Why doesn't he think it's a good idea?
  • I breasfed both my first kids until they were about 8 months and then switched to formula because it was very tough to pump at work for so long. Formula is EXPENSIVE. One small container of Enfamil was $17 and lasted me 3 days. I now buy it in bulk from castco. I spend about $75 a month now for my 9 month old baby. But besides all that, breastfeeding has really been a great and connecting experience. Sometimes it'll be the only way you can comfort your baby. It's so much more than nutrition. I still breastfeed at night to put LO to sleep.
  • Read and research about it. Show your boyfriend the facts. I'm not sure I understand why he doesn't think it's a good idea. If it's something you choose to do, that should be enough.
  • If this is something that you are really wanting to do, you might ask your doctor's office or hospital you are delivering at to talk to a lactation specialist. They might be willing to discuss this with you and your SO and answer any questions or concerns either one of you might have.

I'm a huge breastfeeding advocate. With that said, I understand there are some valid reasons some women can't. I can't imagine why he would be against it.....?

  • I found La Leche League and Kelly Mom to be great resources for all my breastfeeding questions.  Hope you find the answers you're looking for!

  • Where's op?
  • This is the only thing she's ever posted so I'm not sure if she's coming back @ThePax89...

That being said, if you do come back OP, everyone has given great advice and resources for breastfeeding.
