Baby head engagement

For those whose babies heads have engaged, was this a process you could feel happening?

Re: Baby head engagement

  • Supposedly you feel more pelvic pressure once they're engaged and you can breathe a bit easier since they're moving down but that's all I've got.
  • Loading the player...
  • The head is engaged over here (love the Picard reference!!)

has been confirmed by my midwife manually

the slope of the top of my bump has changed, it's flatter and feels empty to the touch. Like a diagonal wall, no roundness from baby.

I eat more!!! No more having food and a drink and having to sit upright for hours so I don't puke it in my mouth.

i can also feel pressure in my pelvis and it growing and changing as I walk etc.

its definitely different - were 37 and 3.

Ditto! And I'm getting sharp lightening pain down my groin at times due to the pressure on the nerves. It's freaking sweet...

My pelvis hurts so bad all the time. It seriously feel bruised every time I move. I could also tell by were her butt was that she had definitely dropped. I went to the OB at 36 weeks and she confirmed that she was engaged. I was feeling pretty good till she dropped , then I just felt a lot of pain down there.

  • My baby flipped properly a few weeks ago, but the last few days (I'm 39w6d today!) I have felt him or her wiggling right down in my crotch. It is a distinctly different feeling. I felt it for a while at my "bikini line", now it's BELOW that. Like I swear I can feel little hands pushing against my actual pelvis bone, or right where my pubic bone is. Is this possible? Baby has been headbutting my bladder for weeks, but I never felt wiggles like this down there before, I don't think.
Not sure if I'm dilated at all yet. I'll find out at my 40w visit Wednesday.
  • I, too, have been feeling this low sensation, but more like she's pushing on my actual cervix.  Some other ladies said they can feel themselves dilating and I don't know if this is what I'm feeling but it's so uncomfortable!
