March 2016 Moms

Anyone else SUPER tired?

I'll be 38 weeks tomorrow and starting this week I seriously hit a wall in the afternoons.  Of course I'm sleeping crappy (but that's been going on for weeks) and I've given up caffeine after my breakfast tea in hopes of helping my night time sleep be a little better but even considering those things it seems extreme.  I almost cannot make it through the afternoons without a nap.  And unfortunately naps aren't really an option around here.  Is anyone else totally exhausted?  I don't really remember this from the last 3 pregnancies, hopefully it's normal.

Re: Anyone else SUPER tired?

  • Yep. Pretty wiped out by mid to late afternoon. Some days are better than others, but I've noticed the increase in exhaustion creeping up week by week. Each week that passes I wake up a little more tired, a little more achy from the get go, which just sets you up for being wiped out earlier and earlier. I'm assuming it just comes with the 3rd Trimester territory, but I'm a FTM so I don't have any other experiences to compare this to...
  • I'm not feeling more tired than usual, but i am feeling a lot less motivated.. we just moved in to my mom's (for money reasons, thanks to AB's horrible economy) & i have ZERO interest in unpacking & getting settled. it's so bad :/ I'm hoping it'll end soonish because I'm seriously running out of time.

  • I fell asleep twice on the couch this evening while watching my recorded criminal minds and had to rewind. Definitely woke up thinking how the hell did I fall asleep? Lol. 37 weeks +4. I'm definitely more exhausted every week. Not sure how I'm going to get through my 12 hour shift tomorrow.
  • Yep. Had to work 1:30-6:30, did nothing all day leading up to it, was completely wiped out by the time I got home. Tomorrow I work 9-6:30 and Friday's are always busy at a bank, not sure how I'm going to survive :/

  • I'm exhausted but can't sleep because I can never get comfy! It's a vicious cycle.
  • Yes! I have to fight to stay awake when driving and find myself zoning out at work. By the time I get home I'm just done. DS let me take a nap the other day. Sad thing was I didn't feel any better when I woke up!

    Anniversary

  • I wake up ok around 7 every day with DS but lately by 11 am im soo tired for no reason .. I try and get him to nap with me lol usually not successful though so then im just tired all day :(
  • @Katherine8908, me too! DS is awake between 6 and 7AM and by 9AM I can barely keep my eyes open. Thankfully he doesn't seem to mind when mommy cat naps on the couch for a bit and will sometimes cuddle with me.

    Pregnancy Ticker

March '16 February Siggy challenge- After Pregnancy hopes

  • Yes! This is my second child and I was not this wiped with my first. And its not just because I have a two year old. My husband has really stepped in and helped, I'm just drained of all energy. It has to be hormonal!

  • FTM and I totally have felt this way over the last week or so... All of a sudden I have no energy or motivation. Getting through a short work day is about the most that can be asked of me at this point. I feel totally overwhelmed thinking about the big trip to the grocery I need to make and putting together freezer meals with my mom this weekend! I am planning on working up until my due date (March 11) so I guess I just need to take it one day at a time!! Good luck to all you tired mamas!
  • Yep I'm almost 36 weeks now and the discomfort has been going on for a few weeks. This pregnancy is actually a little better for me because I'm not as big as last time, but DD sleeps with us most nights and mostly super close to me which makes it hard for me to make any movement.  She would wake up if I get out of bed which means I'm basically stuck in bed even if I'm wild awake.  Not sure what to do when this LO comes out and needs night feedings... Anyway, DH's snoring also isn't helping... One more week of work!!!
  • I hit a wall at 38.5 weeks.  Everyone has been telling me that at the end of this pregnancy I will be dying to just get this baby out, and I didn't think I'd feel that way since I've had a pretty easy pregnancy and have been relatively comfortable, but no more.  I'm sleeping less and less each night and during the day I'm so uncomfortable, it's just exhausting.  I'm very lucky that my job is letting me work from home from now until I deliver (EDD 3/3) so at least I can stay in my pajamas all day and maybe try to fit work in between cat naps, which are much harder to do when I'm at my desk :)
  • This is my 4th pregnancy as well. I'm 36 weeks and also super tired! Just cannot hardly function sometimes!
  • I keep telling my husband, "I shouldn't be this tired."
  • I typically love sleeping in a normal basis, but the past month or more I can't sleep- I just toss and turn and it hurts to move I dread it.  I get up- try to get comfy (sitting up with pillows ) on the couch and go back and forth a few times a night. After I put the kids on the bus in the morning i am only interested in napping. If I don't nap I can hardly make it through an afternoon. This is my 3rd pregnancy. And I do not remember it being this bad, I think maybe bc it is almost 7 years later? i am so ready to be normal again. 36 weeks 4days
  • I complained earlier that I am super tired... Yet here I am at 230am, sitting in the living room and cant seem to be able to sleep. In addition to all the discomfort, I am also going between being hungry and having acid. Oh and I think there is a mouse in our attic...

I've been so tired I took a day off today. Didn't sleep though! TFIF tomorrow! Everyone says "hahaha it's great practice for when baby gets here" and I'm like STFU.
Yes! That's exactly what everyone says to me and is exactly my internal response. I just think, This is my last chance for sleep, people!
