33 Weeks and I Fell

My hubby and I went to Wal-mart for a quick trip, and not long after we got in the store, I slipped and fell. My left foot started to slip and I just could not regain my balance and my hubby was just out of my reach to grab onto him. He turned after it was too late to help. My left knee hit the ground followed by my right knee and left hand. My belly touched the ground, but with very little momentum. I got back up with hubby's help. Other than my knees, hand, and back, I feel okay, but I started crying a few minutes later. We ended up leaving the store empty handed. My doctor is out this week. I feel mostly embarrassed that I fell in public, I think. She's moving around just fine and there's no cramping or blood.

I think that with no cramping or blood, you're totally fine. I've fallen a couple times while pregnant because I'm clumsy, and all has been good with me so far. It wouldn't hurt to let your doctor know when she's back in town, though.

I had a 60 lb dog jump directly on my belly and I freaked. Called the dr and so long as there is no severe cramping / pain or any bleeding, they told me not to worry.

I busted it in the shower yesterday. My mom just had a double mastectomy so I was over at her place caring for her. Thank God my grandmother was there or I would still be stuck in that tub yelling for help! My moms shower chair was in there and I slipped and somehow got both legs lodged on either side of the chair and BETWEEN the wall. Spread. Freaking. Eagle. Nothing more embarrassing than being sopping wet and slippery in your birthday suit and stuck in the shower yelling for help. Looked like a bullfrog. Lol

Pay attention to painful cramping and contractions as well as bleeding. If you are RH negative they will probably want you to get the Rhogam shot. If there is any doubt or uncertainty, call your doctor just to be safe. I just fell down the stairs at 31 weeks and had to be in the hospital for 24 hours but that was because I am RH negative and I started contracting. Good luck!

I fell a couple of weeks ago (was 31 weeks at the time) and started having BH contractions. I ended up calling my MW who sent me straight to the hospital. I was actually having contractions 2-4 minutes apart. They gave me fluids and monitored me for about 24 hours until the contractions (pretty much) stopped. The specialist told me that even if you feel movement from the baby you should always get checked after a fall bc they are more concerned with placenta abruption than anything else. Not trying to worry you but it might be worth getting checked out...just in case.

I fell during my first pregnancy on my butt as I was heading to my OB. I felt fine but since I was at my appointment I just mentioned it to her.

She sent me to the hospital right away! It turned out I was having contractions that I couldn't feel and I was monitored at the hospital and given IV liquids for 12 hours.

I thought the whole thing was overkill though so I made sure I didn't tell her about the next two falls I had - I am very clumsy when pregnant.

Thanks you all made me feel a little better. My shoulder on my left side, knees and back are all sore, but I rested most of the day since I'm off work this week. I called the Dr office to let them know. They said to just keep watching for symptoms and call if anything changed.
