  • Holy hell. I'm with @ginnyj2012. I need to sleep to process.

    Yeah, talk about anxiety!!!

  • I'm awful because I really liked Neegan's character. Talk about a charismatic creep. And #2 I really hope it was Carl that he whacked... I feel like if his goal was to get back at Rick, why anyone else? Plus, I feel like he'd be taking the most life that way if that makes sense.

Maggie and Daryl both looked so damn pitiful I wouldn't think he'd want to kill someone half dead already so I'm inclined to say they might be safe. It might've been Glenn but I definitely don't think it was Abraham, Sasha, etc.

Also, I'm really sick of Carol. I wish it could've been her.

  • I was trying to figure out what angle he was out to see if I could tell whom was sitting in that position. Didn't work. I think it was rather Glenn but I don't see Maggie staying quiet if so.
  • OMG what a heart racing 90 minutes and what a terrible, terrible ending to what could've been one of the best episodes of television ever.  So disappointed.  I think they completely ruined it by keeping it a cliffhanger.  I have to give major props to everyone on that cast because each and every performance was amazing.  I'm so bummed the cliffhanger spoilers were true, I really thought they had far more respect for the fandom.  It was such a disservice to loyal fans and to those who read the comic.  An iconic moment completely destroyed and I'm not even looking forward to the next season because it's going to be so incredibly sad.

My money was all on Glenn because I had listened to audio of that whole scene with Negan when it leaked late last week and there were some heavy indicators on that audio that Glenn was the one.  But the fact that the cast doesn't even know who it is and that they removed a lot of the screams that you could here in the leaked audio that didn't make it onto the broadcast has changed my mind.  I really think it could be anyone except for Rick, Carl and Daryl so I have no idea at this point.  I think it should be Glenn because they talked about how that person's death is going to shape the story going forward.  If they keep to where the comic went, especially with Maggie, Glenn's death would have the most impact.

But seriously who knows with these writers.  I'm actually glad this season is over because there were some colossal screw ups this season - the Glenn fake out death, Carol and Morgan character destruction (I had so much hope for both of them this season), a painfully slow first half that also ended on a cliffhanger, and now this God awful finale ending.  I need a break.  Sigh.

Carl is out in my book. I never thought it would be him but when the camera was looking at Negan right before it happened he said in his little speech that if anyone screams or moves cut the kids other eye out and give it to his dad (I don't remember how he said it but that was the gist). So that was an indicator that it wasn't either of them. Aaron is the only it her one that is out for me. This is suppose to be a huge moment and if they killed him then the fans wouldn't be so shocked. He's just not a huge character at this point.

@fishwife799 - yeah, as much as I wish they would have went that direction I definitely don't think it was Carl that got it (mostly because of the popping out the eye comment) but I would have liked to see how that would have affected Rick and think it could equally shape the story as much as Glenn dying in the comics did.

BUT. My actual money is on Glenn. Gah and October is SO far away.
  • 1. Add me to the list of liking Neagan. Hes a powerful presence.

    2. I don't see it being Carl, Rick, any of the girls, or Aaron.

    3. Why are all the Saviors men? Do they have women in the group at their home base? Where is their base? Neagan has a lot of people, their compound must be huge. I know in previous episodes we saw one of the compounds, but they have to have a main one too right?

    4. I'm annoyed that there are several cliffhangers. What's going on with Carol? Maggie's baby? And of course who's getting lucielled?

    5. I'm not satisfied with the answer given on talking dead for why they ended the episode that way.  I would have preferred knowing who died and then next season showing the aftermath.

Ugh, what a disappointing episode! Truly one of the worst season finales  I've ever watched. It wasn't horrible, but the way the ended it was so lousy.
I'm thinking it was Abraham or Glen who was bashed, but I guess I'll have to wait 6 freaking months until I find out.

  • 1. Agreed not Carl. Probably not Rick, but he would make the most strategic sense. If t weren't for the eyeball statement, I'd be certain of Rick. Who else in that line up would better break the community? Only Maggie or Glen, but that would lead to revenge mentality when they should just want the community to feel off balance and disorganized. Best guess: Michonne or Daryl.

    2. Love the casting of Neegan, but thought he'd be scarier as a character. The monologue didn't ring true for me. Too proto-typical I'm a bad scary guy. Rick was far more terrifying when he lost his marbles and chewed on some guy's cheek. I hope Neegan gets less obvious, although the intimidation tactics have been obvious all season and I thought the lead up tonight was ok. I'm just not afraid of Neegan yet.

    3. Also- I love Carol. I see her coming back, baking a batch of special cookies and poisoning all of Neegan's crew, especially if they bashed Daryl.

    4. Apparently now that I'm pregnant, I really really don't like seeing violence. I'm a pansy now. Totally put me off my fried wontons and sweet and sour sauce. Boo.

  • @HBamama2B Oh!!! I don't know how I forgot about Michonne. It could definitely be Michonne.

Yeah, she had enough lead points in the episode that they were playing her up, but less than the too obvious glen and Maggie moments. She's a huge enough character for it to be a hit, have an impact on Rick, and still not so much that it would drive away critical show momentum like killing Rick would. DH is certain it's Glen, but I think a) too obvious and they already killed him last time and b) why bother killing someone so easily controlled (via Maggie)?

  • 1. Ugh I was highly disappointed in the season finale. I thought it would be more action-packed not just them driving in the damn RV the whole time.

    2. I'm pissed they left us with so many unanswered questions. They have a loyal fan base so there's no need to "bring us back" we're all coming back!

    3. All I can think of when I see Neagan is Dennys from Grey's Anatomy which is so conflicting!!

    4. I just want to know who is dead and how Maggie's baby is!
  • Like other PPs said, the season finale was highly disappointing. God it just kept dragging on. I even waited to watch it on my DVR so I could fast forward thru commercials.

Carol's scenes were flat out painful to watch (In terms of it dragging on and being boring) I just kept thinking, "Gosh just die already, Morgan just leave her". The sad thing is I usually like Carol. This episode made me despise her.

However, Negan is freaking awesome! I almost feel bad saying that because he's evil.
I can't wait to see more of him.
My H believes it was Eugene who got whacked.
    I believe it was Daryl.

I guess we will see in October.
Honestly I wish it had been Carol, she was just flat out irritating.
  • Im glad that everyone is just as disappointed as I am about it.

I really like the concept of this show, it puts us all into a place of wondering how on earth we would survive given an apocalypse situation. I like that for the most part, the things that go on are practical. Its always bothered me that they almost never mention how they always have gas, but atleast did talk about it this episode. However i found this episode to kind of go to a place where the story-line became slightly impractical. I get that there were more saviors and Ricks group didnt kill them all, i get that there must be a larger place somewhere with all Negan's guys and whatnot. However i found this roadblocking tactic to be really impractical. I get that it was supposed to show Negan's power, but its unrealistic in an apocalypse scenario. How did they know they were going to take Maggie to the doctor that exact day. Did they just sit there all the time and wait? I know that Daryl, Michonne, etc. were somewhat ''missing'' but that wasn't the reason they were all going out, they were bringing Maggie to the doctor. So i just think its pretty odd to base the entire episode off this concept that somehow the saviors knew when and where they were going to go, when Maggie's situation happened quick and randomly. Its not like there is cell phone or any technology they can use to know that. So how did they know exactly where to go in the woods to set up the RV and the lights and stuff. Its just really not realistic. So i don't know, I am kind of bummed about that because i just feel it wasn't a realistic situation.

The eye comment definitely did make me think it was Carl who got hit, but I dont know how Rick would have just sat still and let that happen. I dont care that there were probably 100 guns pointed at him, its AGAIN impractical to believe that Rick would have just sat there and not attacked Negan even knowing he would likely have gotten 'lucielled' then too. Though based on a comment above it seems there was a possibility that they muted the reactions of the others which obviously would have given away a lot more about who it was.

I also agree that i dont think this POV shot was really that necessary. I think like others have said, we were coming back either which way and I think it would have been better to show us who it was and then start next season up with the reactions and the aftermath. Once it was over i was literally like.. wait a minute that was the end?? Something just seemed really off about it. The eye comment still makes me think Carl, but I feel like Carl is kind of an odd choice. I agree that Daryl and Maggie were probably too pitful, i think Rick would make sense but is unlikely for the storyline. Though also this might be a bit silly to say, but I also wonder if ANYONE dies at all. We were all so much expecting a death that i wonder if the person is just very badly injured but ends up pulling through. In that case I could see it being Rick.

I too am kind of over Carol and Morgan and i was completely ready for her to die. I also dont like how they randomly introduced this totally other group with horses all the sudden at the end of the Carol part. Ive kind of had enough of all these ''groups'' popping up.

I also completely dont get how Negan has so many people but his guys have only started popping up recently. Though the death aside, I really have no idea how this is going to go storyline wise. It seems really unlikely with a situation like that with such a massive amount of people and seemingly power that somehow they are eventually going to go back to Alexandria and resume life. I feel like it somewhat puts a damper on the future of the show because they have consistently made the next 'bad guy' worse and worse, so what happens when the Negan story line ends for whatever reason. I guess i just worry that something this big will potentially be the beginning of the end of the entire show.
  • I actually just listened to that ''leaked clip'' that came out before the episode did. He clearly says if anyone moves or says anything, to cut the boy's remaining eye out and feed it to his father which is definitely saying that its not Carl or Rick since they would both need to be alive for that scenario to happen. Atleast in my opinion.

I don't think the actors even know who it is at this point. Probably how they plan on keeping it from being leaked.

My front runners are Glen or Michone. I'm basing this off of a few clues and upcoming story lines from the book and the fact that it has to hit hard with the viewers.

The group Morgan and Carol are meeting up with is called The Kingdom.

In the book Andrea is still alive and her and Rick are hooking up. Michone actually ends up having a thing with the leader of the Kingdom. So I'm wondering since this won't happen now maybe it's her???? Going to push Rick over the edge they have teased for so long now. Idk. I would love to see him really lose it like he does in the books. It's all been so sugar coated in the show.

My gut says Glen but I hope I'm wrong. He is my favorite from the book and I was devasted when he died. Plus I have a huge crush on Steven Yeun lol. But his death could push Maggie over the edge (I think she is already losing the baby for sure) and get her where she needs to be to take over the hilltop.

Then there is the whole Eugene story line. Him standing up for himself and coming into his own. Negans comment of "taking it like a champ" made me think of him.

But it also could be Abraham or Sasha based on his character from the book and his timeline and the love triangle thing. Who knows lol.

Oh and Negans dialogue was pretty true to the comic. He is such a nasty character but the way he speaks is a little off and silly lol. I really hope they pursue the weird story line between him and "coral" (imagine ricks voice) lol as the next season moves on.

Going to be a long summer. Sorry for the long post. I'm a nerd.

  • ^^ That meme is everything.
  • I think if it goes by the comic then Glenn...if not Michonne
