Thursday Ticker Change

It's time for all 3 of us to give our stats:

How many weeks are you/size comparison?

30 weeks today! Baby is the size of a zucchini.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms:

Heartburn, constipation, leg cramps galore, insomnia, and headaches.  Also, I can't fit into my maternity pants anymore. This happened to me last pregnancy. I have such a short torso that my hips really expand while pregnant. Ugh. I just feel fat and gross. I guess it's all dresses for me for the next 10 weeks. I just ordered some maternity spanx to help with the weird lumpy look going on near my hips. Hope that helps smooth things out for me.

Doing anything baby-related this week?

Headed to my 30W appointment today. Can't wait to be lectured about how much weight I gained.

GTKY #1: How's the nesting going?

This weekend we'll be putting together the nightstand for the nursery and hanging up the window valences and drapes in there as well. Drapers are also going to be put up in our master bedroom this weekend as well (we just moved into our house 5 months ago), since baby will be spending the first few months in there. I also took apart the old pack n play and washed everything that I could detach from it. Everything's starting to come together. I'm waiting until I'm only 60 days away to order the other things I need for the nursery (the glider and a couple other things) so that I can get my registry completion discount.

GTKY #2: Any weekend plans?

Headed to a DMB concert with DH at one of those outdoor pavilions this Friday night. It will be nice to spend a night to ourselves, plus I get to re-live all those old songs I used to listen to back in the late 90's and 00's. Then Saturday afternoon we have our neighborhood crawfish boil. Excited to meet some of our neighbors! Again, this must be a southern thing. . . .

@rnyland1 Crawfish boil!!!  I'm in the Northeast so never been to one... but DH and I have friends that live in Houston and I've heard about their legendary crawfish boils... I've always wanted to go to one so bad. Enjoy!!
  • @kellz14 yeah it really is a big deal around here. Personally I don't love crawfish, but I am really into "crab boils" which are essentially the same concept except with crab. Being a transplant to the south I always have to watch a you tube video on how to eat crawfish before I go to one of these things. There will probably be lots of beer there that I won't be able to partake in as well. :( Next time!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rants: got stung yesterday weeding in the front landscaping! Damn carpenter bees are nasty little suckers! Raves: The sun is out and NO RAIN! I'll take it after 1 and 1/2 weeks of cloudy, miserable, cold weather! Symptoms: Keep telling myself less than 11 weeks of this horrible, stabbing rib pain! I don't wish this on my worse enemy! Makes me miserable and I wish it would just go away!

Doing anything baby-related this week? DH and I are going on the hospital tour Sunday! Retaining information is something he is good at more so than I so I'm very happy he will be with me!

GTKY #1: How's the nesting going? Not sure if cleaning around the house and getting the nursery ready is considered "nesting" . I almost feel as if I have a type of OCD where I will vacuum/steam cleaning the one dirty floor but end up doing 5 other rooms....LMAO That's just me on the real. I'm sure it will hit me the further I am into this pregnancy.

GTKY #2: Any weekend plans? Enjoying the nice weather and trying to finish landscaping with my swollen bee hand...WAH  :s:'(

    30 weeks - Motorcycle Helmet

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:

I had a bp scare on Monday but thankfully everything is normal and they think it was just blood rushing to my head or something like that.  I also failed my 3 hour glucose test yesterday which is a bummer.

    Doing anything baby-related this week?

I have my next appointment tomorrow and will probably get loads of info on GD.

GTKY #1: How's the nesting going?

Still pretty much non existent.  Although, after thinking my bp was starting to spike, I realized that I don't have much time left to get myself motivated. It's just tough with a toddler and DH working off hours from me.

    GTKY #2: Any weekend plans?

I'm hoping to visit a friend tomorrow who had her baby on April 1st.  So excited to hold a squishy again! DD is also a month younger than her DD and I'm excited for them to play together.  Other than that, we are adulting and getting our cars fixed.

  • How many weeks are you/size comparison?

29 Weeks.  size of an acorn squash.

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:

Just the usual shenanigans.  heartburn, sore hips, insomnia.  I'm getting to the point where I'm hot all the time.  could just be typical SC weather too tho.

    Doing anything baby-related this week?

I bought a crib, dresser, mattress, and a bring home outfit for Lukas this week.  I feel like there was something else to but I can't remember.

GTKY #1: How's the nesting going?

Well.  I kind of feel like I have most of my nesting urges at work.  I've organized, filed, and cleaned house this week at the office, but  by the time I get home I'm too tired to do anything.  Mayhaps the weekend.

    GTKY #2: Any weekend plans?

There's a baby and bump expo thing near me Saturday.  I was thinking of doing that but I am not sure anymore. So, more than likely a whole lot of nothing.

  • How many weeks are you/size comparison?

29 Weeks.  size of an acorn squash.

    Rants/Raves/Symptoms:

Rant: Not enjoying the BH contractions every evening... those things really hurt at times!  Also not enjoying restricting my diet and pricking my fingers 4 times a day - gestational diabetes sucks.

Rave: I do have to brag on my DH though - he's stepped up and is doing the cooking and laundry so that I don't have to, so that I can come home from work and rest since being up and moving a lot seems to make the BH a lot worse.

    Doing anything baby-related this week?

Nothing that fun - I need to go buy some more glucometer strips so that I can continue to monitor my glucose levels for the GD.

GTKY #1: How's the nesting going?

We have the nursery painted, furniture in there, bedding in the nursery, and infant car seat with two bases.

    GTKY #2: Any weekend plans?

We have a babysitter tomorrow night for DS, so we can go watch the new Avengers movie!  Yay for date night with DH!!

So there's this boy. He kinda stole my heart. He calls me "Mom"
