Pre-Induction Diet

I'm being induced to morrow morning at 7am at 41+3. Does anyone any recommendations on what to eat and/or not eat the day before? I believe we are starting withe Cervidil at 7am followed by pitocin at noon. Thanks for any suggestions!

Definitely call your doctor. Personally, I would eat light. Depending on how it goes, labor could be long and/or everything you eat you might see again. Light soup, bread/bagels, grilled chicken...I had a bland diet during my (long) labor and had plenty of energy but never got full or sick.

    Good luck!!!!!!

  • I was induced at  7 pm and my doctor told me to eat a well balanced meal right before since I wouldn't be able to eat for quite a while afterwards. Felt a little nauseous after pain meds but otherwise I was ok and didn't get hungry till 9 the next night .

  • Thanks! We are actually heading in now for a 7pm induction instead. They had a spot open up and I figured it might help it go a little quicker if we're there overnight instead.
