Happy weekend all! Just got the call I'm triggering tonight! E/R set for 8:15 am Tuesday. The bloating and cramping hasn't been too bad but my stomach is ready to stop these shots, between 4 shots a day and the acupuncture and cupping my stomach is all bruised.
I have a similar question as @babyblue13077 in regards to PIO injections. About an hour after the first injection, my uterus started cramping like a period cramp. Have others experienced this? Thanks!
******* Married Jan. 2014 Me:36 DH: 39 TTC since August 2014, Mild PCOS + uterine fibroids Myomectomy June 2015- 18 fibroids removed IVF #1, May 2016 = 32 eggs retrieved, 12 fertilized, 7 frozen, 3 PGS normal FET#2, July 2016 = one embryo transferred TRIGGER BFP! @Sunflower5678 I use a 25g needle for my progesterone (mine is in ethyl oleate, though--not oil). My delestrogen is too thick and I have to use a 22g needle for that one. I can definitely tell the difference! That 25g slides in no problem but the 22g requires an actual 'push' to get it to break the skin.
It does make for a slower process for drawing up the meds, but is totally worth it when it comes to the actual injection.

@Sunflower5678 thank you! I love my clinic, and thankfully I'm just going that far for the transfer. 2.5 hours is pretty far too, but worth it for a good clinic with staff you like! Great #'s. Are you doing a fresh transfer?
@lilmissslp so exciting! Thinking of you tomorrow.

Ok ya'll I made it. I went to the baby shower. I'd told the mom to be that I couldn't stay long since I had something else to get to (not a lie). She was totally cool with it and I'm glad I went. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see her open my gift but I told her to message me with questions and I'd give her the link to figure it out. (I got her the new snoofy bee changing pad. : ) I'm glad I went but now I'm dreading my beta tomorrow. I've been feeling period-crampy since Wednesday so I'm not expecting good things tomorrow. Ugh!!!
@kyrgyzshan My RE told me that PMS and early pregnancy have the exact same symptoms, so the crampy feeling is not necessarily a bad thing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
My beta is Saturday and I may lose my mind waiting. My husband and I hadn't really talked about what we would and would not share publicly and WHEN we would share info, so he is freaked out because some of his friends/family are now aware (I put a picture of my embryo with no info on my rarely used instagram, and he got a phone call from a friend asking if I was pregnant). He knows I have my blog and post there (his casual friends don't follow it....it actually isn't really followed by anyone but my family and some coworkers), but he is now worried about if things go wrong and having to untell people. My mindset is that if more people know, more people will support us, but he would rather deal with things on his own. So now I am extra concerned. I bought some pregnancy tests and will hold off as long as I can, but I sense testing in my near future.

@PNW12RN thanks! I also have been pretty vocal with people about our journey. Before I even needed to think about IF for myself, I had a friend going through it who was also vocal. She mentioned that her sister went through the same thing and didn't tell a soul. She was so isolated and felt alone so I took her advice about being open about it. If someone asks about your embryo pic and wonders if you're pregnant, I always saying "we're working on it!" That way, I don't think there's anything to untell since it's just the beginning stages. Once we do get a BFP we're gonna tell our family and only a few very close friends. We'll wait several weeks before we announce it. I think you're good if only a few select friends read your blog post. Especially if you make the initial announcement with the caveat that this is a fragile situation and you're keeping it relatively quiet for now. FX for you and your upcoming beta!!! Btw, this is my first round to not poas! I'd always wanted to surprise DH before the official doctors call, but it's only ever made me more upset to keep getting the BFNs over and over. Good luck to you!!! : ).
My DH just did my first PIO. Not too bad! I think the ganerelix was way worse as far as discomfort.
My retrieval was Friday...I'm back to work tomorrow. How long did everyone take Tylenol/pain meds? Pain level I'm feeling okay...still feel really bloated though! I've just been taking regular Tylenol today but feel like I might not even need it tomorrow.
@Sunflower5678 I took the Tylenol on er day and the following day, after that things were bearable. The bloating took 4or 5 days to get back to normal.
So, I just cried all over the phlebotomist at my beta test! I'm spotting this morning and I know the test will be negative. The only thing worse than going through this agonizing process and the dibilitating depression of a BFN is having to deal with your stupid period on top of it!!! I've got a consult with my doc for August 30, but since I was bawling all over the desk this morning I think they'll move it up. Ugh!!! I hate this!!!!
@kyrgyzshan - good luck on your beta! FX for good numbers!
ETA: I hadn't reloaded the page in a while so I missed your post above mine, @Kyrgyzshan ...thinking of you and hopefully you'll be able to get things moving a bit more quickly now! ::hugs::
@kyrgyzshan I'm so sorry about your experience at your beta. At my last beta it took everything I had not to breakdown, it's just such an emotionally charged experience especially when you already "know" the outcome. Hope the tears moves things up a bit. I cried at my last RE visit, I think it took our relationship to the next level... or at least made her feel bad for me. Best to you.
@kyrgyzshan oh no! I'm so sorry to hear your day isn't starting out the best. I think the RE office is probably used to women crying. I am still holding out hope that you will get some good news when the phone call comes in and that you won't need the follow up appointment with your RE!
It has been a while since I last posted. I just wanted to get an update out even though I am still waiting on more information. We had our transfer on Thursday. They transferred 2 embryos and the doctor said that everything went as expected. As we were driving away I realized that they never told us anything about our embryos - how they thawed, if they had to thaw more than just the first 2, the stage/quality of the embryos that they transferred etc.. I didn't want to post until I knew my stats. We finally got a hold of someone at the clinic on Friday who was able to tell us that they did not have to thaw any more embryos but that was it.
I am going to try to call them again today to see if I can squeeze out a little more information.
Anyways, my beta is on the 25th and I will not be testing beforehand.
Me: 27 DH: 26 TTC since Dec 2013 Dx: Male Factor - Low Count/Morphology IUI not an option due to low count 1st IVF starts in April
@kerami1 hopefully you will get some more information from your clinic today - that's odd they didn't initially give you any more information the day of transfer. Only one more week till beta! I'll be testing the same day and won't be testing beforehand either. How have you been feeling?
@kyrgyzshan I hope you hear about your beta # soon! FX! All the symptoms you are describing are also pregnancy symptoms so I'm hoping for the best for you
@heather041413 I hope your transfer went well yesterday! When is your beta?
@lin681 Do we have a beta date? Hope you're feeling okay after your transfer last week!
@mtpbadger Great to hear from you! I am so glad that there is someone else that will be testing on the same day as I will be.
I have been feeling great, basically normal. The transfer was really easy. The only symptom I have noticed is a little nausea but that usually comes about 30 minutes to an hour after my PIO shot so I am sure it is just because of that. Oddly enough, if I eat something with chocolate in it right when I am starting to feel sick my nausea goes away. Best medicine ever!
How are you feeling?
Me: 27 DH: 26 TTC since Dec 2013 Dx: Male Factor - Low Count/Morphology IUI not an option due to low count 1st IVF starts in April
@kerami1 the first few days after the transfer I was nice and relaxed but now I'm starting to get anxious. I've started having a little nausea as well throughout the day starting this weekend and am not sure if it's the PIO (that I do at night), my body fighting something or due to the transfer. I've also had some cramping on and off in my lower abdomen which I'm hoping is a good thing! Next Monday can't come soon enough!
@kyrgyzshan - so sorry for this emotional roller coaster we are all on, and that it spills out at any time, but even if this isn't the month for you, I know you'll have your baby when it's right! ...and hopefully this is your month :-)
@mtpbadger and @Kerami1 - congrats on your transfers and betas around the corner! You are strong to wait to test....not sure if I'll be able to hold out when I'm in your position, but I can't decide to transfer 1 or 2 still, so my decision making is definitely not the greatest at the moment.
@wifeinraleigh28 - so glad you are starting stims! You have waited so long for this and I hope injections don't hurt, no side effects, and lots of follies and fertilized embabies for you!
AFM - am ramping up from 1 estrogen patch to 4 every other day and have ultrasound and blood work on Wednesday to make sure we are on track for a 7/26 transfer date. Getting excited! ....but not about the PIO :-(

It's official. BFN. I don't know if I can do this again. It's ruining my mental health as well as my relationship with my husband. And I'm only getting older. All the unanswerable questions are just so frustrating. And then the crappy egg/embryo quality is even more frustrating. Not sure if I should find a new RE or just keep chugging along. I'm so upset!
So sorry @kyrgyshan have you spoken to your Re about if there is anything they suggest or can do going forward? I think going to a new re even just to bounce some ideas off of doesn't hurt.
@kyrgyzshan so sorry to hear. This is so hard emotionally, financially, and on marriages. I hope you can the time you need to deal with this one and come together with your DH and decide what the best next step is for the two of you.
