Pregnant after a Loss

Intro

Hi! I am tentatively here after getting faint BFPs yesterday and this morning. Hoping to see a darker line before I call the Drs Office to have it confirmed with a blood test and get some other levels tested.

It has been barely a month since my miscarriage at 6 weeks, so I am a bit hesitant to get excited just yet. It took us 6 months of trying to get the first pregnancy, so I was not expecting this so soon.

The first pregnancy I had just started taking medication for my low thyroid, and right after the miscarriage they retested my levels and upped my dose. It might be coincidence, but I wonder if the medication has helped me get pregnant...

In any case, I'm hoping, praying, and wishing for this one to stick.

Re: Intro

  • FX for you! Congrats and I'm wishing you a H&H 9 months!

I know what you mean about being hesitant about being excited. I think it's perfectly normal given what all of us have been through. I think it's a matter of taking things day by day and meeting those milestones that are personally significant for you. And it IS ok to be excited...today we are pregnant! Welcome. I remember you from the TTCAL boards.
  • Happy to see you here @Megz1902!! Happy and healthy 9 months!

  • @Wishilivedinflorida @riversong15 @waterfall213Thank you!

I will feel more optimistic when the line on the test gets darker. I know it's there, but would be happier if it's darker.

I don't think I'll feel out of the woods until the first U/S. I didn't make it that far last time, so here's hoping I do this time.

It still feels surreal that I am pregnant again, it's also a bit of deja vu. I have been testing 2-3 times a day just to see the reassurance of that faint line. I'll be out of wondfos soon, though.

Right now, my mantra is: I am pregnant, I will stay pregnant, I WILL have a healthy baby.

Thank you all for the encouragement. H&H 9 months to you too!

  • I hear you on the anxiety. I didn't make it to my first appointment last time either, so I'm really hoping I make it that far this time too. Fingers crossed we both get there!
  • Fingers crossed for you!

Did they test you down to zero last month? I don't want to be the one to say it but it can take a couple of cycles for the hcg to disappear from your system. I just don't want you to be disappointed if this is leftover hormone :(
  • @MamaRoni when I went in to have levels checked b/c I had started bleeding (Jan 25), they were at 20. I had levels checked again Jan 29, and I assume they were 0, because they didn't have me come in for further blood tests. They said the test was "Negative"... I should have asked them what the number was, but didn't think about it. I did however take some home tests once the bleeding was done, which were stark white negatives.

I had blood drawn on 3/1 which were 109. I go back in on the 9th for another draw to see if they have increased as expected.

I don't think this is leftover hormone, but I guess I am prepared if it turns out to be that. I really hope not.
