywhere, they're all 36 or 38 and they're too loose on me.

I had the same thing for a couple days last week. The pain is unreal!
This thread is making me feel better. Funny how human nature is to feel better knowing that someone else is going through similar suffering as you.
-Constipation is starting to really kick in and it directly affects my mood. For those of you who have/had it, what remedies have worked for you? I take Metamucil every morning, flax seed, high fiber diet & a digestive advantage constipation formula. I'm not really sure what else to do other than trying harder on my diet. I did read about putting a tablespoon of honey and some apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water. I'm going to try that tonight.
-Speaking of moods - I am crabby as ever! I'm not much of a complainer in real nor pregnancy world and have thankfully felt pretty darn good this whole time so far. However, DH says he has a high pain tolerance, but complains about something hurting in his body literally every day. If it's not a migraine, it's his kidney, back, side etc. I need to be more patient and empathetic - but I'm not at all recently. The little kid in me just wants to yell "I'm the one who's carrying an extra person!!"
-Bloating vs weight gain question is totally legitimate. Some days I feel so heavy (likely due to constipation) and others all of the sudden I feel like someone poked me with a needle to let some air out.
-YES on people asking how you're doing very often. If they truly care, I'm happy to answer honestly. However, many people who ask (the repeat offenders) are just asking to ask.. to make conversation. Just don't.
-For the fellow swellers out there - I've been drinking a TON of water every day.. like at least 5 liters. This has helped tremendously with my swelling. Drinking that much water definitely helps me to not drink any other unnecessary sugary crap. Also, I've been wearing compression socks every day to work which is also helping. I've been swelling since about week 15, so it's definitely an effort.
I have been getting lightheaded again. In first tri, it usually meant I had to eat something. I feel like I got a good eating/hydration regimen down, where this wasn't happening anymore (for months!), and now in the past 1-2 weeks it has started again. It seems to be mostly in the mornings, but I already eat yogurt and cereal for breakfast, Idk how many more calories I can take that early in the day.
@yellingbanana and @ashleaf2018 hotmilk bras are awesome. I am a 31-32 band size and an F or G cup and Hotmilk has awesome bras. You can buy them on Amazon so if you have prime then you can get them in two days

@sourlemon - when I felt dizzy this morning it was 92/59, pulse 88. Seems low but that number is pretty typical for me. I've had low BP all my life. My OB hasn't said anything about it, but I see her next Tuesday so I guess I could ask her.
@temmetime I saw this as a suggestion from a wonderful woman on this board, but can't recall who.. (you'll know who you are!!) but a liquid magnesium supplement helps with constipation TREMENDOUSLY!!!! I had constipation so so so bad, and this has worked the easiest and best for me

I'm just trying to think of reasons it would just be in the morning. Occasionally I get lightheaded until I eat or drink some powerade zero but usually if it's right when I wake up or that hour, it's my blood pressure causing it. Wouldn't hurt to check with your dr next time you go in.
Those of you taking liquid magnesium, make sure you let your OB know. It's a soft tissue relaxant, so it doesn't ONLY affect the bowels. It affects the heart, the brain and just about every organ. Likely the dosage isn't high enough to create any residual effects, but I'd still tell your doc just to be sure.
@sourlemon, have you considered switching out your cereal for something more substantial? Most cereals are so carb heavy that, for me at least, they pretty much just spike my blood sugar and then lead to a crash. Maybe if your breakfast was more protein-heavy? Just a thought.

Yeah I agree. I feel like I've almost passed out more often than the average person (so maybe there's a fine line where it's easily triggered to drop too low. Especially in this heat.
I feel like I have an ongoing symptoms list ready to go at any given moment....
-nonstop hunger -insomnia... I HATE YOU -rlp on my right side under my ribs....which i feel like is strange place but everything is expanding i guess -sooooooooo much discharge and with the summer heat its the absolute worst. -the skin around my nipples is changing colors... it looks like my nipples are traveling outside their designated color zone and into the rest of my breast tissue. -this one has been new... alot of pressure when I move in a certain position because the LO is there...so for instance if she is on my right side and I turn all I feel is tons of pressure where she is...like were both getting squished... anyone else know what I'm talking about??

I typically only get lightheaded in the mornings before eating breakfast. I don't eat for an hour and a half (when I get to work). It doesn't happen to me often. Plus, I love my pop tarts and lucky charms! But that's just been the past 2 weeks...usually I eat way healthier for breakfast.
@sourlemon When is the last time you eat before you go to bed usually? I have to eat every 2-4 hours or my MS gets worse, and that's even during the middle of the night. So I usually go to bed at midnight and will have to set an alarm for 3-4 am to eat some crackers and drink some juice. It could be that going so long without eating is what's making you not feel well in the morning.
Ah yes, if I don't eat within 30 mins to an 1 hour of getting up I feel awful - the only time I feel nauseous, really. It's a bit tough because I take thyroid medication in the morning and I'm not supposed to eat for an hour afterwards, but my doc said to just do my best. Even if you just have a few bites of something soon after you wake up, that might help!
@ashleaf2018 we typically eat dinner about 5 and I go to bed at 8. I wake up at 430 or 5 for work. Eat at 630. I'm not concerned about my occasional light headedness...I was just trying to help @penelope4612. My body is pretty used to my schedule.
So I've been wondering where this pregnancy acne is that everyone talks about. Before you get jealous, it finally happened to me...on my butt. Joy.
Hahaha!
Mine totally comes and goes, it's weird. It was really bad at first, then cleared up, then got bad... I looked at myself in the mirror today and was stoked, my face looked great! And then this afternoon I noticed a huge pimple on my neck. Great.
@sourlemon Lol I know I tagged you, I don't know if I meant to though. I just meant to offer some advice to anybody feeling sick in the mornings. I'm not much of a morning person anyway, maybe that's what's making me sick?
@ashleaf2018 I wish I didn't have to be a morning person! I work 630-300 and have for the last 8 years. Now sleeping in on the weekends means sleeping until 515 and having coffee in bed. I don't remember the last time I slept past 6. I'm so jealous of people who get to sleep in and can physically do it!
Yeah so I laid down tonight for bed and my previously sleeping baby decided to shift or something onto some kind of wicked painful nerve right as I was reaching over to snuggle my husband. It was like something shot me in the hip. I cannot lay down right now without pain radiating all over my left butt cheek and down my leg. Nice. Did some pacing around the bed, decided to go sit for awhile since he's still wiggling in there and hope he finds a new spot. I'll try again for bed later.
@gowenc Probably so. I eventually got to bed and it was only tender at that point, I woke up in the middle of the night to pee, as always, and it was painful to move my leg. Once I took a deep breath and moved it anyway though, it stopped hurting like that. Today it's just sore on that side like a pulled muscle. My chiropractor is in GA even though I don't live there anymore. I have back to back baby showers over there coming up in October, though. Between stuff like this and my daily neck pain, it probably time to see if he can fit me in. Definitely not one of my favorite pregnancy symptoms.
@caseyewhitaker Hopefully the chiro can help! I haven't had sciatic issues (yet) but I've got pain in my sacroillial joints resulting from a pre-pregnancy condition that's now getting worse as I get bigger. I'll be looking into chiropractors here to see if that helps. Really hoping it does - it makes it hard to sleep on my side!
Does anyone's tailbone hurt? I mean, like OUCH. I have a history of back injury, so I go to the chiropractor and get massages done regularly, but this is getting on my nerves. Have you ever bruised your tailbone? It's like that, except it can have sharp pain too. I'm going to talk to my doctor about it next week, but trying to adjust how I'm sitting, sleeping, etc does not seem to help...
