I am starting to move this weekend (hottest weekend of the year so far!) so I need to live vicariously through someone.  What is everyone else up to??

  • @KirstinH88 We're looking at midsize SUVs. Today was Jeep Grand Cherokee, Nissan Murano, Nissan Pathfinder, and Toyota Highlander. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is currently the top favorite by a landslide. Next time we go were looking at Honda Pilots. And then we're going to look at some smaller SUVs since they're substantially cheaper and see if we're interested in those. I have been thinking I wanted something bigger but since the price difference is so huge it might be worth it to reconsider. We're planning to buy at the end of August!

  • @aliciagoose I've had a Cherokee (but waaaaay older) and loved it. I currently have a highlander. It's older now, and I don't really like the style of the newer models. My SIL has a Murano and really likes it as well. We will be looking at SUVs with a 3rd row. And I don't want a van. Just not really my style. My top pick is the Toyota 4Runner. But the newer Highlander (cheaper, safer option) would be my second option I guess. Let me know how you like the Pilot. I've eyed that one too, but DH would rather stay with a Toyota for some reason.

@AliciaGoose DH and I needed a new car a couple of years ago and we eyeballed the new Jeep Cherokee as well. We ended up getting a 2015 Mazda CX-5 instead (Jeep was outside the range of what we wanted to pay) and it's been awesome! It has loads of room and runs so puuurty.

Edit: Cuz me gramur so goodz
  • @KirstinH88 Yeah we really liked the way the Highlander drove but weren't crazy about the other features it offered for the price. I'll keep you updated on the search!

@Sirius37 That's actually one I had on the list to look at but I wasn't sure if we were going to actually check it out or not! You're the first person I've heard who has one. I'm glad to know you like it and it's roomy. I think I'll bump that one up a bit and check it out.

  • @AliciaGoose If you are in the market for a midsize SUV, I recommend the GMC Terrain.  I loooooove mine!
  • @beary67 You had me at stuffed breadsticks...
We are wine tasting today, woot! Tomorrow, after Mass, we are taking my littlest dog over to a nursing home to let the residents play with him and I'm a little too excited about it.

  • My weekend started out so well...

I had a BBQ last night that was okay, I didn't really know anyone because it was a work friend of DH but whatever. Then this morning we went out for coffee at our favorite coffee shop, we got BOGO Qdoba with my birthday coupon for lunch and then we went grocery shopping and were home by 2:30. I was hoping to get a lot done around the house but.... Our AC went out.  Luckily its not nearly as hot today as it was last weekend.

This is our 4th summer in this house and something has gone wrong with out AC every year for the last 4 years. It is very frustrating. We've called the AC repairman who we used last year and left a message but they haven't got back to us yet. Their website says 24/7 service, so here's hoping.

  • @KirstinH88  WHAT IS THAT DRINK?!  I need that in my life.
  • @ clover28 My first round of it was just pineapple juice with chamoy and tajin (Mexican spicy things). But in the second round I added a little bit of rum.

Also, for anyone who likes a little spicy kick. Buy tajin. It's a seasoning type thing. Put it on all the fruits. So delicious!
