Pregnant after a Loss

Pregnancy after very early loss

hi ladies,
I am currently experiencing a very early loss (four weeks) and have not been back to my midwife yet. I just wanted to hear from experience what happens afterward. I know everyone is different, but has anyone here conceived successfully quickly after a very early miscarriage? I got pregnant on the first try this past time.
thanks in advance!

Re: Pregnancy after very early loss

  • I've had 3 losses and have two boys (3&4) and am being induced for my 3rd tomorrow. After my first loss it took 9 months to conceive again but I wasn't ovulating and it was a mess. When I did get pregnant the 2nd time I lost the baby at about 12 weeks and had a d&c. I got pregnant about 2 weeks after that procedure with my first rainbow so that was definitely fast. Then I got pregnant on first try with my second rainbow about 9 months after I had my first. I then lost another this past July. The miscarriage was horrible and lasted about 6 weeks. I waited a cycle and then got pregnant with this little one the following. So I'm kind of all over the map. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you it doesn't take long for you to have your rainbow!

  • I got pregnant on my second cycle off of birth control - had a miscarriage between 6-7 weeks - started trying again right away. It took awhile for my hormones to settle but I ovulated every cycle. I got pregnant on my 5th cycle and am now just over 5 weeks.

  • I got pregnant right away after my loss, but we were doing fertility treatments. Sorry for your loss
  • I had a loss at 5 weeks and became pregnant again the very next cycle. Everyone is different - it may take time for your body to regulate and heal or it might be ready to ovulate again.

So sorry for your loss. Everyone is different. I got pregnant my first try and miscarried at 8 weeks. I was pregnant again (also first and only try) the next cycle and am now 36 weeks. There's hope but try not to compare yourself and your body to our stories too much. FX!
  • Sorry for your loss.  There is hope though, even though it might not seem like it.  I had a loss last month at 5 weeks after trying for 8 months.  I ovulated 2 weeks after that and am pregnant again.

  • There is definitely hope! I am so sorry you're going through this. I lost my first pregnancy early, at barely 6 weeks, I got my period a little over 4 weeks later and we got pregnant that same cycle. I am now 29 weeks with our rainbow. Stay hopeful!

  • My first pregnancy was a 32w2d preemie who is doing wonderfully now. I got pregnant less than a year later and loat the baby around 7 or 8 weeks. After my loss, my ob advised me to wait at least one full cycle before trying again. I got pregnant on my 3rd cycle but wished that we waited. I took me until about my 4th month of pregnancy to relaxed and happy about the pregnancy.  I was scared that I'd have another preterm birth or miscarriage.  So while my body healed quickly it took a little longer for my heart and mind to catch up. I don't say this to be a debbie downer, more as a caution that although your body may be ready you also need to listen to your heart. Only you know when you'll be ready. My rainbow baby is six months old now and I couldn't be happier!

I'm so sorry that you are going through this and hope that you find healing and peace and get to hold your rainbow baby soon.
