@mtpbadger Couldn't remember what happened trigger day last cycle, but I got instructions and triggered today and I used my regular morning meds and then evening meds 2 hours prior to trigger. Now no more shots until FET prep. ETA: I just noticed this is too late because you've triggered. Yay! Also, I'm sorry - I know it's frustrating and disappointing when what we've hoped and planned for changes. I hope you feel okay and recover from ER quickly. I'm trying not to have ovary envy, but your numbers are enviable.

@kyrgyzstan We didn't get BD restrictions other than to do it at least 5 days before ER, but not during the 2 days prior. That's for the best semen sample quality. Depending on comfort level and swelling, you may not feel like BD, but I don't think it causes any harm.

To all the other ladies going in for ER this Wednesday, May the 4th be with us!

  • @tusername that is awesome your follies responded so well! Fingers crossed you don't end up with OHSS but if you do, we can go through our FETs together. How did the trigger shot go? Only one more day till our retrievals!

@babylonghorn16 I have a protocol really similar but I should be on lupron for a shorter time than you, probably about a week, depending when I get my period. Then I'll continue lupron but at a lower dose, 5u instead of 10u. So far I'm lucky I didn't get much side effect, I hope yours will get better!

@babylonghorn16 Stinging and a bit of a reaction is totally normal. I had nice little welts from the Ganirelix too. And no, the lid won't snap back on the vial after you open it.
@mtpbadger Yikes! That's terrible! Hurrah for super hubby and getting it worked out! Best of luck today!
@cmm012 It can feel so overwhelming, just hang in there! It's so so exciting to get started. Just think about what a cool opportunity this is, how you get to see the wonder of science and the power of God. I've been doing a body scan meditation lately, where I travel through my body starting at my feet. I'll say something good about each part of my body as I go, and I really focus on my stomach area. "This is my stomach, it is healthy, there's going to be a baby in there soon. I will respond to the meds well, I will not have bad reactions. I will have a healthy pregnancy, etc." It's very calming and helps me feel zen for a long time after.
@MntnGirl haha! May the 4th be with you too!
@Tusername That's so great! I had something added as well to help prevent OHSS, can't remember what it was but it was a 5-day suppository that started two days before retrieval.

Thank you everyone for welcoming me into the group! @mtpbadger I totally would have freaked out! Props to you for keeping it together! Glad your hubby was able to come to the rescue!

i got my tentative calendar today and it looks like they are pushing everything back for me, so I will be stimming and ER in June now. I'm still gonna hang around here and just cheer everyone on! I already feel so much better about this process thanks to reading through this thread, so thank you all for that!!

  • @Tusername of course, giiir! Is that a pic of all your follicles?! That's awesome if so!!

@SanBL good to know someone has similar protocol! My dose of Lupron is higher, but I'm doing a similar dosage downgrade - 20 units for 13 days, and then 10 units for 10 days. I'm guessing the higher dosage/longer duration is bc I have PCOS, so they are trying to stop me from overstimming. Thanks for the kind words!

@cmm012 I hope you find peace. I know this process freakin SUCKS and there are so many things that can happen during it... but have faith that everything will work out one way or the other. Praying for you!

@dragonfaerie after I went back and read the Lupron info sheets, I felt a little better. Yeah, there's no way that cap was going back on lol. I like that meditation exercise you posted! I'm going to try that!

AFM - no more nightmares, just some sleep disruptions. Woke up last night @ 2am to put the cat out of our room and was very dizzy. Other than that, no issues! Hopefully I'll get used to the meds as I go.

In another thread they were posting pics of fur babies. Here's Cheese, Dexter, and Carl! :)

  • @msirni0 I'm planning on hanging around too even though I most likely won't transfer until June now. I was a wreck last night but am just trying to relax and take it as it comes. if DH hasn't been around I am sure I would have been an even hotter mess than I was!
  • @kyrgyzshan I agree with @mtpbadger: If you do BD with DH make sure it's protected.  I asked my RE about it and she seemed honestly a little surprised because I think most people are so uncomfortable they don't even want to BD during stims.  I can't even imagine doing it right now, but I guess it depends on your reactions to all the hormones.

  • So just freaked out went to bathroom wiped and had a dark brown discharge. Called IVF nurse cried on phone to her. She said it could be a good sign as long as it's not bright red. I'm still not at ease until Thursday once bloodwork is done. Anyone have this happen?
  • During my injections class the nurse that taught it said about 70% of IVF patients have spotting so not to be concerned. I know it's much easier said than done but Thursday will be here before you know it!

  • Thanks @dragonfaerie and @emgem819!

@ultratomato it could be implantation bleeding! Brownish color means it's old blood from when they nestled in there! FX for you!!

I need some positive rays of sunshine my way please. There was some drama at Christmas between my dad and my MIL which led to my MIL not coming to our house for Christmas. I thought it was resolved, and we invited my MIL to join my family for Mother's Day. Apparently, she is still not over Christmas so she doesn't want to come. I just worry that when we do have kids she's going to keep trying to separate our families. I told DH that was not going to happen because I am not trucking babies between two or more houses for every single holiday. So everyone just needs to GROW UP and take care of their own issues and just GET OVER IT especially since my dad apologized and it's been FOUR MONTHS.
On top of that, we've been trying to schedule a clean-up day for our community since early April, and every time we schedule it, it SNOWS! I looked at the forecast for the next two weeks and no joke, during the week it's in the 70s or 80s and then on the weekends it's supposed to rain. I'm getting so annoyed because we wanted to have a Block Party to raise money for our community and that shouldn't happen until the clean-up day.
Today has just been utter poo and I'm over it.
I'm sorry for the rant and negativity.

  • @dragonfaerie family disputes are the worst. Luckily for me my in laws don't live in the same state they are all the way in Florida. I would put your foot down when you have kids and say that holidays are at your house and if they both wanted to see the kids they need to suck up there issues with each other. The kids come first and should not suffer for there issues. Hopefully when that grandchild is there they will get over everything. good luck!
  • Thanks @ultratomato I will definitely be putting my foot down. My babies come first! :)

  • @ultratomato  absolutely nothing to worry about.  Could definitely be implantation bleeding - I had that last round.  Also spotting is very common in early pregnancy. As long as its not a lot of bleeding, and is combined with cramping, you have nothing to worry about.

  • @tusername good luck tomorrow!! Fingers crossed for them to retrieve lots of mature follies!

AFM celebrating DH's 34th birthday tonight which was pretty low key but made a nice dinner and a cake. Retrieval at 10.15 tomorrow, I'm starting to get nervous and trying to block out the "what-ifs" but they are sneaking in. "What if the eggs aren't mature? Don't fertilize? Don't grow properly? What if there was more I could have done? What is none are good enough to freeze? Etc" I know it's a horrible road to go down and I have no control at this point so it's not worth thinking about but it's hard. I'll try and update you all tomorrow!
  • @mtpbadger sending good luck for tomorrow's ER.  Try to stay positive and remember you've done everything just right so far.  Let us know how things go.

  • GOOD LUCK to @Tusername and @mtpbadger with their ERs today...FX and cannot wait to hear how they went!

@ultratomato - i know that feeling about discharge...glad that it was just that one time and FX for you! Foggy brain here, I cannot remember, when is your beta set for?
  • @Tusername love your furbabies too!  Your cat has such striking eyes...beautiful!  Good luck at your ER tomorrow:)  You will do great!  Let us know how it goes!

I just had my 2nd ultrasound checkup today and they said I've got lots of potential follies (25-30 are growing) so things are looking good I guess.  Slow and steady growth right now.  US tech said I'm a good candidate for OHSS (ummm....not exactly a good thing!) so they'll want to watch the growth to make sure I don't get it, but follies grown enough to mature.  Started Centrotide this am which she said will slow growth as well and prevent early ovulation.  Worried that since it's looking like OHSS might be a probability I'll have to do a FET instead of Fresh Transfer.

I've included a photo of my own fur baby...15 year old Lily!

    @emgem819 15 y/o?! Wow! What a strong pup!

AFM - still getting used to these injections. Seems like everyday hurts more. Last night our water got turned off and we had guests staying with us and it was just a MESS... so I guess I took some frustration out on myself with the shot lol. Thought the faster I stick myself, the better. NOPE. I guess I need to go slow and gentle... and thinking 45 degree angle is best. Other than that, I'm feeling perfectly normal! Getting in all my exercise before I start Menopur/GonalF... nurse says nothing but walking after I start those meds.

Hope everyone else is having a great day! @KirstenCas - May the 4th be w/ you as well lol

  • @dragonfaerie Family drama can be awful! Luckily (knock on wood) with DH and me, it's pretty much been confined within DH's family, instead of crossing over into mine - so far! We just finished with a "little" spat where DH's racist/bigoted/insert-word-here aunt texted him something not nice and pretty offensive, he replied with something like "don't ever tell/text me this s*** again." Then his uncle, parents and half the family were scolding HIM to apologize. Probably would've just dissipated over time, except DH can be so stubborn sometimes and we will be seeing this part of the family in 2 weeks, so everyone knew this needed to be fixed so his aunt wouldn't make a scene then. DH finally apologized for "using a swear word at his aunt" and his aunt still thinks she did nothing wrong. Sometimes family dynamics confound me! SMH...

As for your MIL, I do hope that she can grow up and realize that it's not all about her. Especially if your dad already apologized...grudges help no one. I know that grandkids can sometimes help to smooth things over, so hopefully they all will have clearer heads by then!
I do have a feeling that once DH and I have kids, our respective parents will both insist that they NEED to have whatever/every holiday at their own house, so I hope it won't turn into a similar tug-of-war....Glad that the bubble bath and wine helped you relax!
