March Nursery Updates

We are still sitting here waiting for my friend to show up for breakfast (23 minutes late - pet peeve but I'll get over it).  in the meantime I thought I'd start a thread for the March nursery updates. Post away as you complete things, I love seeing everything!

We haven't gotten much further yet, but I did put the crib mobile together and unpack the bedding this weekend.

We haven't done anything yet as we are buying a house and moving this month. I can't wait to get started though! We are painting one wall red and leaving the rest white. The crib will go against the red wall. We are doing an Avenger's theme and I have two cute little Avenger's prints to hang up as well.

hang picture frames
set up change pad on top of dresser

thinking of painting the mirror so the white matches

Thank you! It's from an Etsy shop called Twirly Bird Designs. It's a Burts Bees outfit that I've seen a few other places and then she monograms it. I think she has a few other styles.

Sure! I feel like this one is pretty true to size for a newborn item. Any bigger and it would probably be too big to use for a first outfit.

In progress!! The painting is actually finished now (this was over the weekend) and we will put the crib up this weekend! Still need to find curtains, lighting, and figure out the other furniture. Still questioning if I want a dresser or just use bins in the closet to store/hang clothes.

This. Is. Awesome. I would totally do an Avengers theme if DH didn't think it was stupid.

I love this! We're doing an owl theme and I think this would go perfectly so maybe I can convince to do something similar instead of the shelves we were planning...

Everyone's nurseries look great! I haven't started yet. We're doing some renovations and the baby will be here in 8 weeks. I'm starting to freak out.

I can't wait to really get started! The crib is up, dresser should be here Friday and the glider is in the garage waiting to be put together. Maybe in a week or so I will post pictures!

My DH and his friend built the wall in our bedroom to create a nursery.  I just finished the drywall spackling and sanding (what a job!) and now I can paint and decorate.  So relieved we are making progress!!

No nursery here. The crib, video monitor, and sound machine are going in the master bedroom. I set everything else in the living room. DH fixed up this antique dresser & I added pretty knobs. The cloth diaper pail is ready too



Littlest baby boy also has his own cubby in the mudroom/foyer now.

The room further down will be me & DH's room, the room that I'm standing in will be the nursery. This picture was actually from a few days ago, since this has been taken, foam insulation boards have been put up, and electricity has been wired. Drywall should start Monday, then floors, etc. everything should be done by the end of March then we should hopefully have a month to move things in. I'm due May 2 so this is definitely nerve wracking to see things looking like this now.

Still have bookshelves that need to be installed over the bench and her name over the crib, but feel like we are making some good progress in here!!

@chottomotto I envy your mudroom!  It's so organized I feel more relaxed just looking at it.

We are prepping a guest bedroom to become DS's big boy room...blinds are installed, carpets are cleaned, and bedding should arrive in a week or so! Almost ready to order curtains, we will hang one and the other will be used to create a cornice board. We are using a bed, nightstand and dresser we already have but will be on the hunt for wall art and toy storage, and building some bracket shelves to display toy trucks that DH's grandfather made!

After Easter vacation we will move him in then really get to work on the nursery! I have new crib sheets and skirt, a changing table with baskets, a few accessories and a garland to hang. Still need to get more to decorate the walls and get it all set up. I'll be the late May due date mama posting about her nursery while others are snuggling their babies!

Finally got our furniture delivered this past Friday and moved all the items into the room. Shower is in 2 weeks so i wanted to get everything sorted and spots kind of figured out pre-shower so i can sort of just bring everything home and put it right away where its ultimately going to go. Though im sure i will need to re-sort, and the things on the shelves are definitely not staying that way.

Color didnt come out as dark or as really the tone i wanted, but we decided to just go with it. It was called Antique Pearl and ironically enough it really shifts between 3 colors like a pearl would. Depending on the time of day and amount of light, it either looks pink, grey or lavender. But all are extremely subtle and we didnt want THAT subtle. Also, the rug color is nothing like what it looked like on the computer, its much more minty than we wanted, but again were just going to live with it.

The overall theme is like Woodland Fairies, (i think a few other moms here were working with similar themes!) but more like a fairy creating her own nursery rather than covering the nursery in fairy theme, if that makes any sense. We have a long way to go but pulling in a lot of natural elements like moss and wood that we just haven't gotten to yet. Using herbs, dried flowers and things like that in the decor. Have some antiqued fairy prints coming in the mail.  Definitely ways to go still and definitely still a lots of mess that needs to get put away. The closet (not pictured) isnt ready yet so hopefully the clutter will be put in there this weekend. I just got home from buying the window treatments so im hoping they will be on by tonight.

Is the chair print from buy buy baby? think that's very close to what I want to custom order. And yes, I have not ordered furniture yet because I am a procrastinator.

I wish I had the magic touch that some of you have. I was happy with our room, until I saw some of these.

Our glider should be here this weekend, and I hope to get it built on Sunday. Still nervous it will be too big for the room, but will have to make it work

I got some frames this week I plan on painting for the prints on the wall too.

Hoping to have updated pics for you guys this weekend. Although, you all just put me to shame!

@yogahh  I'm with you!  All these nurseries are so pretty/stylish/cool and I'm kind of a plain Jane and just not girly at all.  I only have 2 of the walls with decorations on them so far, so I haven't posted any pics yet...or maybe it's because I have nursery envy!

@TinaTho I had a friend just order her rocker from BBB and it was a 12-16 week wait.  I would order soon if you can!

We had the exact opposite issue. The furniture was ready to be delivered WAY too soon and we werent able to recieve it. We had to put them off for almost 6 more weeks.

We got all the furniture set up (and built...ohhhhh Ikea) during the last month and have one of three murals finished! Also bought rug and lamp....still need to decide on curtains.

It's coming together, even though the glider is still not put together (dh has been sick the last two weekends so fingers crossed next weekend). It's amazing what a lil paint can do to pull the room together! Painted frames, the elephant lamp and a crate that I wanted to use as a book shelf to hang on the wall but I'm worried that it might be too heavy (??). Any other mamas scared to death of anything falling in the crib? I'm nervous about the frames over the bed. Oh, and I also made a no sew pillow since I found a sheet on sale that matches the coral color to a tee!! I just need to iron and fix the bow and it will go on the glider.

Room is painted. A beautiful purple that the hubs picked out! A grey glider and all the other furniture will be white. We have a changing table/dresser too just need to put it all together. Little ms Abby is going to have the best room in the place!!

Have gone from guest room to painted this weekend, need to paint the window trim and then add the cribs and decorate. 
So far it's all bright teal with the mountain mural. There will be little hot air balloons in coral across the mural wall and a hot air balloon lamp over me great grandma's rocking chair on the other side of the room. I've got photos from our first anniversary when we went to a hot air ballon show in front of Pikes Peak to hang up as well. (Sorry about the lighting, it was pretty cloudy today and the light fixture in there currently sucks)

The changing table/ dresser got done tonight! All we need now is our pretty pink crystal knobs to go on it
