My weight gain till this point has been good (12 pounds to date), however I am starving and not making great choices. I am hoping it wont continue and I can start to eat normal again.
Other wise, I am going great. This is my heaviest weight while pregnant, yet my easiest pregnancy. My OB/CNM/MFM are all pleased with how everything is going.
I'm there or close to depending on what sizing you follow so I'll play. I have gained 17lbs at 33 weeks which is right where I should be based on calculators. BUT I gained a bunch the last couple weeks (like 5lbs!) and freaked out thinking I would get lectured. My doc isn't at all concerned and is pleased with my health. For what its worth, while I know I am heavy I actually have always had great "numbers" as far as lab work like cholesterol, blood pressure, etc. and stay pretty active which helps. I do hope somehow baby will kick my butt into losing some weight afterwards.
Technically I'm only up 2 lbs from prepregnancy however I lost about 12 during first tri from ms and have gained that back now so I'm at around 14-15 lbs. my dr is happy I am below where I should be based off of prepregnancy but baby is measuring fine and so much is due to being so sick early on as well as making lifestyle changes.
Making healthy food choices is definitely hard though especially since I've hit third tri and just feel like I'm starving and it's been hard to stay active with so much pelvic bone and hip pain but I am trying
I am at 20 pounds up, I hung out at 15 pounds since week 12 but then just went up 5 pounds. My old ob was a dick about it but my new one is ok. She knows I know I shouldn't gain much more but it is pretty hard not to gain weight at this point. I am not worrying about it. I gained 40 with Murph, I hope to not gain that much.
Things have been good, mostly due to weight loss in the first tri. However, I'm still at 4 weeks appointments so I'll be interested to see what I gained from last time (28 weeks) to next time (32 weeks) in 2 weeks. Baby has been measuring right on the whole time which is the best news.
im starting to get a little nervous about labor and delivery since my physical endurance isn't great. Now doesn't seem like the time to address that. It is what it is and he's coming out one way or another!
Thanks to morning sickness during my first trimester, I am still under my prepregnancy weight. Since the first trimester, weight gain has been slow and steady which my midwife is happy about and baby boy is growing normally (he weighs 4 pounds at 33 weeks). Now in third trimester I am stuck at that awkward stage where I eat two bites of food and I am full for hours. While I am not trying to lose weight now, I hope once my little guy arrives it will motivate me to lose weight and get healthier.
Dr has been pretty happy at my weight gain, but I recently lost ~5lbs due to changing my diet b/c of a GD diagnosis. She wasn't too concerned. I feel a little guilty about the GD because I know being plus sized put me at a higher risk for developing it, but I can't go back and change it now. I had high bp at the end of my last pregnancy and I'm worried about developing it again on top of the GD. So far everything looks good, so I'm trying not to dwell on the 'what ifs'.
This thread inspired me to get my butt in gear and I went to water aerobics had terrible acid reflux but I feel great now so I'm glad I went we will see how much I feel like dying once the adrenaline is gone.
Question though so I'm terrible at kegels and feel like I like leak pee or have to go pee all the time, I'm worried since I don't have a super strong core if labor will also be more difficult. Any thoughts or advice ?

This is literally exactly my experience (except 15lbs so far). Doctor has been very pleased so far, despite the recent spike. She forewarned me that it might happen though so I was prepared.
I am up somewhere between 7 - 10 pounds on my prepregnancy weight depending on the time of day (I'm 33w tomorrow). My doctor doesn't seem to bring it up other than to say make good nutritional choices, most days I'm having a really hard time stomaching food because of reflux and gall bladder pain. Last U/S baby was about 40th percentile and I have my next U/S Wednesday and I'm starting to get nervous that her weight may be tapering off again. I'm getting really self conscious of all of the people telling me I look like I'm loosing weight all over and gaining a belly, or that I barely look pregnant. It's starting to make me worry even though I try to just take their compliments because they don't know the whole situation.
I am either up 14 or 24 pounds depending on PP weight, or the weight from all the weighy I lost during first trimester (my dr goes by this number ). She was not happy with my four pkind weight gain two weeks ago, and neither was I. However, this appointment I didn't gain anything, which is awesome. i have not been great about food choices, but I have been throwing in more fruits. Baby has been measuring on track and super active.
Hello everyone! I'm currently 31 weeks. I lost about 12 lbs during the first trimester and started to gain a few pounds around 24 weeks. I think like 3 lbs? My OB seems fine with this and has mentioned not to lose weight because that means I'm not getting enough calories. I had a growth scan at 28 weeks and baby is in the 78th percentile.
I'm still down about five pounds from my prepregnancy weight, I lost 10-12 initially. My midwife isn't worried at all because I am eating plenty and making good choices. Baby has been measuring right on track the whole time so she hasn't expressed any concern about it. I think cutting out alcohol and being more concious about what I'm eating in general has made a big difference. Overall the midwife is happy with everything, I'm like @theshannondee and even though I've been heavier since I was a teenager, I've always had good numbers outside of my actual weight, like blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose etc.
I have gained 10 pounds from my prepregnancy weight. I lost 5 pounds in my first trimester. I stayed steady at same weight for about 10 weeks but lately i have been gaining about a pound a week. She had said at the beginning that she wanted me to continue losing weight, so every time I go in now i have a little panic when I jump on that scale. She hasnt mentioned, but ive been measuring a little ahead, my teats have come back great and she always remarks how great my bp is. I dont even have much swelling. So hopefully all the great eating choices i have made are showing her that even though im gaining weight its from good choices.
I'm up about 14lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight but I'm worried I'll pack it on these last 8 weeks. I gained 4 in the 2 weeks between my last apts so I'm nervous to see how much I gained by tomorrow. Thankfully my dr has literally never said anything about my weight (even when I gained 50-60 with DS). I hope I'm motivated to lose it all when this LO is born since I never did with DS.
Well, this is depressing. I have gained over 30 pounds this pregnancy at 30 weeks. My OB hasn't lectured me too much but I know my eating habits have been terrible. Having cerebral palsy does not mix well with baby-growing so physical activity has been rough. I know I need to do better.
I'm up at least 20/25 pounds since the start of the pregnancy. I did lose some of that in the first trimester but I put it all back on. Saying that though, it seem's to be all bump, I was always a bit chunkier and I've noticed no extra weight gain in the rest of my body (thankfully). Baby weighed about 2 pounds 1 oz at 26 weeks. I must check the averages for each week to see if that's average, I reckon it sounds a bit on the big side!
Edited to add: When my mother was pregnant on my brother she went from about 8 stone (112 pounds) to about 15 stone (210 pounds). Leaving the hospital she was weighed, she weighed just under 10 stone (140 pounds). She said the majority of it was water weight, so regardless of what we all weigh now, once baby comes out we'll be a few pound lighter. So don't let it depress you ladies!
I'm currently up by 15lbs from pp weight. I didn't gain anything until the end of 2nd tri and I've been slowly gaining since. I don't think I eat terribly, granted I could do better. All of my stats have been good thus far and DR hasn't said she's concerned and baby is measuring right on time.
I am up about 17 lbs since pre-pregnancy. My last apt was my biggest weight gain, my dr. kindly pointed out my cankles seems I am retaining a bit of water. I have rotated through all of the Dr's at the practice and only 1 has had a problem with my weight gain so far. At 32 weeks baby was measuring 4 lbs 10 oz, so on the big side. My husband and I are both big people (I am also 6 feet tall), so I am not shocked that we would have a bigger baby. Though we were both in the upper 7 lbs at birth. So we shall see.
I've decided to stop caring about the number on the scale at this point. I have 6 weeks left and as long as I stick to my relatively healthy and reasonable diet, I know whatever I gain is not fat/unnecessary. It's gonna be baby and water weight.

Dont let it make you feel depressed. I honestly told myself I was going to gain whatever i gained as long as i was happy. As long as your OB isnt on your case, just enjoy your pregnancy!
