Rants/Races/Randoms? Looking forward to our appointment this week. We see the heartbeat on Thursday and then we will tell our family. :)

Questions? Am I the only one dying for sushi or a turkey and cheese sandwich from the deli???  Lol!

GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school? Why? I liked most of them - but I guess I'd say math since I teach it now. :)

Rants/Races/Randoms? We have only told our parents so far, also our pastor and a handful of very close friends that we trust. By no means have we been ready to make a general announcement. DH and I went to a funeral on Monday and everyone there knew. It actually took me off guard when people were congratulating us because I was like, what are they talking about?? So we won't be telling MIL anything else about this pregnancy before big announcements, like the sex of the baby or any names we're thinking of. We don't want it broadcasted, grrr.
Questions? What's our August siggy challenge? Are we having a vote? I'm not good at initiating these things.
GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school? Why? I always liked math and science because I like figuring things out, like puzzles and logic and such. I am a bit of a grammar Nazi though, so English too? Just anything but gym. I was also a band nerd and play the piano so music too. I loved school, what the hell....

We're seeing some close friends tomorrow. We haven't told anyone yet, but we're thinking about telling them. I really want to tell them in person and we might not see them again for a while. So exciting.

I also have the "nurses appt" at my obgyn clinic on Monday.

    Questions?
    None today

GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school? Why?
Math. I'm a nerdy engineer and appreciate concrete solutions and logic.

    Questions? none
GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school? Why? Music/Choir/Band and English.  Liked music because the large group settings were not a normal classroom setting and I got to socialize with my friends.  We also travelled a lot of places with band so I really liked that.  I liked it enough to study Music Ed in college and teach for 5 years before I started being a SAHM.  I loved English because I really enjoyed reading and writing and still do.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? My husband had an all night softball tourney last night so I took DS to Chucky cheese so DH could nap before. Then DH got home at 8:30 am and I took DS out and about for 5 hrs to the mall/McDonald's/library so DH could sleep. I am exhausted and I come home and DH did not use that 5 hrs to sleep so he is sleeping now! Ughhhhhh

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I seriously cannot remember the massive list of no's for pregnancy.... and I feel like all the info is different depending on where you look. I had lunch with a friend today who has a 2 month old, and she tried to rub it in my face that she was going to eat blue cheese  and I couldn't (I looooooove blue cheese). I googled it, and the sources I found said it was good to go as long as the milk was pasteurized, but she said what she had read was about the mold not being good..... but I ate the damn cheese anyways. How is one supposed to keep this all straight?!
Questions? See above, how do you remember what foods you are supposed to avoid, when the list is constantly changing. Even sushi is now said to be ok if it's from a reputable joint, but steak is supposed to be cooked well done?! It's madness.

    Questions? None.

GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school? Why? When I was in undergrad, I took a class on The Holocaust and it was one of the most interesting classes I've ever taken. It's something that stuck with me even to this day and I graduated 13 years ago. We watched the movie, Life Is Beautiful, and holy Jesus was I a bucket of tears.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I'm really sad to be experiencing spotting. It's been fairly non threatening but of all the symptoms we can experience, it's the scariest IMO. I didn't get to enjoy the fact that I changed weeks today at all.

    Questions? Nope!

Rants/Raves/Randoms? In-laws moved to the area this weekend (~45 minute drive) and the fatigue is intense this week.  This is getting hard to hide. We're planning on telling them the 6th of August, as my US appointment is the 3rd.  Gonna have to come up with excuses to be MIA for a while....

Questions?  we will be telling in-laws 2 weeks before my parents (because thry require a plane ride).  How do I ensure MIL keeps her mouth shut? :)

GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school? Why? science and art... Which followed me into my adult life.  I work in plant sciences and have monthly craft days with my girlfriends.

Um, why does your doctor need to know? For serious, my midwife hands me the list of things I am not supposed to eat and I nod and mumble something about Listeria. Then I make my choices.
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • @MTB16 - if you check out the symptoms tread, youll see that spotting is terrifying but normal. If you are ever worried, just call your doctors office! As a general rule brown and pink are ok--bright red is more worrisome, especially if you can fill a pad.

@007monica The danger with lunch meat is listeria...Honestly I just eat it. However microwaving it should kill any bacteria, so if you go to subway or Stonehenge just ask them to nuke the meat

@lindsey61811 It could be worse. You could do what we did....settle and move into a new house two weeks before the baby was born!! I'm also experiencing totally different symptoms.

RRR: We told our parents this weekend. My grandmother is not excited, lol. I think she would prefer all her female grandkids have no children...she did not enjoy being a mom very much and has a hard time understanding why I'm excited to have a two year old and a newborn. (She has four kids.) Our parents are pretty happy. Its weird how Mick Ltd excited everyone send to bee about baby #2.

    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
although I'm trying not to be too hard on myself, I'm getting super frustrated at my lack of energy. I really wanted to try to be in the gym this last week, but between the nausea and exhaustion that's not really been happening. Hoping it'll be easier in the 2nd trimester. Also, going on a short weekend trip next weekend, can't wait!!!

    Questions?
none that I can think of so far

GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school? Why?
My fav subject in school was probably history and music. For one, I played the piano all throughout my education, and I've always been a huge music nerd. But I also love history because I find it so interesting to see how all sorts of different events are connected to each other and how it shapes different cultures.

Yes, having multiple symptoms. Peeing excessively and getting up at night to pee, crazy dreams, boob/nip sensitivity and heaviness, bloated, and exhaustion. I'm thankful for all of it bc it's helping me freak out slightly less.

I saw your post from earlier just now - I'm praying for you! Hopefully it's just a blip on the radar of an otherwise very healthy pregnancy!

    Weeks/Size? 5 weeks, Appleseed!
    EDD? 3/26
Rants/Raves/Randoms? I've been feeling pretty good--a little sick to my stomach some mornings, but not too bad! :)
Questions? I had my first u/s on Thursday, I was 4+4, but the sac was measuring 5+2, but you couldn't see anything else. The tech said that was normal, but I'm seeing lots of other u/s pics where you can see a baby. I'm sure it's ok, but has anybody else experienced that?
GTKY: What was your favorite subject in school? Why? AP Calculus and AP Physics, because I'm an engineer and just loved that stuff. I also enjoyed band, because I'm an all around nerd--but I did play the snare drum, so not too bad! lol

  • @kami6887 - Your tech is right, totally normal. Will you get another ultrasound around 8-12 weeks for the hb? (Dont worry if you're not, done women get none until the anatomy scan, just curious)

I'm not sure if I get another one before ~20 weeks or not. With my son, my first u/s was at 19 weeks (their office's protocol for normal pregnancy), and the only reason I got this one was bc I miscarried a few months ago. But now that everything is looking good, I'm not sure if they put me back on the normal schedule, or if I get another u/s. I hope I get at least one more before 20 weeks, but if not, then at least I know everything is going smoothly! They usually listen for the HB with a doppler starting around 12 weeks, as well.
