Advice on proper CD Materials

I made my first cloth diaper cover today!! I am so happy with my results being a beginner at sewing and CDing soon. This has really motivated me to buy the proper materials and make a half a dozen or so CD covers before LO arrives. I want to make waterproof covers that I can lay inserts inside and wipe clean for multiple uses. I'm trying to make sure that I gather the basic materials that I will need: PUL material (I've only seen it online by "Babyville Boutique"), elastic, velcro or snaps & the snap tool. Am I leaving out anything? Thanks in advance!

Re: Advice on proper CD Materials

  • If you have a Joann Fabric nearby, they carry the Babyville fabric (and a lot of the other supplies) that you can use 40-50% off coupons on.

  • The PUL is available at JOANNS. In my store they have a little section of all things CD to make your own. The prints are limited in my opinion but seeing it all in one spot may be useful! But the materials you have listed sound about right for a cover! Good luck!! One more thought is maybe do some research as to what type of thread is the best option I've not looked into it but I hate it when I sew something and realize I could have chosen a more wise thread option!
  • @VitaLuna & @heatherlemieux Thanks ladies! I usually try to avoid Joanns but the possibility of getting everything in one spot sounds lovlier. I've seen the Babyville PUL online at Walmart but it would suck to pay for something that appears one way online and shows up drastically different. I will def. research the thread as well.
