I'm 30 weeks with twin girls and had my last checkup yesterday. My OB asked about Braxton Hicks and I said yes. She told me to start keeping track, and if I have 4 or more in an hour she wants to know about it. Problem is, I can't always tell if I'm having one. My belly constantly feels tight because I'm getting big, and sometimes I can't tell if it's contracting or that's the babies moving. Any tips for differentiating a contraction vs. normal aches and pains or movement? If I track everything I think COULD be a contraction, they'll probably put me in the hospital for observation and I don't think that's necessary at this point. Thanks!
For me I can feel my tummy getting hard and it almost takes my breath away. Like I feel like I got the wind knocked out of me. A lot of times my tummy looks really misshapen too, like there's a butt pushing out. I get them allll the time but they are never painful. Hope that helps a little bit!
Man, if I had gone up every time I had 4 BH in an hour I would have been living at the hospital. At first I did, but nothing came of it. I would say just use your best judgement. If you're sure you're feeling it count it. If you aren't sure, wait a few minutes and see how you feel/how your girls are moving. If you're worried of course call your OB.
