Anyone have any plans/gift ideas for their SO's first Father's Day? I want to do something special for my hubby but I'm completely stumped. He's a minimalist and doesn't really want anything so I was trying to think of a fun experience but kind of stumped about that too.
My DH, my brother and my brother in law are all first time fathers this year (lots of babies in my family!). We are having a family brunch for all of them. My DH is a minimalist and we don't do gifts for each other so Mothers and Father's Day will be celebrated the same way we do our birthdays, Christmas and anniversary, by expressing our love and gratitude through kind action and words.
My DH is so beyond excited about having a son and can't wait for all of the father-son activities they'll do together. He loves camping, so we got him a tent!
I think even going out for a nice lunch as a family works, just spending time together is probably all he wants!
I let DD1 finger paint on canvas with him, just wrapped up the supplies for him to open. It was an activity for them to do together and a keepsake for him. Each year I take pictures of the kids holding the letters in dad for a frame in his office.
I'm getting him new slippers he wants and I usually get him some sort of cheesy Dad gift. Father's Day is on my bday this year so we will probably have dinner at my parent's to celebrate both.
Im going to make something on shutterfly using pics of DH and LO, and he can put it on his desk at work. A collage of pics and frame it or maybe a picture magnet he can put on his filing cabinet. I better get started so it'll be here in time!

This was my exact idea also. I'm doing a photo collage in a frame of all of LO and DH's photos together and probably add a huge basket of DH'S favorite candy. I have 2 cards to attach to the basket (one from me and one from baby.) Sweet and simple.
I wanna make this and thinking about getting picnic supplies so we can have a nice day at a park on the water! Also got one of those coffee cups that show a pic of DH and LO when it heats up
We're going out to lunch with my parents and I made a photobook for my dad on shutterfly (there's a half-off sale for fathers' day). Since we're moving July 15 there's a ban on new stuff in our house, so I'm holding off on getting my husband anything.
I got my husband a watch for work, he always says how he needs a dressier watch. I had it engraved on the back with a little note from our son. Got it from fossil and they did the engraving for free.
DH pretty much excepts a game anytime he gets a gift haha..although right now he just bought himself Overwatch and has been spending so much time on it xD
Dh might actually be home for it this year. We weren't expecting him home anytime soon so I hadn't really planned anything. I suggested we go camping, fishing, and hiking. But, he sleeps away from home 99% of the time, I'm sure he'd rather sleep in his own bed. I really think we'll just end up staying home and doing as much housework that we can before he leaves again.
DH needs a new wallet so I'm getting that & I found a place on etsy that laser engraves photos onto steel plates to fit into a wallet. I'm having one made with LO newborn photo and a note on the back.
