@letyourheartbeyourguide I was totally being serious! I love the snow! More than that, I love being forced to have a lazy day due to weather! If it drizzles here I'm like "guess I have to stay inside all day!"
And I promise, no beach pictures.

@PennStateCait aw, bummer, mine is Dec 20. Twins at heart at least. We're having lamb and a Hello Fresh chicken dish. Thinking of a Cards Against Humanity evening.

@missteacherlady16 I hate snow too! We had to shovel out of the pile of snow and it sucked! People who love this are cray in my book!

Okay...the ONLY thing I like about snow is watching my pups play in it.

I don't throw that compliment around often.

Yeah sorry, definitely not a lazy day here.

Hanging around the house and going to the beach = my version of lazy day. Staying inside being lazy when it drizzles =/= blizzard.

My "lazy" day involved having to put on a ridiculous number of layers to shovel off the steps and walkway, put little booties on the dog because the snow gets stuck in his pads and then he won't walk, put said booties on again after he pulls them off, put jackets on the dogs, all to take the dogs across the street to do their business ... to then bring them in, towel them off, take off all the wet boots/clothes, and then repeat several more times during the day. Also more shoveling. Climbing into snow drifts above my knees. Endless shoveling.

Snow days are nice when you're a kid and someone else does the shoveling and walks the dogs and makes the food. Or maybe it's fun when you're an adult and you have little kids who love the snow. Or if you're on a ski vacation. When you're home by yourself (other than with dogs who hate the snow) in the middle of a blizzard, not so fun. Mostly just trapped inside because you can't drive anywhere, hoping the electricity stays on, and again the endless shoveling and wearing a shit ton of clothing so the wind/snow/horror doesn't freeze your face.

@letyourheartbeyourguideyes super thankful that the electricity and cable stayed on.  Many storms and/or blizzards leave us powerless due to where we live and this snow-weekend has been much better due to TV binge watching.  We are definitely in some desperate need of this:

That cocktail, yes. Though I prefer it a little slushier looking (that's the only thing I want frozen!!) and with an umbrella. And while St. Maarten looks lovely, isn't Zika there? So let's go for ... I dunno, whatever lovely island doesn't have the Zika.

In the meantime, I'm going for Netflix and hot chocolate to try to reset my brain before having to take the pups out in the snow AGAIN.

@longliveregina my dh likes shoveling too!!! Its the strangest thing...

I love the snow!!!! But not shoveling it. We live in norcal right now and dh is so over it, ready to get back to "anywhere snowy". He does work remotely most of the time now and I'm a sahw (BC of the constant moving in previous years for his work) , so we don't have to get out and drive in it, which probaboy makes us more pro-snow. Im VERY used to driving In the snow in the mountains... And we lived somewhere regularly snowy during the winter months...So it didnt ever bother me before. But the accident on the ice I had last month has done a number on me. Now I just cling the oh crap handle if its even a little sketchy looking. And blizzards and snow in places that aren't equipped are totally different thing than just snow.

The morning after... they were anticipating only 8-12" by us, which turned out to be a solid two feet, if not more.  I didn't measure anything yet.  DH and I were out there for 4.5 hours last night clearing snow, him with the machine and me with the shovel.... I can barely walk today!  He is back out there with the skid steer b/c apparently the town doesn't plow our block since it's a dead end.  DH is basically the neighbourhood hero today!  And the neighbours shoveled our walk for us, cos last night I just did the porch and the steps but I had to call it.
Here's our back yard this morning. You can see how high the machine is buried, and almost halfway up the back fence!  Glad everyone is safe and sound...

22" here! I've heard nonstop shoveling outside all day. It's really sunny today and it's supposed to be above freezing as highs all week so I'm hoping this snow goes down to a reasonable level soon. There's nothing I want to see more than melting snow!

@BusinessWife That's awesome your H is the neighborhood hero today! Hope your body starts feeling better soon. My H got stuck for a few minutes while parallel parking on the street last night and I got tired after about 3 scoops of snow with the shovel lol

About 16 here!  Just got the news that schools are closed again tomorrow.  No plows in sight, and I'll actually be surprised if we even have school on Tuesday.  But I'm cruising through season 5 of Parenthood, so there's that!

So. Much. Snow. We got 26 inches and there is just now where to put it. They haven't plowed our street but there's a guy with a bobcat moving some of it out of the way. We've been shoveling for nearly 4 hours and just came in to a slow cooker full of chili. It's never tasted better.

Just wanted to follow up my previous post with this :# because it's funny...

I don't know how you all do it. Hands down respect to those of you shoveling snow and whatever else you do for survival.

ETA: The South will welcome you with warm arms should you decide to flee snow. South will probably bring some sweet tea and a warm, rice pillow (or something?) along for the welcome party.

ETA #2: Seriously, I'm looking at these pictures and reading these posts...you women are amazing!
