Monday Check In

How far along are you? 38 weeks 6 days

Rants/Raves/Symptoms:Just movement, gradually more uncomfortable every night and walking kills me as does just sitting.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? Packing bags for myself, hubby, and baby, we got our carseat installed, now just trying to finish straightening everything up.

Questions? I'm a FTM so odds are he's gonna be late. We thought there were signs of him coming soon but it was a fluke. No real signs of impending labor, this baby is too comfy. Any FTM go early naturally without induction? I'm just curious what the statistics are for some

Are you waiting as long as you can? Getting induced? C-section? Just curious!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rant-I think I overdid it a bit this weekend. Two days of baby class, followed by other social events and my feet are killing me. Rave- We're almost done with baby classes and it's my last week at work. Symptoms-swelling, headaches, acne, tiredness/not sleeping well, groin pain.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? Baby Care Basics class tonight and then we're done with classes!

    Questions?

Are you waiting as long as you can? Getting induced? C-section? Just curious!: My goal is to keep her in at least until her due date, although right now that is starting to seem like a monumental feat. We just have so much that we need to do between now and then (mainly sell our house). I want to go unmedicated for as long as I can, but I'm not opposed to an epidural if I feel like I need one. That will be a game day decision.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Noticing much more pressure and those movements are getting strong as he is running out of space!

What are you doing to prepare for baby? I was making everyone very nervous this weekend because I washed all of the clothes and put everything away (I had my baby shower Wednesday) and insisted my husband get down the carseats and our infant rocker and we could get everything ready.  Did some shopping for last minute stuff Saturday and washed bottles and pump parts.  Definitely feeling the nesting, but I've wanted to get ready for a while now and hadn't been able to.  We weren't ready AT ALL last time, and this time I insisted that everything be completely ready by the end of May.  (due June 28, but had my son at 34 weeks)

I went very early with my son as a FTM.  The whole pregnancy I kept saying we needed to be ready because he could come early and everyone laughed at me.  However, I work in a place where we seem to have a lot of babies born and most of the FTMs seem to go naturally without being induced between 39 weeks and a few days past their due date.  The people who were induced were scheduled for medical reasons like gestational diabetes.  I can say that the transition between feeling pretty miserable and like nothing is happening seems happen pretty quickly for a lot of women I know, so just because you're not feeling anything today doesn't mean you won't be two days from now!

This time, I am on shots to stop preterm labor and my last day of school is the day I am 38 weeks, so I am praying I can just make it until then.

    How far along: 38 weeks

Rant/ Raves/ Symptoms: longest pregnancy ever!!!! Seriously kid, feel free to come out at any time. I'm happy because it is not supposed to get over 75 degrees here today : ).  I think my worst symptom is the pounding headache (bp is normal and no swelling) and the horrible bloody rash that is my stomach.

What are you doing to prepare for baby?  Hubby still needs to do the crib and car seat. At least that is super simple and we have a pack and play. I was way more concerned about having everything set up last pregnancy.

GTKY: I don't know if I will make it to my due date or not but if I go past I will be foley bulb induced before 41 weeks as I am a VBAC.

ETA: I forgot to answer the question. I delivered my twins as a FTM at 33 weeks by a emergency c for medical reasons (failed placenta) but the Dr's were saying I probably would have gone into labor on my own in the next couple of days had they not had to come out. I had lots of PTL in that pregnancy.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Al lot of Movement by baby,  more uncomfortable especially during the night  and walking at work sometimes I get this pain. I think they call it the lightning "something". It hurts a lot,  I even have to stop if im walking because the pain is horrible.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? I have to pack my bag, my husband, my daughters and baby boy, have to install the carseat, and finish the nursery.

Questions? -Any FTM go early naturally without induction? I'm just curious what the statistics are for some

Are you waiting as long as you can? Getting induced?

Well this is my second time. My first time I just waited for as along as the baby wanted, no induction. The mocus plug came out at 39 weeks on a tuesday night and by the other day, Wednesday I was having contractions. I stayed at home until the contractions were more together. At 4:30pm I went to the hospital and by 7:15 pm I had my daughter. Natural birth with no epidural. So for me it was a great experience. I hope this time around is the same. My last day at work is June 9th i cant wait for that day to come, im feeling really tired.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Lots of movement. And my feet, legs, and hands have started swelling. I'm trying to drink tons of water and keep my feet propped up as much as possible.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? I made a few more freezer meals over the weekend, and we have our final birth class this week. Other than that, just re-reading some of our baby books and waiting for his arrival!

Are you waiting as long as you can? Getting induced? C-section? Just curious! I'm planning to wait it out for as long as he takes (up to 42 weeks). I've been assuming all along that he would be late, so I don't fee too impatient yet. But I can definitely tell that the anticipation and anxiety are going to build up and start driving me crazy soon.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Got my TDAP over the weekend so I haven't been able to move my arm for 2 days without excrutiating pain.  (Last time I got it in my leg and could barely walk for 2-3 days, so this is definitely better.)  Overdid it over the weekend (walking around a hilly zoo, occasionally carrying a toddler), so I'm pretty sore today.  BUT my toddler slept wonderfully all weekend (until 7:30am both days, which is unheard of for him) so I'm feeling slightly rested.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? DH's BFF is upstairs as I type this painting the tree mural on the wall that I've been dying for (based on a Pinterest picture).  Then I can put out all the accessories, make up the crib, etc.  Other than that, crossing little things off my list.  Made a list of things I want to pack in the bag, which is a first step.  Did mountains of laundry, so all the baby clothes are clean and ready to go.  Made up our summer baby and vacation schedule with the nanny so I can make sure she's getting enough hours.  Organized our address list so we're ready to order and send out birth announcements.  Found a place to rent a carpet cleaner so I can clean the rug in the nursery (reusing from DS' nursery since it's plain gray, just want to freshen it up a bit).  Etc, etc, etc.

Are you waiting as long as you can? Getting induced? C-section? Just curious! I am GBS+ and had a super quick labor last time (didn't have time to finish the first round of meds), so all I know is I have to rush to the hospital at the first signs of labor to start getting my antibiotics. (OK, not that soon, but either as soon as my water breaks, or when contractions get regular.)  I would like to avoid a c-section if possible but would not be devastated if it comes to that.  Dr has not said anything to me about induction, but I think it's still a bit early to bring that up (last time we didn't talk induction until 39 weeks). I really don't want to go late, though.  I've been pretty uncomfortable for the last 20 weeks and I'm ready for her to get out of me.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms:Heartburn, swollen legs and feet, BP steadily rising every dr. appt.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? Finally starting the nursery now that we have been in the new house 2 weeks. Got a rug and waiting on the crib and dresser to be delivered from RH. Daybed for his room comes Friday. Finishing up my registry purchases. Oh and potty training our 12 week old puppy so she is more self sufficient for when he gets here since we have a dog door!

Questions? Not really. I am super anxious about the actual birth so I've been reading tons and asking Dr. a million questions (I've been going in every 2 weeks since I was 20 weeks). I know every pregnancy/woman is different but I feel pretty educated and comfortable making decisions should I need to and hubby knows my wishes as well, which is important should I not be able to speak for myself.

Are you waiting as long as you can? Getting induced? C-section?  I hope he stays put for a few more weeks at least but if he comes early, then all the better because I dont want to go past my EDD. I am likely going to opt for an induction late in my 39th week if things look favorable and he isn't here. Id be ok with a c-section too if needed.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms:What are you doing to prepare for baby?  Heartburn and sciatic pain so bad I can barely walk. I had to go to L&D today because I thought it was leaking amniotic fluid so i called and they told me to come in. They checked and that wasn't the case but I am one CM dilated and my midwife said I'm unlikely to go to my due date.

What are you doing to prepare for baby? I am finished packing my hospital bag this morning and just have last minute things to throw in like phone chargers etc. I installed the car seat and am getting it checked on Wednesday. I also ordered red raspberry leaf tea from amazon to start drinking.

Are you waiting as long as you can? Getting induced? C-section?  I am hoping she at least stays in there until my hubby gets home from training which is supposed to be Friday.
