Back pain relief

I tweaked my back yesterday while working out and the pain is intense. Having a toddler doesn't help. I know Tylenol is OK but I'm weary of taking anything during first tri. Any other recommendations?

Oh no! So sorry as back pain is the worst!! I have to go to a chiro regularly as my back had been messed up since I had DS. I talked to my OB about it and he was fine with me going. The Relaxin hormone usually kicks in around week 14 so I've been really pushing for that! Good luck!!

I second a chiropractor! Just ask if they see pregnant clients.

Not against a chiropractor, just hoping to avoid it because I have no time for appointments.

I pulled a muscle in my belly last pregnancy and my doctor said I could use icy hot.

Recently I've started using essential oils more with my family and peppermint essential oil mixed with coconut oil works wonders on sore muscles.

I have no experience using essential oils while pregnant, at least not yet, nor have I asked my doctor about using them while pregnant. So PLEASE ask your doctor first!

I would be wary of the heating pad while pregnant. Also, my chiro said no heat as it will flare up the swelling. I'm a huge fan of BioFreeze (similar to icy hot but less potent)

I've been icing it without much help. I have EOs but staying away until I see my OB. I'll have to try bio freeze.

My doc actually told me to use a heating pad for a cyst.  As long as it's not hot enough to burn you or increase your body temp, it's probably fine.
