Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Picked up our baby's ashes yesterday

I managed to hold it together long enough to go pick them up from the crematory. I don't know if this is done everywhere, but when we went for our D&C, we were told we could have our baby cremated free of charge. It's really a nice service and there's no way we could have afforded it. I found a seller on a certain crafty website who makes a sterling heart pendant with some of the ashes, so I carefully packed them up and mailed them off today. I like the idea of being able to keep a little of my baby with me.

  • That is a wonderful memory. I was not able to cremate either of my angels, they were sent for genetic testing. You are fortunate to have been able to. Take care.

  • My little man's ashes are in a little heart urn inside a birth announcement bear with all his details on it. When I'm sad I have a teddy to hug which I find really comforting.

I was interested in the idea of a necklace but we where unsure how much ashes we would get. Now that he is in the urn I'm not getting him out. I'm worried I'll drop him and lose him. So I'm sticking with my bear.

  • That's just beautiful....I wish I had something like that to celebrate and honor my losses. Thanks for sharing.
