Re: Monday Ticker Change 1/18

  • Weeks/ fruit- 35 weeks coconut

Cravings/ symptoms- all I really crave is ice
symptoms: painful hands that wake me at night, insomnia, pain in hips, pelvis, and ribs, tachycardia and shortness of breath, heartburn and acid reflux.

Rants/ raves- My only rant is all the symptoms I'm having. I'm ready for my baby to get here so I can feel better. Raves - I found the cutest baby Star Wars prints for the nursery and super cute frames to put them in and now the nursery is 99% done.

Doctor Appointments- None until next Wednesday.

GTKY- What is your ideal situation for labor and delivery? Home birth/ birthing center/ hospital/ med free/ epidural/ iv meds/ c sectional/ vagional birth? If everything went perfect and to plan, what would your little ones birth look like?
I'm hoping for a med-free (or mostly med-free had a pitocin drip and shot of stadol with my last) vaginal birth. My last took 12 hours including the time my labor stopped and they had to hook me up to the pitocin and if this one took about that same time, I'd be okay with it. I just want everything to be safe and my precious baby boy to get here healthy.

  • Weeks/Fruit: 38 weeks, can't remember the fruit.

Cravings/Symptoms: No real cravings. I am still feeling averse to Thai food and spaghetti for whatever reason, much to my husband's dismay. I don't think they'd make me sick or anything, they just sound so awful!
Symptoms are swollen feet and ankles, hip pain at night, BH, general tiredness and hugeness. I'm definitely uncomfortable but not miserable.

Rant: the next two weeks are going to crawl by! Ack!
Rave: I woke up feeling happy today. No real reason. But that's good. :) Headed to the OB with my son in tow, hopefully he's nice and calm for me.

Appt: Last prenatal appt is today, Friday is our surgical consultation, then next Friday is the c-section!

GTKY: My ideal situation is my planned c-section. I'm really at peace with it. It's what I have to do and I'm looking forward to it- I know (ideally) exactly what's going to happen and I feel prepared!

    Weeks/ fruit- 36 weeks, Honeydew

Cravings/ symptoms- chocolate covered pretzels and oreo cookies are my weakness right now. Symptoms are BH, losing my mucus plug in small pieces, swollen feet, sore lower back and hips are starting to hurt.

Rants/ raves- only have 2 more weeks left of work, so looking forward to that. Rant, my boss pretty much asked me today to find someone to cover my mat leave because she can't find anyone. Sorry love, not my job.

Doctor Appointments- Friday afternoon is my next appointment. Hopefully he will check to see if I am dilating at all.

GTKY- vaginal birth at the hospital. Going to talk to my OB on Friday about other types of pain medications. When I had my son they gave me my epidural without checking to see how far I had dilated. After they administered the epidural, the nurse checked and I was 8cm. If I had of know how much I had actually progressed, I would not have gotten it.

    Edit: autocorrect.
  • Weeks/ fruit-34 weeks Butternut Squash

Cravings/ symptoms-Haven't really had cravings at all so far..maybe bananas a little
Tons of symptoms though!! lol. Period like cramps, painful BH, heartburn, back pain, inner thigh pelvic pain making it hurt to walk or get dressed! The end of pregnancy is so fun

Rants/ raves-Its my birthday tomorrow and I'm kinda bummed out because my husband is 600 miles away and I'm pregnant and uncomfortable kinda wishing I could just skip the day all together :/
However, things are coming together in preparation for baby. Think we have just about everything set up!

Doctor Appointments-Have one on Thursday. My doctor does a quick sonogram at every appointment, so looking forward to getting to see my little man!

GTKY- What is your ideal situation for labor and delivery? Home birth/ birthing center/ hospital/ med free/ epidural/ iv meds/ c sectional/ vagional birth? If everything went perfect and to plan, what would your little ones birth look like?
Hospital birth, med free, and vaginal.
But I'm being induced so I guess it won't be med free :/ but I'm gonna try my best to go without the epidural..though I hear pitocin makes contractions super painful

been craving chocolate of course. strawberry ice cream. pretty much any sweets..
been having bad hip/pelvic bone bone. back is starting to hurt randomly also. so ready for baby girl to get outta me already!

    Rants/ raves- rant:
my co worker has been bugging me lately. rave: thankfully i'm officially done with work till after baby and can start tackling my to-do list.

    Doctor Appointments-
this wednesday, it's been almost a month so i'm ready to see how everything is going!

GTKY- What is your ideal situation for labor and delivery? Home birth/ birthing center/ hospital/ med free/ epidural/ iv meds/ c sectional/ vagional birth? If everything went perfect and to plan, what would your little ones birth look like?

at the hospital and really hoping not to be induced. i definitely will be doing an epidural but am hoping to skip the narcotics and go straight to that. lastly, i am scared of a c-section so fingers crossed all goes smoothly and it's vaginally, but will do what is right to get baby girl out healthy and happy.

  • Weeks/ fruit- 34, butternut squash

Cravings/ symptoms- no cravings at all. Still have a mega aversion/gag reflex when bacon is cooking (am a vegetarian so not a big deal but have to run and hide when DH cooks it!)

Symptoms-wise, lots of arms and legs attacking me constantly! Hip pain from lying on left side at night

Rants/ raves- had my last full day of teaching today! Actually feel a it sad about coming out of class! Doing more admin based tasks for the next few weeks

Doctor Appointments- midwife appointment tomorrow, get to hear heartbeat :-). Been having our ante natal classes which have been informative/a little scary! DH is certainly learning a lot!

GTKY- What is your ideal situation for labor and delivery? Home birth/ birthing center/ hospital/ med free/ epidural/ iv meds/ c sectional/ vagional birth? If everything went perfect and to plan, what would your little ones birth look like?

Birth centre with the pool hopefully! Would like I avoid pain relief except for gas and air if possible, but I'm happy to go with the flow if needed/recommended. Would prefer to avoid epidural, but again, no idea how I'll react when it all kicks in!
  • Weeks/ fruit- 38 weeks!

Cravings/ symptoms- No particular cravings, just whatever sounds good at the moment is what I have to have. Tons of BH, cramping, lower back pain on one side, hips hurt at night, peeing every 20 mins, trouble staying asleep, shortness of breath all the time, dizziness, emotional, and anxiety is pretty high.

Rants/ raves- This winter weather is so strange this year, we went all of Dec and halfway thru January with basically no snow and now last week and this week we are getting pounded (measuring in feet) over a days time twice now. We are currently in the middle of one of these storms and supposed to get up to 2 feet by tomorrow morning. I am so nervous that I will go into labor during one of these storms and have to have my parents drive to our house for DD and then we need to drive to the hospital. While we live in upstate NY and are used to snow conditions it still is adding an extra stresser to the mix that I'd rather not have. DH has been trying to help out with DD a lot more and I surely appreciate it. It's hard to care for a 2 year old all day, let alone this pregnant. He's been so understanding with putting up with my crazy mood swings too!

Doctor Appointments- This wednesday, just a quick heartbeat check no cervical checks.

GTKY- What is your ideal situation for labor and delivery? Home birth/ birthing center/ hospital/ med free/ epidural/ iv meds/ c sectional/ vagional birth? If everything went perfect and to plan, what would your little ones birth look like?

Vaginal birth at the hospital (not in a snow storm). I'm hoping for a quicker labor then with my first pregnancy and am planning on getting an epidural. The first time around I received some pain med through an IV first around 5cm because I wasn't sure I wanted an epidural and I would never do that again! It made me so sick, dizzy, like I had no control, and drunk feeling...just awful! I requested an epidural after that around 8cm and it was glorious, once it kicked in I felt nothing and liked it that way. I also went straight to 10cm because it allowed my body to relax, which it wasnt doing with the other IV pain meds. As long as baby boy arrives healthy and happy thats what ultimately matters but these are my preferences.
  • Weeks/ fruit- 35/honeydew

Cravings: no real cravings, although I want some more cheesecake after H and I shared a piece the other night!

Symptoms: BHs, pain from about the boobs down. Nausea in the afternoons/evenings.

Rants/ raves- my combo rant/rave is that I'm dying at work. So painful, a high risk for injury, and just generally not in the mood to deal with stuff. My rave is that I think I'm going to give it two more weeks and then go out on leave (at 37w).

Doctor Appointments- ultrasound next Monday, MW Wednesday. I'm concerned about the u/s. If I'm having the same fluid issues I did with DD, we'll have a baby next week, a month early :/

GTKY- I would LOVE a home birth, but that's just not in the cards. Second best is an unmediated vaginal birth, laboring at home as long as possible. Since this baby is currently breech, that might not be in the cards either.

Considering that a c/s may be required, my primary hope is that I will feel more at peace and less of a failure than I did with my last c/s. I was so distraught with my last one (sectioned due to IUGR, oligo, and frank breech at 37w).

  • Weeks/ fruit- 36/ honeydew melon

Cravings/ symptoms- fresh fruit especially berries/ can't get comfortable but that's just how it goes.

Rants/ raves- my H is pissing me off! Raves: it's Girl Scout cookie season and my kid is selling so mama gets her fix fast without having to wait and find them.

Doctor Appointments- Thursday! To do the "tests" and check her positioning. We will see how it goes.

GTKY- What is your ideal situation for labor and delivery? Home birth/ birthing center/ hospital/ med free/ epidural/ iv meds/ c sectional/ vagional birth? If everything went perfect and to plan, what would your little ones birth look like?
I would rather have a VBAC at our birthing center followed by skin to skin contact and breastfeeding instead of another cesarean.
  • Weeks/ fruit- 36 weeks / honeydew

Cravings/ symptoms- no cravings, pretty sure I've been having inconsistent contractions over the weekend

Rants/ raves- Rave - so thankful for my husband and sister who have helped clean house and play with our 2 yr old

    Doctor Appointments- Wed!

GTKY- What is your ideal situation for labor and delivery? Home birth/ birthing center/ hospital/ med free/ epidural/ iv meds/ c sectional/ vagional birth? If everything went perfect and to plan, what would your little ones birth look like?

I would prefer to have a VBAC at our hospital followed by skin to skin contact and breastfeeding instead of  another c-section which I have no choice in
