My baby girl is about to be 3 months old & has a little trace of blood in her morning pee diapers for the past two weeks. I took her to the emergency room where they tested her urine & said everything was fine but she did have irritation of the vulva. We put a prescribed topical antibiotic on her twice a day & it did nothing, she would still wake up with a little blood in her diaper. It does not seem to bother her but I'm wondering what is the cause? I just started my period so maybe my hormones are messing with her? Or maybe because she sleeps through the night & goes so long without peeing, anyone out there have any suggestions?
Follow up with your pedi!!! The hospital only treats at the moment symptoms, they don't know your child's history like her doctor. Did the hospital tell you to follow up with your pedi? Because if not, they should have. This is definitely not something I wait out.
Also, she's not peeing while sleeping through the night? That's also concerning since there's blood in her diaper and definitely should be discussed with her doctor asap. I have two girls, and if I ever found blood in their diapers I would be at the doctor THAT day.
We followed up with her pedi. Well her pedi is out of town but they had another one on call & She said that I shouldn't worry about it she thinks it's hormones being passed through her & that if the e.r. did tests on her urine & nothing came back then I shouldn't worry about it, if the symptoms last longer than a couple more week's then I would come back in.
@cbolton19 it's referred to as a mini period and sometimes happens after they are first born. It's due an estrogen withdrawal after delivery it's not a ton at all like our period would be but there is for sure blood lol
