Omg I'm 38+5 and have the exact same thing. Feels like period pain and is in my lower abdomen, lower back and upper thighs. I've been having regular BH too which I normally only experience in the evenings... Fingers crossed something might be happening but I'm trying to ignore it for now...
I went into L+D EARLY yesterday because of this and mystery liquid. Turns out I'm just paranoid, we concluded that it was BH. That being said, my nurse did say that it could have been how contractions would feel, but there would be a break between it (mine was CONSTANT). She also said "I'd rather see you 50+ times and send you home than have you worrying and stressing at home, so if you aren't sure come in and we'll check you out". I would hope that every L+D ward has this outlook. Or call and check with your OB
I had this at 37 weeks for about 6 hours it was just a consistent cramp and only after 6 hours of it did i start havin a slight pulsating feeling around that area which i assumed were mini comtractions to push baby down into pelvis which my obgyn said was normal...
Tomorrow i'm 38 weeks and only today did i feel mini contractions that seems to be going to my lower back a bit too but very minor and not painful...
My obgyn says you will know when its contractions as it will feel unlike anything you ever experienced
The cramps I had this morning have stopped now, so no labour as of yet... My baby is in a posterior position which I've read can result in more early contractions and cramps as your body attempts to help baby turn to anterior. Basically a drawn out pre-labour phase, which can be very annoying for first timers who aren't sure what to expect!
