Measuring below 10th percentile?

Hello I'm 31wks and I had an ultrasound today and the tech said my baby is measuring between the 4-6th percentile! Which is well below average. My question is has anyone ever been told that their baby was measuring below the tenth percentile? And what was outcome?

I just went threw this. My peanut was under the 10th and for months they made me go to a specialist to track her growth and have a ton of ultrasounds. Come to find out at 33 weeks she's completely normal and healthy, just small. The last specialist I saw told me to be happy I make small babies because it saves the vagina, then told me no more appointments so my advice to you is to not worry, some babies are just small. And you will be much happier in recovery! My son was 6.7 when he was born and I recovered in no time, my sister had an 8.10 baby and it took her a lot longer. So it's a good thing for sure.

Oh good! They came up with one more way to unnecessarily worry parents! Fantastic! I was pretty sure there weren't enough of those already!

I measure small with both of my girls, towards the end measuring 2-4 weeks behind consistently, had ultrasounds with my 2nd until the last week she ended up being born at 40 weeks weighing 5lbs 7oz, 2nd percentile. she was perfectly healthy just small

Some people have small babies. This doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. I'm assuming this is your first? I have a friend who had a baby who measured small the entire pregnancy (I think he was 8th percentile) and he's still a teeny little peanut, but he's fine. He has to be monitored for growth still, because he's still in the lowest percentiles for weight, but he is thriving with careful diet monitoring.

You may want to talk to your doctor about what (outside of genetics) could be causing this, and if there is anything you can do if it's a concern.
