Our Little Valentine...Autumn's Birth Story

So excited to introduce our little Valentine, Autumn Sky! Born February 14, 2016 at 8:51 a.m. weighing 6 lbs 7 oz, 19 inches long. And latching like a pro!!

Cliff notes version: Id been contracting since 8 pm on Friday. Not that regularly but my plug was gone and it was enough to keep me up all night.

Saturday we went to the hospital where baby and I were monitored for several hours and then sent home (around 3:00 pm) by 8:30 that night I had had enough. Nothing was making them go away and they were roughly 5 mins apart. I had progressed a lot so they admitted me and administered my epidural.

They told me we would likely have our Valentine's Day babe close to 4 or 5 in the morning! Autumn had other plans. I was progressing (10 cm and 100%) but she wasn't dropping. I had the urge to push so we started around 6:30-7:00. Her heart rate dropped when I pushed so worked on bringing that up before continuing to try and birth her.

After almost an hour and a half of unsuccessful pushing and dropping heart rates. They prepped me for my c section and baby girl was born shortly thereafter. Never in my life felt a love like this, she is absolutely perfect!!! The best imaginable Valentine's Day gift to my husband Devin and I for our first Valentine's Day as a married couple.
