Quick quilt I threw together for a friend's shower next weekend. White and gold for the dad (Georgia Tech! Woo!), houndstooth for the mom (Alabama...that's my max enthusiasm )
@redmar This is probably the easiest beginner bow. You need two sizes of ribbon, a clip or barrette, a hot glue gun and a lighter. Cut 2 strips of the larger ribbon 10 inches long, seal the edges with the lighter to prevent fray. Fold each ribbon in half and make a crease. Bring edges to the center and glue. Put a small dot of glue in the center of each ribbon and pinch closed. Flip over the ribbon and repeat making a 3 accordion fold. Glue the two folded ribbons together. Cut and seal two pieces of the smaller ribbon, one about 4 inches the other to the size of your clip. Glue the smaller ribbon to the back of the clip. Secure the bow to the clip with glue and wrap the smaller ribbon around the center.
@KimmySchmidt That is super cute! You didn't happen to write down your measurements for that, did you? Mine don't need recovering yet, but your sunny lemon fabric is making want to do sets of seasonal slipcovers! Also, have you seen the tiny people versions at your Ikea? I just noticed them this weekend and I am already looking forward to getting one for this LO!
@Jabreen- my son has a tiny little white wooden rocking chair (not from Ikea) in his nursery and he absolutely loves it. He hoists himself into it before bed and in the morning (we're not in his nursery very often as it's on the 2nd floor of our house) and says "rock! rock! rock!" He got it for this past Christmas, so at 1 year old and uses it more and more as he gets a bit bigger!

I have seen the tiny version! It is so cute! This is the little pattern I drew myself: I did a double 1/2" seam on the ends that fold over envelope style. All the other seams are 1/2".
I used a bolt that was 54" wide, so I got away with two yards and a seam under the seat, but you could make that center strip one long piece if you had enough yardage.
I'm adding the final touches to my first craft - a wooden sign to hang in the nursery. It may need another coat of paint, but I wanted to share now anyways
Just finished this for the nursery Painted wooden letters and embroidery hoops with various fabrics. Hard to tell from the photo but our accent colors are coral and mint! The crib will go below this.
My mother taught be the very basics of crocheting years ago, and I didn't do it very often because all I made were blankets (which take FOREVER) but last month I realized I could make things for my little cauliflower! And it is way more satisfying, since each thing takes a couple of hours, not weeks. Here's what I've got so far:
Thanks @kosmo86@ahackett1990 yes I found the pattern for the birdies online. They were meant to be pincushions but they were cute so I'm doing my own thing. Ha. I'm sure you can find elephant patterns online or on Pinterest! I'd love to see the end product.

They definitely work for a mobile, not just pincushions! I have found a tutorial on Pinterest for little elephants and I will start them today and post a picture when I've finished them
@ahackett1990 I started with some Pinterest patterns but couldn't find one I loved. I used those as guide to draw up a simple elephant pattern. Just doubled the legs to make them 3D. Now just need a mobile arm so I can hang them. Can't wait to see yours!
@cmiska oh I love yours!!! Im using a template that looks very similar to the shape of yours! I'm making a trip to Jo Ann fabrics this afternoon since they have a huge Memorial Day sale. I need to pick up some felt and beads for the eyes. I'm hanging mine from an embroidery hoop and adding knots of tulle and colored fabric to hide the hoop. I'll post a picture when I'm done!
@diagonalley That is such a cute quilt! I haven't tried appliques yet, but you are definitely inspiring me!
Also, several of you are inspiring me to build my own mobile, too. I'd been looking a little bit hand haven't loved one yet. That's a great use for all my scraps!
Also, my latest completed project: a hand-cut chenille blanket. Made by stitching flannel to a backing with narrow lines on the bias, then slashing the flannel in the channels you made. Each run through the washer/dryer makes it more curly and fluffy on the back!
Getting back into the crocheting groove. When I was pregnant with DD, I crocheted Christmas stockings for DH, DD, and me; I need to get one started for 2.0.
I just finished a bunch of crocheted items for my little boy! I'm a pretty advanced hooker and am excited to finally get to create things for my own child! I used this as my facebook announcement.

I finished this last weekend. We are going with a Safari theme for our nursery. The little animals come painted, but the letters, the wooden shapes and the background I did myself.
We are way behind at our house. Painting the big girl room today. But I want to brag that I refinished a gigantic dresser 100% by myself (insert strong arm emoji)
