I also confess that it bothers me when people don't participate in any of the normal threads (TWW/WTO), but they always jump in to flame someone in the UO or FFFC. It's like they get off on the drama, but don't want to contribute to the board in any sort of helpful manner. We're not here just to flame everyone. We're here to support one another, even if we have differing views of the world.
Eh, I don't think participating in opinion threads should only be limited to people who join the TWW/WTO threads. Not everyone is interested in those, like @antoto said. And truthfully, I believe that many of the people who join the opinion threads aren't just there to flame or create drama - they're actually trying to do the opposite. Calling out hurtful language (whether that language is intentionally or unintentionally hurtful) can be an extremely helpful and supportive thing to do, particularly for those upset by those statements.

I'd like to point out that some might not fit in the WTO/TWW. I am one of them. I was benched, but don't really want to not be on TB/in another group. So I hang out here(I'm hoping I can figure out alot of things while benched), post in the TTA/Benched threads, but also the daily when I have something to say.

I don't honestly care if/where people post, but I don't really get why people come to this board if they aren't actively TTC. My FCCC for the week is a bit long. I had a huge project to work on for this sales guy starting Monday (I'm an estimator so I do all of his pricing). He made me do about 10-15 hours of useless work and changed everything that he needed after I already almost finished his prior request. So out of protest for the rest of the day, I did no work on his project and waited until today to finally get all of the pieces he needs together.

I don't think anything yesterday warranted a banning and I am just glad to see she was able to come back. Can't speak for everyone - but for me even though I have 3 more months until TTC starts I'm still temping charting (if/when something strange happens I like knowing I could come here for questions if I needed to), and I also feel I have excellent temping/charting advice and help for others since I've been doing it for nearly two years. I'm super excited to start TTC and I like being here. I also love being here to support people I've known on here for about a year now. If the TTGP board never had any members who were not actively TTC you would lose a lot of great members who give good advice!

Personally, I have my reasons for not regularly participating in those threads. I don't need to explain or justify them. But why should that preclude me from participating in other threads or weighing in/offering my advice to others if I can? I mean you're essentially saying that if you had a problem and I had the best advice in the world to share with you, I shouldn't because I don't do the WTO/TWW threads? Really? WTO/TWW participation is not a requirement to post here. It's a free internet and Bump site.
DH and I are trying to be healthy so we stopped buying junk food and sweets. This means that I don't have easy access to my beloved chocolate. It got to the point this week that, on more than one occasion, I consumed a spoonful of nestle quik powder because I was so desperate for chocolate and it's all we had.

I would much rather people join, introduce, join in on appropriate threads and do a lot of lurking prior to TTC before jumping in and asking questions/making posts that are flame worthy. I certainly did this and feel much more prepared for the dynamics of this group and have learned quite a bit too.

I'm beyond obsessed with LLR. I have 3 pairs of leggings and 2 Irmas currently. I also like the classic and perfect Ts and the Randy. I'm not a huge fan of the dresses or skirts. I have 2 more pairs of leggings coming - I won them both at online parties where I didn't even buy anything! I agree the shirts are expensive. I typically get patterned leggings and solid shirts that match multiple pairs. The leggings are amaze-balls.
@atcwag I really liked the basic T's. I thought it would look really cute with leggings. If I like the leggings, I think I'll be able to justify the splurge. I don't buy a ton of clothes, so I'm ok with paying a little more for the few pieces I do have. I also aspire to be the type of person who rocks printed leggings, so I think I'll give those a go in the future too.

DH and I call each other momma and daddy (in a completely non sexual way) all the time around the house even though we don't have kids. It started from talking to our dog but now we do it with everything. Sometimes I cringe when I think about it but I don't stop doing it haha.

@itsmehere1212 No judgement! I've totally eaten spoonfuls of hot chocolate mix to satisfy a craving. And DH has to hide the Nutella (when I'm allowed to buy it) so that I don't eat the entire thing in one sitting.
My FFFC (and it's super light) is that DH is going to go see Deadpool with his friends tonight. He invited me, and I do want to see it eventually, but it's supposed to snow and is freezing cold out so I'm more than happy just sitting at home catching up on trashy tv.
My confession - though doubtful it's flame worthy is that I'm an absolute skeptic of people with alternate scren names. My BMB from years ago was catfished in a very serious, disgusting, mentally ill way from an alternate identity user that we all *thought* we knew. It was terrifying, terrible and has caused me to question anyone with enough time on their hands to run multiple screen names. I'm not projecting this on anyone here, but some of the above comments gave me the creepy crawly feelings again.
I bought a little bag of chocolate last weekend and hid it from DH because I didn't want to share. No regrets. Especially because it had 3.5 servings and took me 4 days to eat. That means it didn't even count, right?

@DiFazette I'm glad I'm not the only one who has their skin crawl at the idea that anyone would make multiple accounts for the same thing. WHHHHHHYYYY? "Ain't nobody got time for that."
@DiFazetteI would really like to hear more about this, if you're willing to share, since I'm pretty new to this community forum-environment. It might be good to hear about red flags or warning signs (if they exist). But If it's still too gross/creepy to get into I understand.
The catfish types are usually discovered when their stories don't line up. They're either off the wall, too impossible to believe stories, and/or they're inconsistent. It's like anyone lying - eventually they dig themselves into a hole and get caught. Sometimes it's "proven" through inconsistencies in post history, sometimes people are super creepers and post pictures that aren't really theirs (like bump photos on their BMB that they found online) - reverse image searching sometimes helps confirm that. There was a BMB with a crazy catfish and they ultimately got in touch with the chick in like Sweden or Switzerland or something whose photos the catfish was using. Crazy!
The trolling types are a little different. Sometimes it's people creating another account just to try to stir the pot. You can't always be sure about those, but someone with limited post history just coming out of nowhere with completely crazy posts that seem too cliche/scripted would be a red flag. There's not much to do with those other than don't feed the trolls, and/or report TOU violations and mention the suspected trolling.
Using another account after being banned is also a different situation. When someone receives three warnings and is banned, they're not supposed to just make another account and rejoin. Banned is banned, it's not "do over". Those cases are obvious when people literally say "hi, my other account was banned, here's my new name." Otherwise, you'd have to be around long enough to recognize similar posting styles which is much harder to catch. Though, of course, it's easier when the username is almost identical and the avatar is the same or very similar. A little bit of post history searching can typically confirm it as well.
All that said, yes - this is the internet, it's a public forum, and literally anyone can make up an account and pretend to be whoever they want. And anyone can read posts/comments without making an account. But, I don't think it's necessary to be afraid at every turn that someone might be lying/catfishing/trolling. I tend to go on the assumption that most people here are real people and not get myself worked up about it. But it's always god to use general internet safety (don't post your full name, personal photos, identifiable information) since you never know for sure.

My FFFC (and it's super light) is that DH is going to go see Deadpool with his friends tonight. He invited me, and I do want to see it eventually, but it's supposed to snow and is freezing cold out so I'm more than happy just sitting at home catching up on trashy tv.

My Chart

Also, I don't like pumpkin spice lattes.
@whiska - nothing to add that the above didn't cover. I don't want to get into specifics other than that someone hung on a BMB for over a year as an imposter, stole someone's photographs of their children and passed them off as their own, then shit got really crazy. I don't want to re-live it all.
We may feel at times that people here are our 'friends' or that we know them, but we're all strangers on a similar journey of working towards a baby. No reason to trust people more on this board than any other stranger off the street. Sorry if that sounds jaded...
