Not necessarily too matchy but I immediately thought of "Stellaluna" which is a kids book about a bat or something.

I think it's a little like having a Rose and a Lily... Matter of personal preference. I wouldn't do it myself but it's up to you!

I don't see a problem with it and I kind of like the way they match. It's subtle and not too cutesy. They're both nice names.

Maybe Luna and Estelle/Estella?

I have a Lillian (nn Lily) and love Rosalie if this one's a girl and am ok with the matchy-ness since it would be flower nicknames instead of flower names. Dulls the cheese factor enough for me at least.

I agree that this sounds like a good compromise.

I think Stella and Luna are very pretty names, and I see nothing wrong with pairing them for sisters.

Stella & Luna are pretty names, but just too matchy for me. & like PP's have stated, i automatically thought of the Stellaluna childrens book.

It is also a song by Jason Mraz. I am not a huge fan of how they sound together but really how often will that be an issue in the grand scheme of their lives? Not much.

I think I need to watch "streetcar named desire" because all I know is someone yells "Stella!"

Might be good to understand the context behind something so culturally prevelant and enduring.
